After a very stressful day, I got this from WES. I'm just thinking what could have gone wrong. If not for @newmum0615 PPR news, them for take today.
Interesting. But what's the point in insisting on stamped and sealed envelope when they would still send it back to the issuing authority for verification anyway? Na was.

Abeg who be inspector Moshood? And can you guys guarantee that he's not fraud? I've obtained PCC for every country I lived in, all done online with no hassles. Unfortunately this is not the case with Nigeria. I was told I need to come for biometrics. What happened to the biometrics captured for my passport, national ID card, sim registration, and that bank thing? I need help with the PCC abeg. I can't come to Nigeria for just that.

You no know Sina Asebe? The writer who writes beer-parlour stories but wanted to win a Nobel.

Even Joro Olumofin and Linda Ikeja write better than him.
You forgot to add that this Sina Asebe was the only writer who refused to congratulate Wole Soyinka when the literary icon won the Nobel. Sina really thought he was better. And when Sina wanted to die he put all his hate in one last beer parlour story book "there was a country", a mixture of fantasy, falsehood, tribalism, hate and every other vile that characterised his miserable life on Earth.

This was what happened eventually
I said it bro. The ibos are so predictable. You just need to be of average intelligence to beat them. After making so much noise we all know what their every move is. How pathetic. Behind the ibo man's bold-face is an inner insecurity. Deep down he's afraid. Afraid of perceived enemies and his own shadows. He feels constantly threatened by people who are better than him. But rather than work with those people, he would rather start a campaign of calumny and teaching his children to hate everyone including himself.

A reason they hated Chief Awolowo even in his death is the master strategies the sage used in beating them. The late sage singlehandedly decided the war in favour of Nigeria at the comfort of his home, sipping his cocoa tea. When Ojukwu was planning to annihilate Nigeria then, he left the most important part of the equation unsolved.

Should Nnamdi Kanu ever come out if his bunker or wherever he fled to (a source said he has fled to Cameroon), he will only make more trouble for a while before fleeing again. Or he could be born again like his mentor, and contest for a political position in the same zoo he so much hated.

I thought he was a Prince, whatever that means in Iboland because Igbo enwe eze (Ibos have no king).
In my part of the country, a prince doesn't acquire mere chieftancy because a being Prince is a title.

On another note, a ptdf scholarship would be like free money you can't just trow away. In the end the choice is yours to make. If you decide to take the offer, you're better off not coming returning to Nigeria. Forget this "coming out of recession" talk. The mediocrity, corruption and nepotism would make getting a new job in Nigeria extremely difficult.
The options you must consider.
1. As others have mentioned, asking your employer for study leave (without pay obviously, although you can push your luck for a "with pay" study leave)
2. If option 1 fails and you still want to travel, start talking to Nigerians with some experience on how you can remain in UK after study. Trust me, that part is tricky and require well calibrated efforts the first day tou step into UK, except you want to leave everything to chance. Good news is that Nigerians are not that bad. Talk to people and they would offer you invaluable advice within the law.
Best of luck

Pdf scholarship is a full scholarship, with pdf you cannot be stranded. I got it once and after I came back I stayed for years without a decent job. I feel pained each time I remember that experience. But we have different experiences in life. I advice DanXplore to take the scholarship, but start making plans for life after Msc RIGHT NOW! I joke not. I suffered because I was so optimistic about getting a job once I completed my programme but the recession disappointed me in 2009 when I finished my programme.
Good advice from another scholar. Please listen to people who have first hand experience on this matter. There's nothing bad in going to study in the UK. But if you're going there with the hope of getting a better job when you return to Nigeria or making money as a student or immigrating there? Then think again, UK is not for any of that, especially not for someone who already have a modest job in Nigeria.

Okay, you know the man and the amount he earns. You also happen to know that he doesn't know what to do with money in this Buhari's Nigeria. That's okay.

