Nairaland / General / TONY TALKS - With Hon. Muyiwa Owadara by 2onymontana(m): 11:44pm On Nov 07, 2020
Hon. Muyiwa Owadara (RMD) Representative for Oshodi/Isolo was my guest on INSTAGRAM LIVE yesterday. RMD, a politician, philanthropist, CEO and mentor left no words unspoken throughout the 2-hour INSTAGRAM LIVE.

The conversation covered aspects from his personal climb to success, as well as unveiling the side of his empathetic spirit that led him to aspire for the office of service to others especially the people of the Local Government Area which he represents.

He particularly showed keen support for the recent youth movement that swept across the nation like a tsunami and the diaspora at large and shared his obvious views about them.

He had valid views and a workable roadmap that could lead the youths to their desired destination. And also share insights on his current work in his LGA and how anyone can support.

It's a must-watch video:

Nairaland / General / Tony Talks #endsars With Muyiwa Owadara (RMD) by 2onymontana(m): 10:27pm On Nov 05, 2020
I know the US elections are going on at the moment and all eyes are currently glued to the polls and yours devices all in a bid to achieve the common goal of kicking the twitting tyrant out of the WHITE HOUSE.

However, we have more pertinent issues facing us in NIGERIA than Trump and his Twitting fingers, one of which is the conversation regarding the current and aftermath effects of two weeks of protest by the #endsars protesters all across the Nigeria and Diaspora .

To that effect, this week on INSTAGRAM LIVE I’ll be talking to one of the most vibrant youth leaders from Oshodi/Isolo constituency Honourable Muyiwa Owadara @honourablermd to share his thoughts on all the current events that’s recently taken place in Nigeria and what his idea of a way forward is.

It promises to be a blast You don’t want to miss this. #tonytalks #tonywilliamms #honourablermd #mindsetmentorr #endsars #endpolicebrutality #endbadgovernanceinnigeria #endsarsbrutality #oshodi #isolo #letstalkaboutit

Politics / TALKS - #ENDSARS With Wale Legunsen by 2onymontana(m): 12:27am On Nov 02, 2020
If you missed Friday's Instagram LIVE with Wale Legunsen, where we addressed the recent #EndSars unrest in Nigeria, here's another opportunity to take a look at it again.

Wale took us down memory lane, with an in-depth evaluation of the obvious evidence that's been plaguing Nigeria for the last 60 years. (Leadership).

He spoke about the massive trust deficit and the adverse effect that bad leadership has had on the country for the last 60 years and how the youths of today being well exposed to the global community through education, internet and worldwide travel will totally refuse to settle for less than their global counterparts, nor allow the government to continue to rule them with the same yardstick used on generations before them.
He gave simple but practical tips that could be adopted as a roadmap to leverage on the wheel of change which the genuine #EndSars protest put in motion over the last couple of weeks.

Wale ended with extreme optimism about the future of Nigeria if we all put our hands to the deck and push for this change collectively. It's a wealth of knowledge for whoever cares to listen.

Nairaland / General / Number 5 Rule For 2019 by 2onymontana(m): 2:09pm On Dec 30, 2018
If you’ve been doing only the things you are comfortable with, and the change you desire has failed to materialise like that which APC has been offering, then it’s a no brainier that something really has to be done aggressively to effect and bring about that change, and you are the the only variable in making that happen.
.
Here’s a trick, write down all the things you feel uncomfortable with, or have felt uncomfortable with doing this year, especially those that you know are, were, or remain important to you....and then try and start doing a couple of them. and don’t give up on doing it till you know you’ve got comfortable with doing them. (Practice makes Perfect).
.
Many times we focus on our strengths more than our weakness. Without realising that if we focus and work more on our weaknesses and on things we feel uncomfortable doing, we become more brave and stronger in those areas, literally turning those weaknesses into strengths.

