TheGoodJoe: This is why I don't break my head for the Super Eagles. I just watch ones in a while.
A winger that couldn’t score or assist in 6 games but you’re impressed because of his defensive qualities. Why not just convert him to full back since you love his defensive qualities so much
I just read on owngoalnigeria how rohr is praising Simon moses… it’s evident that, he hasn’t learned his lessons and we should expect similar selections that occurred at wcq at the nations cup…. I don’t know whether to blame rohr, pinnick or myself for having such interest in super eagles
charlesemeka85: German-born Werder Bremen star Felix Agu says he is now open to representing the Nigerian national team and is now waiting to hear from manager Gernot Rohr ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
The versatile right-back was contacted by Rohr to play for the Super Eagles in 2019 but declined the invitation because he was already representing Germany's U21 national team.
Aged 22, Agu's time with Germany U21s is all but up, and he wants to switch his allegiance to Nigeria, where his father originally hails from.
He played only two friendly games for Germany's youth team, hence, he doesn't have to request for a one-time change of association from Germany to Nigeria before wearing the Super Eagles jersey in Cameroon.
Asked the last time he was contacted by Rohr, Agu said to Deich Stube : "I haven't heard anything for a long time. Maybe it will come again.
"At that time I canceled the Nigerian Association because I wanted to go to the German U21s first. Up until then I had never been to the national team and I wanted to get used to it.
"Now my time with the U21 is over. But it wasn't a decision against Nigeria, it was a decision to keep my surroundings that are more or less familiar. Now I am open to the topic."
Agu is credited with 40 appearances in the German 2. Bundesliga and has eight assists to his name, while he has fifteen games under his belt in the top-flight.
Another day, another European reject aiming to use Nigeria as their 2nd option when their 1st option didn’t materialize. I hope that one day, with the success of the likes of osimehn, Dennis, ndidi, zaidu, we can invest into our grassroots and only selects individuals that earned that position by selecting us as their number 1 option..
lakesidepapa: NFF can hire another coach, not now but after afcon, Regardless his team performance. Afcon is in two weeks time, sacking him now will have an effect on the performance of the team.
He should lead the team to Cameroun.
His only saving grace is that, he has met his target thus far. Come ANC, if he doesn’t reach the finals or win it, he can legally be sacked with 100% justification.. it’s sad that we might not get to see our best available players… we should expect collins, musa, simon, ekong
Danielnino00: I was wondering why Moses would be so keen on returning to the super eagles in for a tournament taking place in the middle of the season...Then I remember that the Russian league usually have a long break during the winter...
If he can win us another ANC and qualify us for another World Cup, he can retire again… you should blame the present wingers for not stepping up in over 3 years
Napoleon55: We ain't talking about his career, It's d afcon 2013 alone ,who contributed most, Mba scored arguably our most important goal that gave us the trophy.
But Mikel was our most important player.
Moses was instrumental, but without moses we would still have won the tournament, but u can't say same about Mikel, Without mikel we wouldn't have gone pass ivory coast.
Mikel was the heart of that team. Mikel was the engine room of that team, Mikel was the general in that team. He was the unnamed captain on the pitch. So i give it to mikel not v.moses,
Mba should also b rated higher before moses based on d importance of d goals he scored, not taking anything away from moses contributions.
You see why I insult people sometimes? How can you say that without Moses, we would had won the tournament when we were on the brink of elimination until moses caused Ethiopian goal keeper to concede 2 penalties and then converted both. Without Moses, we would had been eliminated on group stage
Absolutely nonsense. As a winner, your main objective is to always win and you should do everything humanly posssible to win by any means necessary. If a player will improve your team, get him on board because history only remembers “winners”
Napoleon55: All these talk of vic moses being our player of tournament in 2013 afcon is highly debatable. He was immense but there were other players that was equally instrumental to our triumph.
Players like emenike, enyeama, mikel and mba all contributed immensely, But overall,i would pick mikel as our player of the tournament, not taken anything away from moses, emenike, enyeama and mba.
Without mikel in our midfield, there is no way we would have won ivory coast.
Mba score two of our most important goals. Emenike scored some important goals as well. Enyeama kept us from losing some matches.
Moses contribution was huge especially the last group march. But the other major actors like mikel, mba and emenike contributions speaks more volume
Mba, emenike, enyeama and mikel all had a splendid tournament. Even onazi, ideye and the CB also performed good but Vic Moses was our best player in that tournament… of course, things could had been different without mikel in CM or Moses as a Winger
It all started in 2013 when the late Keshi eagles were highly unimpressive at the group stage vs zambia, burkina faso and was touted to be eliminated by the star studded ivorians. A certain victor Moses thought otherwise. He controlled the tempo of the game and delivered a world class performance
Moses was Nigeria MOM and player of the tournament in 2013…. Notable mention to emenike, mikel, Onazi, enyeama
2018 WCQ…. Nigeria is drawn against the number 1th ranked team in Africa (Algeria). 5 times ANC champion (Cameroun) and Former ANC winner (Zambia).. everyone gave up on qualifying for that World Cup until moses showed up again
Summary, when it comes to African football, victor Moses is a King and he will walk into SE 11…. Against international teams worldwide (there’s a doubt)
Ighalo return was simply for experience substitute and motivational purposes but Victor Moses own is NEEDED. He will walk into that 11
I hope report coming through about victor moses return is true because it will be a significant addition to se. Moses has shown previous capabilities of annihilating top African teams like Algeria, cameroun, Ivory Coast, mali and he is currently a known African team slayer. With Victor Moses on board, I am confident that we can defeat any African team……. Also, there are some players that perform much better at their than their club
ideatoprince18: Why don't we call Mikel, Obafemi and Obinna Nsofor..... We should also include Umu Ejima (Kalu and ikechukwu Uche) .... And if Taiye taiwo is still okay we can bring him back ... Not forgetting Daddy Yakubu and that Mumu the kicked a Greece player 2010 world cup that gave him red card!!!!!!
