sadly, they will not listen, unless they come and see the amount of people living in the streets, begging for their next meal. to travel is the FIRST step, the SECOND step is to make sure you can live and work in these places legally, and the LAST step is to find a way to survive in these places. many people can get to the 1st step and then fail miserably because they dont understand that many of these places are not a walk in the park. if it was that easy to succeed in the west, then everyone would be happy there, while we know it aint true.

the unfortunate issue is that, no matter how you tell someone about it, the only way they will learn is by coming and seeing it with their own eyes and empty stomach.

It doesn't matter. Some ppl are scroungers. Besides the US isn't expensive at all, compared to the UK. Houses are cheaper, bills are less.