Nairaland / General / Number 4 Rule For 2019 by 2onymontana(m): 1:54pm On Dec 30, 2018
If you’ve never had a mentor or a coach then you’re are truly missing out on the invaluable experience, perks, benefits, and the totality’s of all that comes with having one.
.
However, if the cost of hiring one of these lean on the high side for you; Simply find yourself a true friend, or relative that you could be accountable to during the course of the year pertaining to all the task you set for yourself.
.
Most importantly make sure this person isn’t someone who sucks up to you. But is someone who will dish out your undiluted truth to you as of, and when it’s necessary.
.
If your still struggling to find any of these, DM me and let’s have a little chat.

Nairaland / General / Number 2 Rule For 2019 by 2onymontana(m): 3:16am On Dec 29, 2018
Listen up mate, there’s absolutely no need to try and position yourself to win in 2019 (Number 1 Rule) if you’re NOT going to believe in yourself that you’re capable of winning.
.
Don’t just go into 2019 to simply make up numbers, rather, go into 2019 to create impact and make a difference to yourself, and your immediate and wider sphere.
.
And don’t use the flimsy excuse that you're believing or waiting on God or any other mystical figure or deity which you can’t see, when you simply cannot even believe in your own mental and physical capabilities that you can see and that God has given you. “Heaven helps those who help themselves”
.
It’s one thing for people to believe in you, it’s a whole different ball game for you to develop the ability to believe in yourself. Developing this attitude literally means going to war each and every single day against your own mental, physical, and societal limitations. Knowing; “if it’s got to be, it’s up to me”
.
It’s hard, but it’s not impossible; Believe in yourself, prepared your mindset for the challenges that will show up in the course of the year as you embark on the journey of achieving your purpose.
.
Don’t wait until it starts to look all perfect before you start believing, the truth is, It’s never going to be all perfect before you breakthrough, however, you are required to try and be as perfect as you can in all situations well ahead of your breakthrough.
.
Remember the battle begins right there in your very own mind. You win or lose the objective in your mind.
.
Use your strength to challenge your manhood this coming year. Be dogged!! DON’T RETREAT, DON’T SURRENDER!!.
.

Nairaland / General / Number 1 Rule For 2019 by 2onymontana(m): 2:55am On Dec 29, 2018
Don’t wait till the 1st of Jan 2019 before you start hatching out your contingency plans.
.
Start tying up your shoe laces from now in order to hit the ground running ‍♀️ in the New Year.
.
Get your body, mind, spirit and plans all right and in place.
.
Start differently from how you’ve started every other year, get a head start this year. Place yourself, (mind, body and spirit) in a position to WIN in all areas of your endeavours in 2019.
.
Bet all you have on yourself in 2019 to be a winning year for you once again.

Nairaland / General / Law Of Creation In Action by 2onymontana(m): 8:24am On Sep 30, 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IH1cjhF_oc
The law of attraction is simply that everything we have coming into our life is there because of the thoughts, energy, and beliefs we labour around ourselves, hence what we have in our life is what we attracted to ourselves on some level.
In order for the law of attraction to work perfectly for us, all our thoughts, energy and beliefs alongside our physical actions have to be in sync and align with each other....Failure to do this, simply means we're countering our intentions, as a result, we'll only attract those counter intentions that are dominant on our mind or that we're unconsciously thinking about.

Many people are only familiar with the law of attraction without understanding that it works hand in hand with the law of creation. The law of creation in its simplest form is about taking action.

we must take some sort of action in order to manifest this energy, ideas, or feeling that our mind attracts to us from a source.

Http://tonywilliamss.com.  Fear is the number one killer of many of our dreams, it is a sucker of energy and vitality, and diminishes our lifestyle and confidence. The combination of worrying about life, money, relationships, sex, exes, could easily leave one drained out and tired over time.
Fear is the number one killer of many of our dreams, it is a sucker of energy and vitality, and diminishes our lifestyle and confidence. The combination of worrying about life, money, relationships, sex, exes, could easily leave one drained out and tired over time.
Hence it's a life skill to learn how to manage or eliminating fear or eliminate fear or to simply be fearless.