Seriously Nigeria really needs to look inwards ...... There are lots of talents like lots and lots of talents who are serious and can deliver ....
Nigerian club sides really lack scouts .... The ones that are there are full of egunje seeking people.
Since the departure of Okocha over 15 years ago, Nigeria hasn't been able to produce someone with flair or natural talent to dazzle ball .... No wingers that can cause eternal threat to the enemies defence line!!!! .....
Now that we are coming up small small with this young boys that one is saying he wants to come back .... If he comes back he will want to use seniority and start dragging shirt with young boys ..... Mtscheeeeeeeee
As much as I am disappointed with rohr tactics, bad selection and late substitution, I don’t think that, it is wise to sack him now considering that he has met all his target. Let’s wait until ANC is over and if he doesn’t reach the finals or win, you have a logical reason to sack him. Let’s be fair, “good football” “good selection” wasn’t written on his contract
Danielnino00: Kog45.. here's another "straightforward" opinion for you,sir...
Ahmed musa, Moses Simon time at eagles should had been over in over 2 years and they’re only playing because of rohr rigid style of loyalty. As for ighalo, he is there as an experienced substitute and shouldn’t be starting ahead of osimehn or iheanacho
Kog45: Sir,my point is that I cannot start Ndidi and Onyeka together as a coach.
Any good reason why you cannot? Remember how makalele and Veira partnership for France? It was successful. Maybe, we can replicate similar feat between ndidi and frank
Meliforme: Ndidi and Onyeka are different players. Just because Onyeka can slot into the DM role, doesn't make him similar to Ndidi. They show different playing styles and preferences with the ball.
I will play the both of them simultaneously either as a DM/CM or Dm/Dm
ChrisKels: Bro if I tell you I'm still keen on Lookman, then, I am a big liar. There is nothing really special about that boy. He has done nothing in over 3 seasons now.
I use to be crazy about these foreign born players, but over time, they have proven to be nothing but a flash in the pan. They always flatter to deceive. They never last on the stage after making that bursts that brings hypes
Even the much hyped olise only has 1 goal and 2 assist thus far
Dennis has really shocked everyone this season and I didn’t even know that he was this good. For example, lookman an “English reject” that some of you guys were salivating over scored 4 goals in the entire last season while Dennis already has 6 goals and 5 assists. Even iwobi has never had such stats in his entire time at epl… this is a lesson to the likes of Isaac success, iwobi that it isn’t late to rejuvenate
Nigerians are mad by blaming Mourinho for mikel lack of attacking prowess. Mikel played under mourinho as as a dm for 2/5 seasons and if he wasn’t excited about his position, he could had initiated it to his agent and signed for another team after mourinho left. To me, mikel career is a success and no one can tell whether he would had succeed at manchester
Not only are they trying to allow Egypt to regain a top 5 position by extended the WCQ draw until January, they’re also trying to make it a one leg affair in “Qatar” Qatar is like an home field to these North African and we can quite possible have 4 North African teams ranked and also avoiding each other playing at Qatar (Arab advantage). My people are arguing about Lionel Messi and Ronaldo…
So, nobody is saying anything about the corrupt politics that Egypt just played at this time. A whole CAF extended the draw for the World Cup only for Egypt to regain a top 5 ranking and be seeded. While we’re here arguing about messi
Everyone is so enthusiastic about us hiring a foreign manager when our football administrators ineptitude hasn’t been rectified. For me, if we’re going to hire a foreign coach, we also need foreign Football administrators because someone needs to be held accountable for the maladministrations that our football has witnessed recently. Examples of bad football administrators doing 1) Unpaid Coaches salaries 2) Lack of Quality pitches
If we’re not going to hire new Foreign administrators, it is better to just invest in Local coaches and as Nigerians, it’s our duty to promote, uplift, celebrate and advertise our own to the world. Subsequently, they should be encouraged like their foreign counterparts are supported.
Ppogbae: Do we even have the luxury of demanding such? How many coaches on the market have accomplished this feat?
If he doesn’t have a track record of winning then what’s the point of sacking rohr when he rohr met his target. It’s even better to hire a local coach after all what we have to lose?
Get well soon star boy osimehn. But, he needs to stop these habits of missing chances if he wants to be great or even compared to Haaland. He still has time to improve considering his young age. Get well again
