Some people are hoping that we avoid facing the best Africa has to offer in the final round, while I want us to face the best. Enough is enough! Let’s face the best team in Africa and earn that World Cup place. We cannot afford to embarrass ourselves worldwide

Our team doesn’t look like an ANC winning team except there’s a drastic improvement. Collins, ekong, Simon, simply not good enough

Osimhen has created most of his chances for himself, so it can be forgiven if he misses a few
No STFU it cannot be forgiven. We’re getting away with easy missed chances vs CAR and Liberia, but, against the best teams in the world, you might only get 1 chance and if you miss, that’s the end. Nigerians are mad at ighalo for missing 2 half chances vs Argentina

Another bad game again from moses Simon he has done absolutely nothing attacking wise and if his defensive duty is what people like him for, let our coach convert him to a right back. All these bad selections will haunt us against the top ranked team

Like I said before, osimehn needs to stop this bad habit of missing sitters because it will haunt us against the best teams in the world. We’re getting away with it, playing car and liberia

Italy struggled to beat Switzerland at the Euros. Bottom line is that they won. Battle has been fought and won, you are talking of shoulda, coulda been. Say something else abeg. All that you wrote rest are mere footnotes to the victory that attaches to his name and the fact that that same team was ranked number 5.

26 years on, we have not even peaked up to number 10 in FIFA ranking. Hype you say? Naaa, the results speak for themselves.

Se were 9th and 11th FIFA ranking in 2006

And you are damn wrong to say they were outplayed and outclassed. According to you we escaped Zambia but Italy outclassed us. Italy that escaped by the teeth of their skin!
As if Rohr would not have even capitulated to play an Italian side creaming with talents like Maldini, Baggio, Baresi, Conte, Zola.

Tufiakwa unu. A president of an African football giant just publicly said that, he hopes we avoid Algeria, morocco and people are applauding it. It seems like rohr inferiority complex has taken over Pinnick. Also, a nigeria vs Ivory Coast will be much difficult than a Nigeria vs Tunisia or Morocco

Meanwhile Egypt too has qualified. So right now Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Egypt have already qualified for the next round.

Potential qualifiers are
SA/Ghana
Nigeria/CPV
CiV/Cameroun
Benin/Congo
Algeria/BF
Tunisia/EQ

The final qualifying matches will be intense.
Bring Algeria, Senegal or Ghana so we know that if we qualify, it was earned

I am looking at the possible line up vs Liberia According to owngoalnigeria and this man has ejuke, chukwueze and zaidu on the bench. I can’t wait for ANC because if he doesn’t reach the finals or win it, he has to go. One of the worse thing a coach can do, is to not select his best available players. Ejuke has been SE best winger this season

Which Ighalo and Iheanacho were his competitors?

Martins and Kayode were better options then but they were ignored due to reasons known to the selectors.
Martins as in Obagoal? You’re dreaming or kayode at turkey league at that point in time?? You’re dreaming again. I am specifically referring to 2019.

Saw this late. Exactly the point.
My guy, it depends on your competitors available. For example, when Osimhen made his debut, his only and main competitors were ighalo and ‘of form’ Iheanacho so, it makes sense that he got multiple chances until he clicked. Now, the competitions for that 9 is saturated because we have lots of inform strikers I.e ighalo, Osimhen, Onuachu, Moffi, Sadiq and Iheanacho. It simply means that you have to maximize any chances and opportunities that you get otherwise someone else will replace you. A player like iwobi has been bestowed with multiple chances for SE simply because there are no available replacement.

You mean a player should go to a lower league and prove he is better?

Which player is going to pray for that?

Sadiq couldn’t do jack in Seria A, why?

He should prove himself first in a top league before he can be regarded.

Before you start thinking I am downplaying him, please remember I was the first to clamor for his invitation to play in the SE when he came to limelight in his first season with Roma.

Internet doesn’t forget.
Of course na. Quality over quantity. If quality of league doesn’t matter, you might as well invite a local player scoring a lot at your street

Sarr is good. Diatta too. Senegal have young strikers too, Habib Diallo was dragging highest goalscorer with Osimhen in Ligue 1 and he's young too. Boulaye Dia is doing it with Villarreal this season. Niang and Diagne are also decent back ups.