To be able to develop ways in which we learn to navigate our life pass these minefields of fear or totally eliminate the aspect of fear in our life is what I speak about today. Recognising fear for what it is, and the damage it can do to one's progress in life, the pain it leaves and the untapped inner resources that it prevents us from reaching is in my opinion enough to find ways of tackling this number one dream killer of man, as suppose to just living with it as a happy companion and accepting everything it plants and dictates to our mind.

Life is not a joke, except to jokers….How we live our lives and the impact we make in life is serious business, therefore everything we allow to occupy our mind and body should have a rightful reason to be there, and as for me being fearful, worried or unduly concerned is not one of them and has no place in my schedule. So finding a way of learning and developing skills to manage it temporally, with the view of totally eradicating all elements of fear in my life as now become paramount.

Nairaland / General / Definiteness Of Purpose by 2onymontana(m): 7:22pm On Aug 13, 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwOhRi1JxN4

Definiteness of purpose is the starting point to all individual achievements. Definiteness of purpose has to be followed by a definite plan for the attainment of that purpose.

To achieve anything in life we have to have a purpose, we have to have a plan and we have to develop an actionable steps in order to carry out that plan.

Generally there are certain elements we'll need to put in place for us to be certain we will achieve our desired outcome, which in this video I try to deal with a few, some of which are our motives for the purpose, the way we program our thought towards our purpose, affirmations, faith and the path our sub conscious mind plays in all of this.

In next week's video, I'll be dealing with the benefits we can gain by having a definiteness of purpose.

Don't miss it !!!

I tried to explain the part that positive thinking and the power of our thoughts plays attaining our desire for specific situations and ultimately shaping our destiny.

I hope you enjoy the video.

POWER OF OUR THOUGHTS 2

Much is always even said about the power of our thoughts or and how our thoughts can affect out character, our purpose in life, our personal well-being and even factor in to the level of achievements or accomplishments we attain in life. In todays post, I try and present the notion that our thoughts are the most important thing that shapes our life, and that within those inner thoughts that we plunder on inside our head and mind lies the seeds that outwardly turn in not our character, our actions, our circumstance, our personal health and well-being and views in which the world defines us as a failure of a success.

Nairaland / General / Knowledge For The Next Stage by 2onymontana(m): 1:17am On May 06, 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACMYf2I9zNY

It’s inevitable that many of us would have at one point or the other experienced the hard knock of failure or rejection during our lifetime. Failure is often misinterpreted by many as a stopping point or a place where we throw in the towel or hang up our boots, instead of it simply being a checkpoint to gain knowledge and understating on how to approach the task at hand in a better way.
Gaining knowledge about a goal, purpose, plan or the changes we want to see in our life or career helps us to either avoid failure or acts as an encourager to us when we find ourselves at the point of giving up.
Join me this Friday at 9pm GMT when I discuss the importance of gaining the proper knowledge in any area or field of desire we want to achieve, the knowledge that will enable us to build confidence and a solid frame of belief in ourselves, towards achieving or plan, purpose or desired outcome.

Nairaland / General / Easy Tips On How To Take Decisive Action by 2onymontana(m): 11:42pm On May 03, 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEwr14xEQMs

Taking decisive action is easier said than done, we normally would have to get to a stage where we realise the consequences of our inaction on our life before we are pushed to take the necessary course of action to make a change.

However, many times when we believe we're taking actions to move or propel us forward, we are actually just rotating on the same axis and not really getting anything done.

In todays post I'll try and highlight the significance of taking action, and in-action, how, when and in what circumstances we need to take action, and the difference between actions that would bring an end result and those actions that keeps us in motion, and yield zero results.

Positive Relationships are extremely important once we’ve decided that we want to make a shift from one way of life to another, holding on to relationships that are toxic or that are bad for us literally leaves us trying to move onwards in life with a weight around our neck.

The right thing to do will be to evaluate all our relationships, and figure out the positive and negative ones, then choose which ones we want to drop or keep.

