The guy just showed his vague knowledge of Rivers. Theres one thing I've noticed about most people everywhere to them in Rivers is Port Harcourt. Even the dude said no other LGA in Rivers is developed apart from Port Harcourt. That was when I gave up.

Someone in Akpajo now will not know that he/she is already in Eleme LGA, but will be thinking they are in Port Harcourt. Someone in Rumuola does not know that even though they are in PHC they are not in Port Harcourt local government. Even someone in Oyigbo will say they are in Port Harcourt.

We know the name Port Harcourt is popular that's why many dont even know the LGA they are in when in Rivers. They just call it Port Harcourt.

Moreover the city has spread that even someone living in Igwuruta doesnt not know he/she is already in Ikwerre LGA.

The other day a friend came to Rivers to visit his aunt from Warri. He was in Igbo-Etche. He called me to ask me where am I that he is in PH, I asked him where in PH is he and he said Igbo Etche. I had to explain Rivers state to him.

To them everywhere is Port Harcourt. The development has spread that they cant tell anymore.

Ikwerres and their unreasonable quest for money is unparalleled. I could remember in 90's when shell bp oil company wanted to lay water pipes along the street so that rumuokwurushi community people can access a clean tap water 24/7 from their quarters at Aba road. They asked the company to pay for the land they will lay the pipes on. That was how the project was abandoned. The company only decide to construct some taps outside the gate of the quarters so that people can still come and fetch.

Currently akwa ibom is doing better than Delta but u can't compare akwa ibom to Delta. I think Delta is amoung the few state in Nigeria that has more than one major city. Asaba, sapele, warri and even ugheli.

I have traveled through most state in Nigeria and I found out that it's just the capital of the state that's usually develop. Every other local government na just village. Take rivers for example, apart from port Harcourt, there's no other develop local government in Rivers, same with akwa ibom.

Now, given the structure of Nigerias political system and the sentiments attached, when a local government becomes overpopulated, splitting into smaller more-administrative units is almost impossible because of the fear of overhead cost and a distabilizing of the political status quo.

Those mainly are the reason why Ikwerre LGAs will remain 4, irregardless of how populated they become. It does not detract the fact that they are large enough to be split into smaller parts. Though it remains 4, but can be 12.

4. Ishielu LGA ( Ebonyi state) = 872Kmsq
Total= 3514kmsq


Those randomly picked LGAs in Igboland already beat Ikwerreland and we still have many more to spare.
If Ikwerre LGAs were in Igboland they could be one of those LGAs and no one would care. I am sure you haven't heard of most of those listed LGAs before.

I lived in PH for years and I can say that you're correct.

There's no where in the world where the youths are as criminally minded as ikwerre youths. Robbery, cultism, rape, looting etc.

They're the laziest tribe I've ever seen. Despite the advantage given to them (ikwerre youths are favoured when seeking admission in universities in rivers state), they're still poorly educated. All they want is just own a small house, sit down and collect rent till they die.


If ikwerre is going to be part of Biafra, then I'll rather go to Sudan or Niger to get myself another citizenship.
