ComputersRe: Ask Me Any Question On Pc Problems by 1forall: 8:03am On Mar 04, 2007
Ok mukadas, someone gave me an old Dell Optiplex G1 PC 64Mb RAM and 20Gb running Win XP, she believes in me and I dont want to disappoint. The CD ROM Drive (a generic one bought from Otigba) is connected and opens and closes but it doesnt show up in My Computer. In device manager the cd rom entry has a yellow exclamation mark and it says the driver is either missing or corrupt.
Ive uninstalled and auto re-installed but XP says there was an error installing the hardware.
Ive also installed manually from \windows\system32\drivers folder but it says Windows did not find a better driver than the one already installed.
I checked the driver details and I noticed the driver files are cdrom.sys, redbook.sys and storprop.dll so I copied those files from a new Win XP cd to the PC and tried installing from there, no show.
I also copied/extracted the whole driver.cab folder from a new Win XP CD to the PC via flash disk but same story.
What could be the problem, and what can I do?
Remember the cd rom is not working.
FamilyRe: Do I Let Go Of My Son And Risk Losing Him To My Ex-wife (ex Bitch) by 1forall: 4:58pm On Mar 01, 2007
This is a one-sided report and who knows what your wife would have to say but in general, wrong or right,  I understand your love for your son, its only natural for you to want to play your role as a father. Now please realise that you cant raise him by yourself without help. Single fatherhood is more difficult to play than any other so think - if he was with you how will you take care of him? Or is there another woman in the offing? Or are you thinking of passing the task to your parents?

When the heat is on in situations like this people say many things they regret later so worry not about your wife/in-laws utterances but I think theyre blessing you indirectly right now by keeping him cos you need all the time and effort you can muster to put your business and finances aright. Its a shame you have to be in this situation at all but bros, its a void youll have to live with for a while but not for too long.

Burdening yourself too much emotionally isnt good for you/your financial stability cos if youre too busy making efforts to secure custody and youre still broke, you could be giving them good grounds to defeat you in any event. They can ban you from visiting their house but they cant ban you from seeing your son. Show your good intention with persistence by visiting regularly despite their ban afterall they cant arrest you for trying to be a father (if you distance yourself too much you would be giving them a chance to tell the boy negative things about you as he grows). But please dont do anything stupid by applying 'reasonable force' (my opinion) cos theyre not going to sit back and watch you take him, theyre gonna fight back and the whole situation 'll escalate beyond this manageable stage which it is now.

Dont worry, youll still be a part of his childhood, maybe just not as much as youd want. And even though theres no love bw you two any longer, remember she (and her family?) loves him as much as you.

Music/RadioRe: I Need Answer by 1forall: 2:53pm On Mar 01, 2007
Cant say o, for me its same as asking whos better bw 2Pac and BIG.
From my perspective, their styles are different, Dre predominantly produces rap/hip-hop while Timbalands forte is RnB. So its kind of tough to compare let alone say whos better, but both of them are darn GOOD!
No arguments.

Well in my books its unacceptable. People can twist facts and matters here just to suit themselves but I think its a serious matter, thats why he's asking advice here. But, steal from spouse? then keep mum like nothing happened? How can that be justified?
Please lets not forget that the first poster says its a recurring issue o!
FashionRe: 'Ghana-Must-Go' Bags On The Runway! by 1forall: 12:53pm On Mar 01, 2007
Word toshmann, tho is seems none of these fashion+vanity struck women care bout your stance. Big lesson in there for us all: we've had these bags for ages and nobody gave a sh*t bout 'em, now LV uses them and they become a fashion statement! Not entirely our fault sha, its bound to happen when our fashion sense (and much more) is largely derived from the west.
Was the bag was patented? I guess not, or it wouldve been time to make big bucks (and a name) for someone!

Well u cant speak or write good english either so you guys may actually make a great match. When I was in school there were these ugly, semi-literate siblings who were very popular campus-wide cos they were rich. I dont think the prospect of having famous kids sounds too bad, or does it?
Give it a shot, you never can tell. Good luck!