In this Vlog I talk about the difference between harbouring positive and negative relationships and the adverse or positive effect such relationships can have on our life, I also speak about the significance of surrounding ourselves with quality people, that act as support systems and allow us to benchmark our personal development and achievements against.

Webmasters / Re: 7 Things To Do After Publishing A New Blog Post by 2onymontana(m): 12:17pm On Apr 18, 2017
Awesome post, almost everything covered,

I think the only bits left out were scheduling, SEO, consistency and finding the right niche

Scheduling in simple terms is getting your post, vlogs or tweets out all at the same and specific times all across
your social media platforms.

A good SEO we all know is pivotal in google ranking your post and site, as well as enabling readers to find you
through the most common search for key words use in that niche or category.

Niche: Ensuring your blog, post or website is targeted at the right niche is also equally important to gain the right traffic to your post
and blog

http://www.tonywilliamss.com The process of undergoing the transformation of our mind, habits, religious beliefs, mental reasoning or logic to a point where we truly begin to find ourself and our true purpose in life is possibly one of the hardest things for most people to undergo successfully.
With so many things holding us back, from facing the truth about ourselves and ultimately finding ourselves and our true purpose in life, most people simple settle to living an average life, perhaps scared that if they search within themselves too much they might shine light on areas they don't won the world to see.
In essence, reaching a crossroad of decision, where we have to search deep within ourselves to find an answer that put us on the journey to finding or discovering our true self, literally questions every single one of our core beliefs, know how's, mental reasoning and educational background.
Every person however one day will find themselves at a crossroad of an important or life changing decision at one point in life. But whether they're bold enough to make the right decision at that point without any external influences overriding their core beliefs and integrity over that decision determines if they've found themselves or not.
When we haven't yet found our true self and purpose in life, we are literally living, working and helping someone else to build and fulfil their own dream, and not living our very own life to the fullest.
Listen in, to todays video as I describe briefly a few out of the many different circumstances that led me to my crossroad of decision and how those decisions enabled me to find myself and led me to start the journey of my life's reconstruction.

The process of truly finding yourself is probably one of the hardest and most difficult steps for us to take as humans, with many of us living our lives in the shadows of others, or to impress others, or simply pretending to be what we're definitely not.
It takes a bold and courageous person, standing at a crossroad of decision to re-evaluate his or her life after reaching a particular point, and then decide to make a change for the better, regardless of all the external challenges and ridicule he or she might suffer for taking that bold step by those who don't understand your purpose.
The truth is only you and you alone are responsible for your life, and it's only when we choose and decide to do things truthful from our heart that we've begun the walk on the real journey of living a fulfilled life.
Join me this Good Friday at 9pm, as I share with you the circumstances that led me to that crossroad of decision, the mind battles I had to fight with myself, the relapses I had, the benefits it brought me, and how I've stayed true to my decision ever since.

The views shared are based on my experiences and perspectives in my journey of life, my failures, success, my road to reconstruction and the benefits of what making certain decisions at specific times of my life have brought to me physically, mentally, spiritually and financially.
In these videos, I share tips and tricks on how people could use this same mind and inspirational personal inbuilt tools within us to make changes to their situation or circumstance regardless of where they currently find themselves in life.
My passion is to see as may people regain their lost dreams, hopes, passion and profits and I can assure you that once we begin to lock into the knowledge of the power we have within ourselves, we’ll begin the see the expected result in record time.

Risks are not that scary once we've taken them. If we take a risk and fail at it, that certainly doesn't put our current part or career on an indefinite pause, we could pick it back up right where we originally left it. And also find satisfaction in the fact that we've at least given it a shot, and also to our advantage, we've now figured out at least one way that what were trying to do won't work.

Nairaland / General / The Art Of Knowing Yourself. Pt2 by 2onymontana(m): 3:33pm On Mar 14, 2017
The ultimately goal of discovering ourselves is to align ourselves with our exact purpose and destiny. When we get to that stage where we finally recognise our purpose in life, everything we do or engage in is based on us becoming a better person, with a mindset that's constantly seeking to find meaning into how our actions affect or impact the wider people around us.

