He would have gotten away with a small slap to his hands. In Nigeria Rape is not such a big deal. His people would have settled with her people out of court.
The "shearing" and blackmail is even more punishable under Nigerian legal system.

That apart,as responsible adults go, the guy is a complete flop. Void of conscience and empathy.

I still do not think the lady deserve any punishment because to me,she acted in desperation and out of hurt and been used,its not a good feeling,you and I are aware of that.

only case which I would recommend punishment for a false rape alarm is when the man in question is completely innocent and that can be proven caring out simple tests on the lady to ascertain if she was truly raped or not....

Sorry, the guy did not destroy her future but she did by herself, why should a reasonable person be sending his/her private part to someone if not for pervertness, and also, does such a lady deserves to be married by a reasonable man.
