More players would be released subject to offers and bids for them. You can't openly tell a player under contract you don't need him.....that's the case with Ozil, Mustafi, Eleny, and Mikhitaria (Not sure of my spelling) I am sure so.e of them would be shipped out and that would free a lot of spaces. Kolacinac is a squad player and may not be allowed as would xhaka. Let's see what Unai has as a plan but I do feel he would make a better impression when he gets his own players. What we do not know is that building takes a while and Arsenal fans would need to be patient.

Politics › Re: Buhari Is Right; Fuel Subsidy Is A Fraud. by 2T215: 5:04pm On Apr 23, 2019 |
Apt and direct. Thanks for the analysis. tactius: In 2015..it cost N132 to import one liter of fuel into the country. Nigeria was importing most of the fuel it consumed, and still does.
We were selling the fuel at N87 per liter.
At the same time, oil prices ...crude oil was at $30 per barrel and dropping. (Note...we need oil to be at $140 to run a balanced budget. It's our break-even price. Russia is $99, Saudi $78, Kuwait $45)
No money to subsidize fuel, our treasury was running on empty, our reserves were dropping...and there were fuel queues because most makreters were running at a loss.
Based on advice, the government raised prices to N145....above the landing price of N132. That ended the need for subsidy, and ended the queues.
When landing price rose above N150.(in part thanks to a rebound in oil prices, but not enough to get dollars to rebuffer the naira)..that's when government made NNPC the sole importer of fuel, and forced them to use their money to pay 'underrecovery' (though govt too is paying)...ie subsidy by another name.
NB: I am not defending Buhari or APC. I believe that if GEJ had been allowed to remove fuel subsidy, we would have seen benefits as early as 2014....with increased investment, etc.) |

I am not sure we are paying attention to the issues facing the companies in Nigeria. You generate your own light, you pay for your security, you pay all levies and taxes of FG, State government, and local government. This does not include community and various stakeholders. The ease of running a business in Nigeria is burdensome. You will know better when you start a business. As for enforcement, prepare for more disengagments as many toys won't be able to pay...even state government. Prepare also to face removal of subsidy as it is a matter of when not if. Government just gave a reason for that step which would happen shortly. banio: So government can't enforce her laws. Useless and senseless statement.
Best is to create an enforcement unit that workers can report erring companies. Then such companies will be sanctioned accordingly with fines and possibly seizure of assets etc.
Companies could also be forced to deposit an advance payment of the salary with the enforcement unit. That's if you have 30 staff, then you must show bank proff that you can pay them minimum wage.
So many methods abound. But is the government willing. The workers can't take laws into their hands, but government can |

If the process ends with CCT then he is likely to win but since the case can still proceed to the appeal court and Supreme court , your guess is as good as mine. I have been actually looking out for those who are in Akwa Ibom to state facts from both side of the divide. I have a little idea of who Mike Igini is, he is a no-nonsense person. I do not doubt your story regarding him. As for Akpabio, our appeal is, go to the tribunal and make your case rather than creating tension all over the place. Atiku is pursuing his case without this show of shame. kemthegirl: My friend dont talk nonsense about my state from where ever you are. Akwa Ibom people as well as the other Niger Delta regions dont do Godfatherism. You can read your Nigerian History well.
The colonial masters had a indirect rule in the North and South West easy because they are known to follow their leaders sheepishly. We dont do that here and that is why you had the likes of Nana of Itsekiri, Jaja of Opobo, Anthony Enahoro, Obong of Calabar etc fighting the colonial masters to their death. We just dont do political slavery.
Speaking about akpabio's senate aspiration, we in Akwa Ibom knew he had commited political suicide the moment he decamped to APC. He like the megalomaniac that he is failed to guage the political temperament of his people. Arrogantly, he assumed his people will sheepishly follow him as if they are goats. He just didnt decamp quietly. He actually said that he will singlehandedly "bury PDP in Akwa Ibom State". That statement nailed his political coffin. The people, due to vexation voted him out vigorously.
Before the election, he attempted to bribe Mike Igini the REC but the man told him that he came to count votes not money. Akpabio seing the man's integrity sponsored a state protest claiming that Igini is working with PDP. During that election, Akpabio failed wooefully. there was no rigging. As a matter of fact, that was the freest election in the past 8 years because the Akpabio wasnt in control of State Machinery. Out of 10 Local Governments, he lost in 8, won in Ikot Ekpene LGA. In his own Local Government Essien Udim, he won but narrowly.
Akpabio seing his blatant failure(Igini was publishing results live on Local Tv) went to his LGA collation centre and hijacked the election materials. He tampered with the results and gave himself 120000 votes in order to cover up his loss. The reality was that in Essien Udim, the accredited voters were just 14000. How then did Akpabio win?
By dragging out this whole thing and refusing to accept defeat, Akpabio is making us forget his positive legacies. He didnt win any election. The narcissist in him wont let him concede defeat. A friend who knows him in person called him to commiserate but in public, he keeps pulling this stupid stunts. |