These are the times or stages when our mind is constantly focused “on-becoming” and never at a stage where we think to ourselves that we have temporarily arrived.

The journey to discovering ourselves and our purpose creates within us the willingness to live a well-lived and fulfilled life, and with that willingness comes the need of understanding that to live a fulfilled and well-lived life, we are always on a journey and never at a destination. The quest to create positive impact on our immediate environment becomes our unquenchable drive, urging us to empty everything inside of us for the benefit of others. Read More:

However, discovering ourselves can be one of the hardest things for most of us, with many of us never being able to figure out our true nature or identity all our lives, but remaining in the shadow of others and never breaking free into our own. As a result, many people find it easier to get security in the comfort of an average Job, average wage, average family, and everything average, which basically creates an average fortress around our lives which we struggle to break out of.

In the willingness to break free from that false sense of security and into our larger and rightful self, we inevitably have to begin the process of discovering ourselves, and that process of learning to discover or understand ourselves is never complete or thoroughly done without us having to revisit or tracing our life back into our past, from the families we've grown up in, to our childhood's bad experiences, bad relationships, broken marriages, all those bad experiences and pain we've experienced in our past life up until this point, in a way, they tend to seems like they have been long gone and forgotten, but the truth is, they have just been put away in hidden compartments within us, only to reappear when we are exposed to situations or challenges that remind us of them.

You know, it’s like waking up one morning and finding yourself stuck on a tree top, one of the easiest ways to get down from the tree safely is to retrace the way you got up to the top of the tree in the first place. I said this because, most of us suddenly wake up in our middle age and realise, damn, we're men, and were all of a sudden faced with all these huge responsibilities, Families, wives, kids, bills etc..many were never schooled, thought or advised how to become men while growing up.

So when taking a look back into our past, we need to be rest assured that we will certainly come face to face with those ugly elements of our past which we have locked away and never want to remember. Ugly elements that when we re-enact people wonder if we are the same person because of the different side of us that spills out as we exhibit traces of these bad experiences from the past.

The truth is, though these bad experiences are ugly, painful, depressing and never a very pretty sight, it’s important that we confront them head on so we can lay them to rest...and not just that, but also to enable us quit placing blame on the causes of these misfortunes, but importantly so we can move forward with our lives and step out of the boxes of limitations these dreadful experiences have kept us in.

And though we exhibit these character traits through our actions from time to time, giving opportunities to others to label or stereotype us as they discern, the actual root or seeds of these character traits begins in our brain. The human brain they say is like a meadow, where the first trail that rolls across it leaves a path that flattens the grass, the second and third trail that follows the part of the first, flattens and engraves the part a little more each time a trail is rolled by, to the extent that when other trails are about to cross the meadow, they simply follow the flatten parts of the previous trails, rather than seeking a route of their own, which is exactly how our perceptions work also, in this simply analogy, it's easy to see where the phases like practice makes perfect, or whatever the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve come from.

With that in mind, it's quite important to always remember that if the experiences of our past that are not confronted and dealt with, they prevent other creatives thoughts we have from discovering their own path through the meadow of our mind field, this somehow is a reason why most of us will have set goals or have big scary audacious dreams, which we never carry out or see through, as explained earlier, they are simply at the mercy of the paths that the previous experiences created through the meadow of our mind-field for them to follow ….
Which is why it is also said that one cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results. That then is like a brooding hen sitting on some china eggs expecting it to hatch one day, common sense make us understand that it will never hatch no matter how long it sits on it.

When we know and have discovered ourself, we shouldn't be caught fighting old battles long after peace should have reigned, the process of self-discovery, knowing and recognising ourselves is harder to achieve if we continue to hold on to the ugly past that’s kept hidden within us which ultimately becomes relevant to our future and moving forward.

