Brabus, what could make this POP ever fall?
Re: The Chateau In Ile-oluji: Our Construction Journal by brabus(m): 3:03pm On Oct 17, 2013
Fhemmmy: Brabus, what could make this POP ever fall?

The roof trusses to which the POP ceiling are installed might develop issues such as rot, deformity and damages from moisture thus causing the ceiling to fall down. It can also fall due to the following reasons:

1. Moisture.

2. The ceiling can also fall or develop issues if the electrician or other tradespeople working inside the ceiling mistakenly step on the ceiling or the trusses.

3. Insufficient brace or support for the ceiling

4. Installation of light fittings which are heavier than the board can also pull it down

5. Roof leakage or leaky pipes in the roof.

@brabus. Those tiles are really beautiful. How much did you pay for the tiles. You have about 3 different tiles. I am about to start the flooring of my duplex. Thanks

Yeah, they are beautiful tiles! I have about 10 different types of tiles to be installed in the Chateau and the cost ranges between N2,500 - N2,800 per sqm (Spanish Tiles)

The tiles are glazed tiles with high-gloss look of a newly waxed floor. The lights reflecting on the tiles can help in illuminating the room where it is installed.

The tilers were able to install the balcony upstairs and also commenced work on another room in the upper floor. Here are pictures from the upper floor balcony.

Hope you'll like the tiles and the colours.

Bedroom door that's truly inviting - The Details

Re: The Chateau In Ile-oluji: Our Construction Journal by brabus(m): 11:11pm On Oct 18, 2013
Preparing through invitation of the experts for the Geophysical Survey of the project site to determine the depth, location and properties of the site. A preliminary site inspection prior to drilling of the borehole.

In the meantime, the welder is busy working on our custom-designed Water Tower.

How we designed the Tower?

While making final choice for the type of tower to be installed at the Chateau, I was faced with dilemma of how to erect the water tower: Is it

1. To lay a foundation for the tower, build a full standing tower, tip it up and get a crane (which is out of the question, since there are no cranes within 25 miles of here) to lift it into place.

or

2. To construct the tower in segments, build a foundation base, and then install the whole edifice in stacks like a telecommunication mast.

Some of my guys on site assured me that I'd be crazy to try the second plan... but I didn't seem to have much choice, so that's the one I chose.
The 9m water tower cannot be transported as a whole to the project site without spending a couple of thousand naira more.