Hey cynthia think, what would Jesus advise you if you asked him that question?

Its definitely not worth it, I assume you normally don't sleep with people for assistance so why are you considering it now? You shouldnt let external pressures and the promise of a career make you do what you wouldnt do normally.

What do you think?

Best wishes and good luck.

Hey no one says u should go around farting, but if it calls when ure together, theres a way to let it go and it'll still be cool thats when you dont make a big deal of it. Bottom line - be relaxed in your partners presence, what manners are you referring to if he can bump and grind you almost whenever??
ComputersRe: Ask Me Any Question On Pc Problems by 1forall: 1:39am On Feb 25, 2007
Ok mukadas, Ive got a PC issue on my laps. My friend subscribes to Starcomms Internet using the EVDO card in his PCMCIA slot on his laptop PC. He subscribed to the service since November and it has worked ok. His laptop is a Dell Inspiron running Win XP Home. He asked me to take a look at it when he noticed last week that the PC would just freeze whenever he inserts the card, if he removes it goes back to its normal working condition, but if he inserts it a second time, it freezes completely and needs to be restarted (for sure).

Now I/we've tried several things. Running a system restore, uninstalling and re-installing the PC Card Modem, tweaking modem settings etc. At a point we decide to disable the default modem which we suspected could be contending for the same hardware resources as the card. Then we inserted the card into the slot and it didnt freeze! We adjusted the modem settings (could only be done when the card was recognised and the PC functioning) and while were reducing the modem speed (bps) it froze again. Despite this the card works well on my own laptop.

Ok it was mind boggling but we decide to backup the data and reinstall the OS (abi?). Now we install Win XP Pro creating new partitions and formatting, and it installed fine, but the PC still froze when the PC Card was inserted! And the card still works well on my own laptop.

What could be the cause of this? and what could be the solution?

Your advice shall be appreciated, thanks!

HealthRe: Hard Curly Hair And Shaving Bumps! Any Cure? by 1forall: 1:24am On Feb 24, 2007
Like david said, find whats good for your skin and stick to it. Before you do anything, have a patient friend (prefereably one with a beard) help pick out the ingrown hairs in each one of your bumps with a good pair of tweezers, it works! If the hairs can be picked out with their roots, the bumps simply disappear! Thats the best cure for the stubborn, old bumps.

Ive tried so many things but found Bumpstopper (anti-bump cream) most effective, use sparingly though lest your skin get resistant to it over time.
Theres Bumpstopper, and theres Bumpstopper 2. Start with the regular one and see how it works before graduating.

For as long as you can, always wash your face before you sleep, best with a face wash but soap isnt bad either.

Shave regularly, at worst every 2-day interval, a bushy beard leads to nothing but bumps for someone with your kind of hair.

Avoid alcohol based aftershave (may be just stay away from aftershave entirely), it stings your skin when you apply it and seals your pores when it dries which blocks the hairs when they start to grow, that leads to more bumps! (my experience).
Best just to apply baby oil slightly after a shave.

Hope that helps, with best wishes.

ComputersHow Do I Remove A Windows Multiple Boot Option? by 1forall(op): 5:14pm On Feb 19, 2007
Hi all, ok I got this little issue I havent been able to get over. I got a client PC at work with three partition C, D & E. The guy setup XP Unlimited huh on C but had compatibility issues with his Modem so I decide to setup a parallel installation of Win XP Pro on a different partition (D) so as to avoid losing all his data. It gets stuck somewhere in the installation for no apparent reason, so I abandon it and install in on another partition (E) which installs fine. I also format the D partition to remove the aborted Windows installation.

Everything's fine now except it now shows 3 (instead of 2) OS options to boot into upon startup. How do I remove the option of the botched installation? Why does it still show up there anyway?

Thanks in anticipation.

I remember Ive heard theres a wasy to bypass the Win XP password but can't remember how.