If we don’t face up to them, they tend to fade away, only for a while, till someone, something or somewhere triggers and stirs them up in us again, and even though we might have thought we've dealt with that episode of our life before, l'll find ourselves dealing with it repeatedly over and over again, examples are, abusive husbands, serial cheats, drug addicts, gambles etc.

The major thing to factor in always when dealing with our bad experiences and demons of the past is that, they cannot be defeated, they can only be confronted, dealt with, and laid to rest #OurDailyDose

Nairaland / General / The Beauty Of Knowing Yourself by 2onymontana(m): 1:14pm On Mar 08, 2017
I guess one of the greatest needs of most people, is the need to be loved, yes, loved, loved by our families, friends, our loved ones, our spouses or partners, employers and colleagues, all of us want to experience the feeling of love in most areas of our lives, we tend to belief that being loved by others, gives us some form of general acceptance by the outer world.

The problem is, with everyone looking for love outside or away from our very own self, we don’t take time to find out how to love and accept ourselves for who we truly are, which ultimately gives birth to us not being capable of knowing how
to love others without reservation, and at worst, making it almost impossible to discover our true purpose and potential in life because we don’t know how to love ourselves first.

The fact that we all like to put up appearances, from time to time, of how we are good people, generous, kind hearted, purpose driven, God fearing, charming and don’t have a care in the world, means we find ourselves constantly concealing the truth of the most ugly and shameful traits we don’t want the world to see in the vault of our hearts and minds, and failing to understand that if we continue to conceal these ugly paths of our lives, its highly impossible to change our future or make it any better than our past.

Just in case we choose to intentionally forget or take zero notice of it, the act of trying to keep up appearances, withdraws an enormous amount of creative energy from the economy of our body, and part of that withdrawal also includes taking along parts of our original personality and depriving our original self of its very own unique richness and vitality.

In short, it’s impossible to fulfil our full potential if we want to continue living what we are not, or copying other people’s lifestyles. In life, we possibly can only fulfil our true potential by knowing exactly who we are and embracing it, discovering that self-awareness of one, and nurturing it with the true self love it deserves, in order to restore its richness and vitality, then, and only then, will we thrive, be always confident and be fulfilled within ourselves like someone who’s just got a round of great sex.

To be able to live in that constant state of self-love that will enable us fulfil our true purpose and potentials, we need to pay attention to a few things, normally on the face of it, we probably think there’s nothing to it, being that most of us could easily say, we know who we are, and are living the life we want to live, but the truth is, if a buggy maker only thought as far ahead to the fact that they were in the transportation business or industry, they would end up becoming car manufacturers, and not merely settling and using all their resources and R&grin simply to manufacture buggies. Being able to self-examine who we are and having a core understanding of who we should be as individual is the first steps to fulfilling our purpose and destiny in life.

And, it’s not enough to say, I am a Doctor, Lawyer, Account, Civil Servant or whatever one’s job title is, that’s simply what you do, or in other words, to be mistaking our attributes for our essence, and to make the mistake of mixing up what we do, for who we are, means we don’t really have a clue who we are.

If all of that begins to make any sense to you, and you for a minute took a thought to think about “who you are” or “who am I” or what life have you been living all these years, or perhaps your thinking there must be a better way to live a more graceful, intelligent and decent life than what we’re living now, then be not dismayed, it’s a difficult and uphill task, that needs constant self-evaluation and monitoring, Why?

The problem here is that, it’s always so difficult to really know who we are as individuals, as self cannot really examine self without being bias or prejudice, just like the metropolitan police or any form of authority wouldn’t be left to examine or purge themselves from wrong doing, rather an independent body is created to examine them and put them in line or in check. It works the same way with individuals, life is not to be examined and understood by the person living it. Having said that, I still and also strongly believe that all that really counts, all that brings lasting happiness, all that’s truly decisive in a well lived and fulfilled life, is the individual’s relationship with his or herself, as everything else he or she does in life is simply a general reflection of how he or she sees, knows and understands themselves. #OurDailyDose

Career / Appoint Yourself A Personal Board Of Directors by 2onymontana(m): 12:40pm On Feb 28, 2017
Every successful company or organisations operates with a set of board of directors, BoD's are a set of individuals elected or selected to act as representatives for the company's shareholders, or the group of people the company’s actives are accountable too. It’s extremely rear to find a well established company or organisation that either doesn’t have a board of directors or a board of trustees that oversee its affairs.

