Its safe to say that the only safe place in Nigeria is Ekiti State....that place is even too safe... |

jackbauerspower: Nigeria is a war zone.SO Agege is now synonymous with Nigeria, this is the problem with you timid Lagos born kids. I come from Niger Delta, and I often tell people that Lagos is a disorganized location, not even fit to raise kids. That is very understandable, but if you chose to move to Osun State, Ogun State, Ekiti State, and to the SS/SE and Niger Delta, there is sanity in behaviorism. Lagos is Chaos, does not mean all part of the country is. |

Samabu07:look at you, if Nigeria does not have an economy then what are you doing here, your statement just displayed negative attitude, the earlier you get yourself out of this country the better for you. Nigeria is not safe and you are able to sleep in your house, gone to Iraq or Somalia, Togo and see what is called SAFE. I agree that we have some security problems as a country but it does not give the right rubbish the country as you like. 4 Likes |

What scares me about NIgeria is how quickly shiat can go down. My lil Bro was home during the subsidy brouhaha. One day it was all nice and happy and the next day is bonfire, shootings and mayhem with no authorities in sight. |

OAM4J: We can as well say that Boston is not safe based on last week's event or say similar thing about Canada. You don't use what happened to an individual to draw a conclusion on a city housing about 10million people. 1 Like |

Omo_Tier1: chill for a sec though....how about the millions of people that use night buses, the Dangote truck drivers as well as all the other companies? personally when I was in secondary school in Nigeria, we had a field trip (excursion) all the way from Port Harcourt to Jos and we left late so most of the trip was at Night and what can I say....I'm still alive!. We had the schools mopol security with us though but that wouldn't have stopped an ambush if one were to happen and nothing happened. The fact is that people tend to exaggerate these things way to much. 3 Likes |

Nigeria is not safe in anyway. The poor is living at the mercy of the wicked. If you are really sure of yourself take a drive from lagos to abuja then you will know that nigeria is really safe. |

The greatest Enemies of Nigerians are the pessimist Diasporans that are detached from patriotic common-sense, yet not detached from visiting Nigerian Nairaland. The sickening thing is they can not mix-up with the whites, and yet can not accept the unionism of their home country. They are a lost group of people. I pray for them daily to regain their senses. The optimistic ones are the successful ones who visit home often and have their structures on the sands of time. 10 Likes |

The murder/death rate in Nigeria alone is enough to assert that Nigeria is arguably competing with new Libya, Somalia, Congo DR etc. when it comes to safety... Those countries might be safer than Nigeria, tbh... |

I remember those days back then. In a sick way you miss the hustle. :p Don't know how things are now in the Lagos mainland but one dangerous road then was badagry expressway. Particularly during the evening traffic at Volks/Okoko/LASU area. That time and place was fodder for on-the-road robberies . |

PHIPEX: Except that Boston event doesn't happen every week or every month. If it does we will have to declare the city unsafe. But kidnappings, robberies, etc are almost daily occurrence in Lagos and Nigeria. More than 3/4 of it are not even reported in the news. I know someone close to me whose mother was kidnapped with a week old child in Lagos about 2 weeks ago. You dont want to know what the family went through, how much was paid and where they eventually left the victims. If you have not been affected, thank God. But we have serious security challenges in Lagos and in Nigeria. BTW, am a proud Lagosian/Nigerian, just have to state the facts. 1 Like |

Rossikk: ^^ Absolutely. The roads are filled with thousands of cars at all hours of the night and day. fckyourman: God will punish you and your cohorts if you continue to lie to people about Nigeria being safe to live in. Y'all unscrupulous paid agents coming here to paint the country as a better place before the world, are as deadly as terrorist to humanity...Count how many humans who lost their various lives to unnecessary bombings, bad roads, kidnappings, flight mishaps, police shootings, intimidations from our forces, police harboring criminals, perhaps distributing ammunitions to them for a robbery operation and then await for their own share of the loot ..to say the least...Pass this message to whoever sent you to look into this aforementioned before coming here to deceive innocent people. 3 Likes |

If a foreigner entered this thread and read what Nigerians have to say about Nigeria, they would never step into Nigeria for anything. It is unfortunate that as learned and well-traveled some Nigerians are, they still cannot put things into perspective. Yes Nigeria is Unsafe, just like America is unsafe, same as some parts of Britain. If USA was safe, there wont be thousands of deaths yearly due to crime. Stabbings occur almost weekly in Britain. It is therefore unsafe. Nigeria is not there yet, but not as bad as posters are painting. Accidents, crimes, and avoidable accidents are all different things. 3 Likes |

"The only thing to fear is fear itself" . Most of these bad news we hear are way over exagerated. Even the so-called war zones of maiduguri and kano are not on fire as we hear and see on newspapers. Infact, many residents of these two cities claim news reports do more damage than the actual insecurity. Do you know atleast 60% of the bombs we hear happening in maiduguri is false? Totally fake/never happened, but somebody hear a rumour from somebody, who then pass it to somebody and finally appears on a newspaper. Do you also know that till today there are Igbos, yorubas, forigners e.t.c still living, doing business, and having fun in maiduguri, kano and all the "war zones" we hear of? Bottom line is, its the fear that actually spreading rather than insecurity itself. Which takes us back to the famous quote the only thing to fear is fear itself 3 Likes |

This is not about GEJ's PDP or Tinubu's ACN. If we dont admit our problems and tell ourselves the truth, how are we going to even make attempt to solve the problems? I doubt you have ever lived in a safe and secured country, else you will know the difference. 3 Likes |