This reminds me of a story of an expatriate that came to Nigeria as a trainee and was given every instruction from his home country to be down to earth and be extremely humble. He did just as he was told. He asked very foolish questions, tried to learn Nigerian culture and beahved as a nobody. A particular Nigerian manager made life hellish for the guy but little did he know he was dealing with a man who was sent by a director of the company. Fast forward, he learnt and was withdrawn to his country. When he was to leave, he appreciated everyone including his manager who was very brutal to him. A few years later, he was back to Nigeria as country manager. He had a meeting with his former boss and made just one statement.....Now I am the Boss. ( Don't ask me what became of that Nigerian Manager) We must be very careful of what we say as you don't know what would happen in the next one minute. Oshomole should learn how God manages pround and loud persons. Primesky: Ah! this is too immature. The contender isn't this hash. Mr. Oshiomole should avoid aggravating tensions. I find something totally strange and illogical in telling a man who feels aggrieved not to seek redress. I am sure the courts are meant to deepen our democracy and strengthened our electoral processes. I followed the case of Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Oshomole, and others that were told to "relax". Some of those judgement re-defined certain aspects of our processes today. If you conclude that Atiku has no case, I may need to ask you if you were in every polling unit of Nigeria? I am a bit amazed as to why the members of the ruling party that won has started appealing to him to "concede" and be a man of honour. Sir, kindly follow the case of Osun and you would see that we should challenge what we perceive as improper and conflicts with values and standards. The courts dont need existence if we keep suggesting that an aggrieved person should just relax. Adopting a non radical approach to contest perceived injustice should be commended by all and sundry. Did PMB not contest the results of his previous defeats? Things may not be the way they appear. PMB might have the Acting CJN as his Ally but make no mistake, he is just one judge among the 7 to decide the case at supreme Court......after all the appeal court and the tribunals have done their jobs. Also, we need to bear in mind that cases are decided on facts and evidence and sound lawyers. I agree you can add " favour" from the judges but we all know what such favour is doing to some judges right now. Don't get it mixed up,Atiku has a right and he should pursue it. Optimism is very good and process improvement should be encouraged. Our branding of persons with opinions that differs from our as heretics and names not dignifying does not seem to me a right approach. The beauty of what we call democracy is the diverse opinion. Have you imagined a one party state in a country like Nigeria? Do you think everyone person that is seeing things differently in Nigeria is corrupt and does not mean well? For a lot, the stand is against what's not right irrespective of who does it. If we are fair in our review of the election process, you would come to the conclusion that (As a nation) we did not make much gains from what we did in 2015. I felt we had better election with some reasonable level of sanctity. Like you said " Your daddy will look and rectify all the bad laws that PDP brought to us since 1999 ". I think this view mirrors our challenge to think that a party is the problem of Nigeria. Crime does not know colour, party, race etc. The same persons are switching allegiance since 1999. I agree, PDP should have done better but we need to move on. The current regime has another 4 years and lets measure progress in realistic terms and stop name calling. Lets take government to task and lets get Nigeria working. Sadly, with a lot of persons fed with APC and PDP meals, it is a big task. post=76134270: Great words from a great unbiased group. Please, much as I like Nigeria to manage her affair, note this "He who fetches firewood infected with ants invites lizards to his house" BluntBoy: The US is a hypocritical country.

The truth is that the US do not want us to progress. They would gladly incite violence so that they can come in and plant their naval base in Lagos.
Everywhere they have helped with civil wars, they always leave their marks, either through a naval base or through unabashed imperialism. |