As individuals, in other to achieve our full potentials I believe we should also surround ourselves with a personal set of individuals that will act as a sort of personal board of directors to our life affairs. They could be our friends, family, spiritual leaders, close relations, mentors, confidants etc. Numbering between 2-5, they'll be people who we could turn to for guidance in times of need, conflicts, personal dilemmas, life transitions, crossroads, in search of personal goals, and so on… They should be people who we deeply respect and admire their opinions, values and won't want to let down under any circumstances, and in return people that we know have our best interest at heart.

Its practically impossible for me to begin to explain all the advantages of having a personal board of directors who we're accountable too from time to time, we'll come to realise that if their present in our life is used correctly, they'll be there routing for us when we're experiencing the ups and there supporting and advising us when we're going through some downs turns also.

If we carefully select a group of individuals to act as a personal board representing our life affairs and who we're accountable too, they could easily serve as an instructor to preserve our core values in life, act as an encourager, a motivator, or even a counsellor in difficult circumstances.
The scriptures even tell us there is safety in a multitude of counsellors, and that doesn’t me they have to share the same background, beliefs or perspectives as we do, they simply just need to meet the standards of thoughtfulness, experience and insight that one desires, They must be compassionate and generous enough with their time to accommodate ones issues as of and when one needs their assistance, I suggest importantly to appoint or select people who are not judgemental yet strong in their opinions and views.

Overall, one major benefit they can bring to our self-development process is wisdom and knowledge to grey areas of our life’s, they can help, challenge or push us to reach heights we cannot reach by ourselves, whilst also giving us the added benefit of access to their own very lives, exposing to us the very real secrets reasons why we've deeply respected and selected them to our board in the first place. #OurDailyDose

Nairaland / General / Never Give Up by 2onymontana(m): 12:46am On Feb 24, 2017
It’s easy to for us to agree with one accord that these days most things are not built to last, whether it be technological gadgets, like smart phones or tablets which are manufacture to constantly require upgrades to newer software’s or be it the fragility of the same gadgets, making the cost of repairs of a damage handset costing around a third of the total gadget price. However we look at it, we come to find out that almost everything we’ve started, created or built these days ends up fighting to create a future for itself; i.e. one studies and gets good grades or a degree at college or Uni, yet one finds themselves struggling for the same job or position with someone whose half as qualified as one is, one nurtures a long time relationship with a partner into marriage, and that’s only when someone else begins to admire your spouse, and wants to destroy the relationship, with so many more examples one could give, we tend to realise in the world today, there’s an intense global competition for sustainability in all areas of our lives.

So, with all this global competition and with almost a million things seeking for our attention on a daily basis, it’s important we discover and pick our course, and secondly be determined to endure through the ups and downs of our chosen course till we reach the peak, I mean, just because one stumbles or gets smacked in the head by misfortune or adversity doesn't mean one should succumb to the pain and pressure of that knock or setback to our journey, purpose or plan.
The truth is, we don’t fail or are classed as a failure because of bad hand were dealt with in life, or by our environment or even by our upbringing, we fail or are classed as failures because of the mindset of not wanting to get back up from those knocks that hit us or deciding to prevail through our adversities.

We don't have to wait till we fall into a position of what I’ll call utter irrelevance or hopelessness before we decide to take a stand for our future, our very own future is counting on us to take a stand for it too. Stop blaming people, friends, family, the environment and all sorts, they’re all looking for someone or something to blame too. Plus, it really doesn't matter which lens we want to look at the situation through, lens of those who’ve failed or succeeded, those in adversity or who have prevailed or those living or dead, one thing remains constantly the same, what we do to ourselves causes more damage than what anything outside our control can do to us.