The guy is young and ambitious. Our country has made youth think more about now than future. I understand, it's not our fault. That is what our Government has turned us to. 183k per month will only do some basic things of life but he won't be fully financially liberated with that. I am not saying Masters will automatically liberate him but he could solve a problem during his Masters research work and this will fully liberate and launch him. I think OP needs more knowledge now be it Masters, certifications or any other stuffs.

Knowledge first, money second. Let him seek knowledge when he's young.

Pay now, play later...Play now, pay later
Don't even come with the knowledge thing. Education does not always equate to knowledge nor is it an end to the means. Highly successful people rarely even have first degrees. How come they are successful? If education level directly correlate to success then only professors would be successful, but we both know that there is no billionaire professor.
So brother, a masters degree will not liberate anyone, "automatically" or manually for that matter.
And for your information, a Master's research rarely make significant contribution to the body of knowledge. PhD does that. Most scholars who are interested in research would go directly from a 1st degree to a PhD for that purpose.
Paint it as much as you want, a 183k salary job is better than a UK Masters any day.

it's painful that our environment has transformed brilliant minds to something else. How can u compare free educational advancement to 183k job?
Free educational advancement my foot. Go to this same UK, most of your classmates at postgraduate level will be international students. Majority of locals go to college or at 1st degree at best. What are you talking about?

Continue with your job, if it were to be US I would have ask u to grab the opportunity with immediate alacrity.
Your head is "valid", very "valid". After your immense contribution to UK economy as a Tier 4 student, you get a miserly 4 months post study work. Compared to at least 1 year in other parts of the world. Now what can you do with 4 months? You'll use it in search of job while rents will burn your pocket. In the long run, UK employers will prefer to hire locals or EU because the Tier 2 CoS hassle is just too much for them.

You're still young. Your blood still dey hot. And most likely you have nothing worthwhile doing in Nigeria anyway. So, nothing to lose, nothing at stake for you. My response is to DanXplore and anyone out there who is gainfully employed and earning a modest salary, please stay on that job.
PoliticsRe: Igbos Abandoned Philip Effiong Who Died A Biafra Rebel, Ojukwu Rewarded - Ekefre by 234ng44uk(m): 11:55am On Sep 08, 2017
Kaetoh:
This is a complete and unimaginable falsehood. Igbo business men, home and abroad rewarded General Effiong with huge cash, but the selfless and strict Biafran deputy leader turned it down. Biafra is established on self sacrifice and not self aggrandizement as you have in Nigeria where every Fulani and Afonja, like IBB , tinubu, mko , obasanjo and Buhari thrive on the oppression and blood draining of their wretched subjects. The poor now resort to skull mining and rituals for survival.
I wonder why Colonel Ojukwu didn't turn his own rewards down. Afterall, as you have said, it's a selfless service.

Please, i could use some career advice from great nairalanders. Please tag monikers that you think would be of great help, as i am at a crucial point in my career.

I am a graduate of chemcal engineering but for 2years now, have not gotten any engineering related job. The only job i got was at KPMG (audit), which i resigned after 3 months due to some personal reasons. I am currently an Area Sales Rep with a poultry feed production company that pays 183k per month (net take home after tax and other necessary deductions), though i could use up to 20 to 25k to fuel my car monthly.
Now, i just got a PTDF scholarship offer to study Advanced process integration and design in UK but not really sure if it is worth ditching my current job for it.

I am not very confident about securing a job once i finish msc because only a handful of opportunities come for chemical engineers. more also,UK rarely retains Nigerians.

Please what are your advices, especially from those who have done Msc in Uk.

I need your advices, i dont want to make a costly mistake.
You need sensible first hand experience/advice? Read my lips: Stay on your job. UK graduates now return to Nigeria to drive uber. I've been home for a while now jobless despite enviable UK credentials (1st and 2nd degree.
Bottom line, stay on that job if it's a guaranteed source of livelihood.