Where Senegal really edges us though is in defense. You have K2 who is a world class CB, along with Abdou Diallo competing in a star studded PSG side. Bouna Sarr is at Bayern, Kouyate is at Crystal Palace. Ballo-Toure who is one of the best young fullbacks in Serie A currently at RB. You then have the best goalkeeper in the world currently in goal. Complete backline.

My only problem with Senegal is their coach. The guy is disciplined, passionate etc, but he isn't tactically sound. It has been exposed multiple times, today for example. He is basically a younger version of Rohr tactically. If Senegal can get themselves a coach on the level of Belmadi tactically, they will enter top 10 globally in no time because the talents are there.
On paper, Senegal has the most complete and famous squad in Africa. Their squad on paper is even more famous than their 2002 Famous WC team

Osimhen and Ndidi will not make CAF first 11. That's a fact. Midfield alone has Kessie and Gueye, not forgetting Bennacer and co. You can't leave any of these guys out for Ndidi (Bennacer was the best player last AFCON, Kessie rated as one of the best players overall in Serie A etc).

In attack, Osimhen has not done enough to be considered yet. If he continues in his current form until the end of the season, then we can have that conversation. Mane and Salah must be in the front three, and you can always fill in the last with Zaha, Auba, Mahrez, etc. Hell, even Slimani and Ziyech are rated higher than Osimhen in world football. The reason we celebrate Osimhen so much is that we see his potentials, what he could become in a few years if he is consistent.
For record sake, ndidi is currently rated as the best DM in Africa and one of the best in the world. Even transfermarket ranks ndidi twice the amount of gueye and slightly higher than kessie. The fact that you’re even suggesting that wingers (zaha) ziyech to be played as a CF ahead of osimehn let’s me know that you’re an slowpoke. Please, to some of you trolls that come here to spew ignorant jargons

Liberia vs Nigeria: Why Ighalo Should Start Ahead Of Osimhen On Saturday.
Praizz

Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo was called up to the Super Eagles for their last two World Cup qualifying games against Liberian and Cape Verde.

The 32-year-old striker announced his retirement from the National team after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where he was awarded the Golden Boot after scoring 5 goals in 7 games for the Super Eagles.

However, the former Premier League striker is currently plying his trade with Saudi Arabia club Al Shabab, and he has already scored 9 goals in 11 games for them so far this season.

Nevertheless, Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen stepped up and secured the number 9 spot in the Super Eagles team following Ighalo's retirement, and he has been doing extremely well in that position. And due to how good he has performed for the Super Eagles in recent years, fans would want him to start against Liberia ahead of Ighalo on Saturday.

But I suggest that it would be wise for Gernot Rohr to start Ighalo ahead of Osimhen on Saturday, and I have my reasons for saying this.

Why should Ighalo start ahead of Osimhen on Saturday?

1. Osimhen's recent injury scare: Osimhen suffered a muscle strain in training in October, that saw him miss Napoli's next two games against Salernitana in the Serie A and Legia Warszawa in the Europa League.

He then returned to action in Napoli's 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona where he played 87 minutes of the game. And I think it would be wise to rest him from the start on Saturday and later introduce him in the second half.

2: Ighalo's current form: Ighalo has been on a red hot form for Al Shabab this season, scoring 9 goals in 11 games. So it would be wise to start him in the game to allow him to continue with his good form in front of goals. He is also a big striker as far Super Eagles team is concerned, and as Gernot Rohr has decided to recall him from his retirement, it would be nice to start him as far he is in good shape/foam to start.

Photos: Google.
Ighalo has scored 16 goals in 35 games for the Super Eagles before his retirement, and it will be interesting to see him in action for the National team once again after 2 years
On current form and overall performance, osimehn is Africa best 9 and it will be absolutely ludicrous to bench him for ighalo. Ighalo is here to do similar things that he did at man utd

Anumanu will pick gueye ahead of present ndidi? Ndidi is even worth twice gueye price on transfermarket. Aubemeyang is an African legend, but on current form Osimhen is better. Remember, the argument is “current form 11”
