fibonacci2526: We keep hammering on premium tempered glass, not the one that is poor in quality that will want to make you smash your device on the ground. Try a nilkin tempered glass(should be around ₦5k) and come back to modify your statement. There are grades to literally everything.
@the bolded that you have never seen doesn't mean it's untrue, a lot of folks around me use premium phones and they all have a form of protection on their phones. Not everyone loves seeing those ugly scruffs or those tiny scratches on their phones which are most times inevitable when your screen is naked. You see it's not about being "careless", Spot on |

madgoat: Spot on bro. This is exactly what i have been saying. My fone is a living testimony too. Tampered glass only offers an illusion of protection and nothing in reality. Once the force is hard enough, the screen will crack whether it has tampered glass or not. All those forces that crack the tampered glass without cracking the screen is because the force was not hard enough to have affected the screen in the first place. Boss, I quite disagree. Order those 3,500k+ tampered glasses from reputable brands on AE and you'll change your opinion. They don't crack around the edges, distort the clarity of the display and offer the advertised protection. |

Tiger2020: and i have only used 2 TG on my nearly 2yrs RN5,not that the first one was bad but because i felt like changing it to a more fitting one Am surprised why the relevance of tampered glass is down played too my brother Folks against TP glass should rather use original, high quality tampered glass like Nilkin, not those 500 bucks type and see the difference. It's just like someone using 50 bucks gold circle cōndôm & saying sekx with protection is not sweet Even cóndōms sef get levels, when lambskin cōndôm is like skin to skin |

You try small in cooling my mind sha...
But can someone please give me(us) a genuine review of the pros and cons of the Amoled thing, as per personal experience.
Anyone, please? Personally I think it all boils down to luck. Both issues you highlighted above affect both screen techs respectively. AMOLED screens suffer burn-in while LCD screens suffer screen bleeding. Much like you've the back axle vs front wheel drive debates in cars. But then a person may see an issue manifest in his screen even unboxing his device while another will use same model for donkey years without any issues whatsoever. |

Please let's not start an AMOLED vs LCD war, we've been through this topic uncountable times.
Both screen tech has it's own merits and demerits which their respective fans are already aware of.

Yes the seller may have some units in stock but this is definitely not the official channel. When Jumia gets it in stock it'll be officially sold by Jumia Express and not some 3rd party seller. Mckandre: did u even read the second definition of flagship? Nd see how contrary its with ur assertion. Boss, I thought we've passed this already? As it stands now whatever a person can afford is his/her flagship. It doesn't matter what the OEM chooses to call it. Cheers and stay safe |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 3:19pm On May 11, 2020 |
Bahddo: lol. Nah, you still don't get my point. The Webster screenshot I sent earlier you didn't get past the first part of the definition. Seems things get lost in translation with all the back and forth debate. Take a look at your Paddy's screenshot and what I stated earlier? These are all marketing terms to justify the various segments of customer needs. It's not cast on stone that a flagship must be a single device. Stay safe man, over and out.

Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 2:04pm On May 11, 2020 |
Bahddo: 'high-end' != 'flagship'
You are talking about high-end devices but it's okay though, we can agree to disagree. The subject isn't worth the argument. That word high-end was created by OEM marketers with respect to market segmentation. The flagship itself is a high-end device. Just like social stratification, device categories are mainly split into 3; entry level ->mid range->high end etc Along the line subcategories were created within these 3 categories. Don't let fancy marketing words throw you off. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 1:57pm On May 11, 2020 |
fibonacci2526: I don't know how I can explain to y'all that a company can have more than one flagship device at the same time. Quoting the literal meaning of flagship from the dictionary doesn't always apply to phones.
The S and note series have always been known as the flagship devices for Samsung. Can you tentatively say the s20 ultra is better than the s20,s20+ in all ways or that the mi 10 pro beats the mi 10 in all areas too? OEMs produce flagship devices tailored for different people. Lol, the dictionary actually explains it like you did on the first sentence. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 1:50pm On May 11, 2020 |
festwiz: Thanks a lot bro. People tend to misuse the word for any high-end device. True, OEM marketers have been throwing up fancy words to push their sales thereby confusing consumers. But let's not debate just for the sake of it. The word "flagship" is a naval/military word which implies the ship carrying the Commander in a naval fleet or group of ships flying his flag. This can also be used to correlate the meaning when used on a product or range of products. With these few points of mine I hope I've been able to prove to you that a flagship is not necessarily a single item of a product released within a product's life cycle?

Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 1:35pm On May 11, 2020 |
Bahddo: well, technically he's right. Flagship is THE BEST from an OEM, the leading phone in terms of features and quality same way a literal flag ship is a side's main or most important ship in naval warfare.
When a new set of phones are released by the OEM with better specs, the new 'best one' becomes THE flagship, and the former is relegated to terms like 'last year flagship'.
There's technically only one flagship at any time, and although many people interchange 'flagship' with 'high-end' or premium', they don't mean the exact same thing. I don't think Samsung follows this rule since they released the Note series. We both know they max out the top S series and Note series of every given year so you can't really say it's just 1 flagship device per year. Other OEMs too have long abandoned the idea of a sole flagship per year. |

BoluwajiPieters: I still don't know why Sammy will do an exynos variant of their flagships though when they know it'll still fall below in some aspect of performance when compared to their SD alternatives. Profit maximisation bro. They usually offer different chipset based flagships of same model to different markets. SD versions usually go to America and EU markets while Exynos mostly gets released in... You guessed it right Asia, MEA markets i.e. Middle East and Africa |

Why not start by genuinely entering into platonic relationships with single, amiable, working class & matured ladies with a view of taking it up a notch higher if it hit the right notes?
