Allohrandy: I observed that most of those saying that the western countries like USA and UK is safe have never traveled out of Nigeria or are just biased.. I dont blame them because before I traveled out of Nigeria, I used to think that Nigeria is the most unsafe and worse country in the world. I currently live in Oakland California which is often call the murder capital of America. This city is control by the Mexican drug cartel and black American gangs. Infact, the murder rate here in Oakland, California is like 2 murder everyday. In-fact a Nigerian Mrs Doris Chibuko was shot to death last year in Oakland.. The problem with America is that any psycho or Mad Man can easily buy a gun; buying a gun here is as easy as going to buy food in Buka or a restaurant.. America has a big gun problem..There is no day that innocent people are not rob over here and just like in Lagos breaking into people home is very very common here.. I guess that the reason most people spend like $30 a month on home alarm systems to protect their home from arm robbers. My friend was robbed in January at gun point and his car was stolen here in America, we was glad he wasnt harm or shot. Also cities like Detroit and south-side Chicago are as unsafe like Ajegunle Lagos.. I think most part of Nigeria are really safe, I served my NYSC at a village in Enugu and I dont usually locked my door when I go out. I also never experienced any killing or robbery throughout my stay in the village. Apart from some part of Lagos, most western states are safe and I think its only few states like those boko haram States that are unsafe but generally Nigeria is relatively safe Country and better then most countries in the world.. Those that believe Nigeria is unsafe should try spend 1 month in Somali, Syria or even Mexico, after your stay I bet you will all be praying to come back to Nigeria You dey for oakland for greener pasture, you come here dey spew poo...Why u no stay for Nigeria join hand better your country?? Those Mexicans in Central & Southern California Don't Play Any Fuqqing Games at All......... Stay in Lagos. Oakland is serious business. I wear a Bullet Proof Vest Just for a Quick Drive to the Corner Store. And My City isn't any where near as bad as Oakland. You Nigerians better listen to that Fool, and not step anywhere near Oakland. Let's be Honest, Niqqqers are Violent where ever we are In the World. And More so, more "violent towards each other"...Which is the Most Alarming Trait Of All. |

America has some dangerous parts as stated above just like Nigeria it depends where you stay. Watts California some parts of Oakland and the southsides of Chicago Detroit all the Government Housing projects my sister works in Watts as a teacher and the children dont even flinch when they hear gun shots they are use to it. I always feel save in Maryland Nigeria. I walk to sellers and markets in the early mornings and even jog sometimes. Depends on your income anywhere in the world can be dangerous when you live in poverty. My experience in Nigeria which I travel too and from frequently for work and visit is that it is safe. We are very low key never flashy and prayerful. But I have heard of bad experiences thank God I never attract such things because I believe I am safe so that is always my reality |

Nigeria is not a safe place. Imagine a person who commited nefarious crime for the same goverment being arrested, tortured and detained for months by the same goverment. Released by the same goverment and his "evil efforts" still being used by the same goverment. Now, wherever he goes he is protected by policemen granted by the same goverment. |

payless: It's clearly written English, not spoken. You have been criticizing people's grammar here while failing to observe you own mistakes like the referring to written English as spoken English, spelling 'confiscated' as 'confisticated' spelling 'jargon' as 'jaggon', yet you criticize Nigeria's educational system. I will like to know the school you learnt the rubbish you've been spewing here. 5 Likes |

OAM4J: Good one! But kindly change that 30 minutes to something more realistic with the crime! If someone broke into your house while you are away, and you call the cops afterwards, they might come in 30 mins, ask questions, take fingerprints, etc. However, if you dial 911 in an emergency, they will be there faster than you or anyone else can possibly help you e.g. threat to life involving weapons, an accident, etc! Make that 30 mins 5 mins or less and in fact for serious situations, you can expect several troopers showing up in few minutes and drawing their weapons if need be to put down th criminal, armed threat! Some few weeks ago, 5 troopers and a supervisor showed up at a McDonalds close to my house, you'd think someone got killed to see so many cops at once! On another day, and I witnessed this, up to 6 cops showed up because apparently a customer tried to spend a fake $100 bill to buy food and the server apparently called the cops! When will Nigerians experience security, not all the bullshit looneys like insincere9gerian, rosskijke, bullionaire and co who have access to government crumbs call security? |

Re: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by bomly(f): 2:01am On Apr 26, 2013 |
Anyway whether or not is unsafe is dependent on where you have stayed and lived and where you are comparing it to. If you compare Nigeria to Sudan and Somali and Haiti then you can possible say Nigeria is safe but if you compare it to France, Dubai or America then you will tremble and say Nigeria is unsafe. So what is safety with the bomb blast and killings of people everyday, Yes this does not only happen in Nigeria but it still doesn't change the fact that it's happening. Infact how many wealthy people do you see build houses without huge fences? That explains how safe it is, also how many people move without escort also tells you about security. Lets tell yourselves the truth as that is where change begins, we need solution but how can we have one when each time people say Nigeria is safe and Nigeria is Poor and all is okay, Please from my view; We need more security, thanks for the present security but we need more security. No, foreigners are not hyping this, they are only evaluating from the resources they believe we have as to where we should be, in real sense it depends on a lot of factors to reach out a conclusion, but meanwhile everything is based on where you're looking at it from. 1 Like |

Safety in terms of Road The roads are Bad: To a large extent we know this Light: Light is safety, because if we have street lights then we feel a little confidence moving at night Homes: You need real fence each time you are in possession of large sum, infact you have to sleep with one eyes open My dear friend, Nigeria is safe but not safe. WE NEED SECURITY |

On a grade scale of 1 being laughable and 10 being highly equipped, I rate Nigeria (-)10 for police equipment. Does Nigeria even have a criminal profiling unit, a witness protection program, etc? Dumbzzz Nigerians think guns are the only things police officials need. |