Never give up on the fact that you can create something that will not only last and sustain but does deserve to last and sustain too, we and only we are responsible for our own results. #OurDailyDose

Nairaland / General / If Your Friend is Sleeping Around To Make Money, Will You Do The Same Thing Too? by 2onymontana(m): 4:47pm On Feb 22, 2017
Once in a while its important for us to take time out from your chaotic and crazy schedules and find some hours of peace and tranquility, where we ask ourselves some simple fundamental questions pertaining to our life, questions that enable us stock check, reflect and discover our exact plans and purpose in life, questions like, why are we still alive?, whats the reason for our existence?, what are we aiming to achieve or aspiring to become in life?. Whatever answers we have to these questions, indirectly helps us to identify with the vision we have for ourselves in life.

We’ve all heard the word “vision” being thrown around several times, in motivational speeches, empowerment conferences, leadership seminars, but not too often are we told about what the elements of a vision are, and how we can use those elements
to ignite our vision or align our vision with our targets and goals.
In order to ignite our vision and start living from the perspective of the end result of what we visualize, we must first be able to have a clear basic understanding of what a vision exactly is.

Understanding how to Identify our vision in its simplest form I believe should consist to 3 things, (a) why we exist (b) what are our core values (c) and what are does achievable aspirations we want for our future. Failure to properly Identify these 3 elements of a vision will most probably result in us having a blurred vision of our plans, purposes, goals or aspirations, And blurred visions normally results and accounts for why we have abandoned and halfway done project all around us.

For the first element that should consist in our vision, “why we exist” I guess only you the reader can answer that question yourself, we can be truthful or untruthful with ourselves about why we live, for some its to simply just follow the crowd and be told what to do, live from pay cheque to pay cheque, have an average Job “Just over broke” live in an average house, send their children to an average school, eat in average restaurants and generally just be average throughout their entire life till they die. For others, life’s about relentlessly trying on a daily basis to make a positive impact to themselves, their families and their community at large, its about thriving to leave a legacy for not only their children, but their children’s children also, its about reaching that place of self actualization and living a totally fulfilled life. And for these kind of people being consistent alone is important but not enough.

They are the kind of people that don’t expect to be discovering their core values on a daily basis, nor do they expect to learn new core values as of and when possible, they are deeply rooted in the fundamentals of what they believe are their core values and understand them also. Their vision is built based on that platform, they visualize their plans and purposes knowing and understanding fully well what they are capable of doing or achieving or instantly identifying what their limitations are. In the same vein, we need to always try as best as possible to identify what those core values that drive us in life are, Examples, if friends were selling drugs or prostituting themselves to make a living or gain luxurious returns, will you necessarily do the same?, if you woke up one morning broke, bursted and disgusted with a pile of debts at your doorstep would you hold on to the same values you have now?, if you had to live your life all over again, would these same values you hold on to now be something you’ll consider holding on to again?
These questions are key to every vision we have for ourselves, our core values are timeless and should hardly ever change unless we chose to ignore them.

Finally, in trying to discover what are our achievable aspirations for the future, in the context of our vision, we need to be able to clearly distinguish what our instilled core values are, and the effect they currently have on what were presently doing, then also ask ourselves, will holding on to these same values affect what we plan to do in the future, these are important questions to ask, as our core values in whatever disposition we see them or ought to remain fixed, only then can we operate in a complete level of self awareness, understand our strength and weakness and be able to cave out a vision that we could be truly believe were capable of attaining or following till it becomes reality. Therefore don’t spend too much time visualizing the outcome of your vision, spend more time understanding the key inbuilt attributes that will enable you wake up every single day with the passion to manifest that vision, and that will still carry you along well after the vision has been manifested.

A vision is a conscious look into the future that you see or deem achievable for yourself in present day, any other definition that omits mans conscious awakening of a vision is a dream. #OurDailyDose
