The problem is that these scammers do more damage than most people are aware of. E for better if they only target large businesses because those ones get insurance and fit write off any loss in taxes but when you target small businesses, the widows, the common man who managed to save up $100,000 to $200,000 after working 20-40 years this becomes dangerous because those ones end up committing suicide or going into deep depression that affects not only them but their families as well.

For some of you who think say hustle na hustle, imagine you don work 10 years, you don invest all your money in a bank or jewelries and some bloody fool wiped it all out, will you pray for that person or would you personally visit the god of thunder and put a hit on him/her? 9ja people we must rid ourselves of these dangerous scammers/cancers. It might be too late for our generation but imagine your kids and their kids, what type of reputation would they have? To travel out for common vacation they must be interrogated like criminals, even to shop on international websites na wahala....ABEG WE CAN DO BETTER, WE MUST DO BETTER!
Very well said. Just last week I heard a story of a man in his mid 30's who developed HBP and died after his account was wiped clean. You can imagine an able bodied young man just wasted like that cry

The comments above supporting fraudsters and their sympathisers don't know the level of damage being caused by these miscreants.

If you need free light, tell afam to give u free light. You don't expect PHED, a private company to buy energy from Gencos and give you free of charge..
Nobody is asking for free light, am not even based there. All am saying is what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

because they are ask to pay. Is that why they should vandalize the plant. Now we are all buying fuel to power our gen.
Guy, this particular issue was not caused by Afam youths neither was it done at Afam. Meanwhile it's almost fixed since they're testing already.

We're in the same boat

Stop saying what you don't knw.
The area where the TCN installation was affected is not located at Afam. Or do you think that's the only area they have power installations?

AFAM community have been using light for free. The new manager ask them to pay for light they use. The youth went and vandalised the power station
As host community what's wrong if they're given free light?

Go to power host communities in Kainji and Goronyo at Niger and Sokoto States respectively and confirm they use free light too

COdeGenesis:
It's a TCN(Transmission Company of Nigeria) issue so i heard. PHED buys electricity from suppliers, Generation Companies(AFAM). The TCN guys help transpor the electricity. The issue i got to understand is that they said some aboki guys in collaboration with some Rivers sate youths frm the community vandalized five of those big TCN towers, the one in the second picture, that carry High Voltage from the Gencos. So PHED is not at fault here. They cannot give you electricity because the people that supply them are having issues. They scattered the whole thing. When the TCN guys came to replace the vandalized towers, it was alleged that the community guys kidnapped one of them or so. But they are done now. When you hv not used your car for some time, you need to warm it well and there is a probability some parts might develop some issues. Same with electricity, when there hvnt been light for a long time, you need to warm the transformers by give short periods of supply intermittently before finally energizing them. They flashed a couple of times. They said they are patroling their lines to endure there is no fault and by monday they will restore
Noted. The only problem I have with this explanation is the claim that ordinary "condemn iron" Aboki guys vandalized 5 towers... Haba that kind of lie by the TCN guys is preposterous.

It's obvious that they have saboteurs within their ranks else how will the vandals even identify a tower that is not powered up, talk more of having the equipment to dismantle such installation.

People are buying still but they'll not tell you how, Nigerians and information hoarding.
No information is being hoarded, it has been stated several times already.

You have 2 options; you either chat up the seller and persuade him to split your payments (most sellers won't agree to this) or you get a dollar card.

Very predictable move by the bully country.

This will just hasten the likelihood of a third force in the OS market. Huawei is already working on making their Harmony OS open to other Chinese smartphone makers, let's see how it'll fare for Google & iOS when they start switching

Good point mentioned.

I am not supporting either of the cases but to me they are same. They should stop crucifying men dating married women since girls dating married men are free and are hardly criticised .

I'm a realist. So I don't care about any criticism for my comment
The former is less frowned at because there is the legality & possibility of the so-called sugar Daddy turning the side-chick into a wife if he chooses to while in the latter it's a case of Dead-on- arrival since this is not India, I hope you grab?

All this your long story
All you have done is show how possible it is to make money. After that then what?
You buy a bentley and drive it through flooded streets littered with potholes
You build 20 foot fences around your house and cage yourself behind barred
You spend sleepless nights thinking of how to secure your money because you cant trust anyone and honestly life is too unstable. You cant trust anything or anyone.

You are constantly hiding how wealthy you are for fear of being robbed or kidnapped.

My friend some things are more important than money
Leave that guy, some naive persons think just acquiring money is the ultimate goal in life. Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs readily comes to mind.

I personally know an oil worker who earned far above the average Nigerian worker, lived comfortably yet relocated with his family due to insecurity, poor healthcare and general toxicity of our environment etc in a bid to secure a better future for his kids.

I've bought 3 phones via Nairaland, the first being more than 5 years ago.

Then we didn't have this much scammers parading the place so I sent money to Elijahdre and he had it waybilled, everything done by phone calls.

So if you've trust issues I'll advise you look for a seller who reside in your town/city for a direct transaction.
