Go to my village, Urhobo is spoken 100% but in more cosmopolitan areas with ethnic diversity, pidgin is a necessity.

if you do not know, the vast majority of pidgin English spoken in Sapele and Warri is full of Slang, thats why its diffeent from any other city, we do not add local language to it,

Nigerian Pidgin is regarded by linguists as a variety of West African Pidgin Englishes! Infact, in the Sapele-Warri axis, Pidgin is undergoing creolisation. There are dedicated scholars in Nigerian Pidgin, notable among them is Professor Eghokhare of UI. There are even groups devoted to the documentation and standardisation of the orthography and linguistics of Nigerian Pidgin.

Do you even know there is a dictionary of Nigerian Pidgin?

I bet you don't know there are many books, including literary works, published in Pidgin?

Edo, get Bini, Emai (People from Owan) Afemai & Akoko. All these dialects when you speak am everybody dey understand. You no fit speak Urhobo and Asaba man go understand.


Just like Ijebu Yoruba, Ibadan Yoruba, Oyo Yoruba, Lagos Yoruba, Ekiti Yoruba, Od=ndo Yoruba etc. If dem speak, all yorubas dey understand.
