episode 13: nightmare on campus street
holiday is over, strike is over, school has resumed , it's now time to get serious with studies , time to get back to campus routine and time to form big boy for those new jambites.
It was jambites that ygritte Was referring to with her famous quote "you know nothing!"
(if you don't know ygritte, their is little I can do).

I remember how some parents used to escort their daughters to school for registration and how boys watch those girls like hawk, waiting for them to stray away from thier guardian before they pounce on her with well trained moves and lines.
Some guys taking it to the next level, introducing themself to the guardians(mostly the girls mother) and offering to help solve some of the things they do not know how to solve. After helping out, the mother hands her daughter to the guy for protection and assistance on campus, she for kuku prepare the sheep, remove the hair and cut it into pieces for the wolf to eat na.

Some mothers will be given late hour advise as if it will work, if girl wan spoil , their is absolutely nothing you can do about it!, girls wey no wan spoil sef are mostimes overwelmed by campus life. You are now warning her to beware of boys, she can't beware anything! , this are university boys, not street boys,well trained and experienced in the act of deceiving young girls whose hormones are already giving them problems. back to story.

For the first three weeks or so there were no issues, other than me and toke trying to cover up for the long break and strike. We spend more time in bed than in classes or anywhere else. through out the holidays, she was with her elder siblings , bet you know where those ones are, so their was very little communication between us, just email messages and tonnes of electronic love cards(old boys will know what I'm talking about),
so we were either scribi scrubbing each other under the sheets or she is telling me how American life is.

There was one funny incident at the end of the second or third week(I'm not sure)which now made me believe that toke had grown more wild. She was in my room and on my bed, not the room I was before o, I've left that room and that hostel, now in a different hostel. But unfortunately for me, I was now glued with guys that are far worse than my previous roommates, though not as many as the previous rommates, their religious zeal is double those of my previous rommates , if those guys(former roomates) were Cebuella pygmaea , then this guy's were large gorillas. It was always one church function being held in the room after another. Whenever I refuse to attend any of their functions, the way they look at me makes me sometimes check my body to see if I've not pupu on myself.

I was not feeling well that day, I was feeling cold so toke covered both of us up totally with wrapper and we started gisting underneath. One of the born again boys in the room did not like our position(she was on top of me, even though we were doing nothing other than gisting), so he started his usual loud talking, as if he is indirectly preaching to us, his partner in the Lord joined in and both started talking loudly about how bad the world is, fornication and the rest. toke knew they were talking about us and she did the unthinkable, she started moving slowly on top of me and started mowning softly.
I knew there was no real contact between us and she was not turned on.

me: "shhhh, they will hear you na"(I said silently)

toke: " exactly"

me: " you wan make them hear you come give you name?"

toke: " did you not hear them, they have already given us names plus surname sef, let's kuku help them made them give us title" (she moaned again as if something has entered her)

me: " I do not know what they are saying , I was listening to you, how can you hear what they are saying while talking, what are they talking about sef"(I tried to listen)

toke: " they were talking about sex and I know they were directing it at me"

me: " How did you know that, you were talking to me na"

toke: "its called multitasking..... I forgot, you are a guy, you don't know what that means."

me : " I know what it means, it's......."

toke: "anti, I know you know what it means okay, (she sighed) but you still don't get it"

She continued moaning softly to the chagrin of those two guys. They realised she wunt stop and so they left us alone to go outside, but they left the door wild open to show they wunt allow us get down.

well, I was not in the mood, frame of mind or physical health to make love right now. The lovemaking I've had with toke for the past 3 weeks had sapped both our energies, we both confessed that we had been weak physically lately, we also both hope we will be able to keep from hitting the sack for at least a week.

The reason for this freedom to make love all the time was because toke and mercy had moved out of campus, they are now staying in a 3 bedroom flat off campus with another female student, so each girl had a room to herself. There flat was a sight to behold, they really spent money on it, big TV, VCD, rugs, air conditioning etc, no wonder I spend most of my nights in her room. They also had a kitchen but I doubt they ever ever the place.

We did not know it was really late, by the time we got out of the room it was around 11pm, how did we forget time like that, she was supposed to be out of the male hostel by 10pm. I was initially afraid of what might happen to her, but I remembered that girls are sometimes found in male hostels at odd times, the big guys have a way they do it, it's called bragado!. They just form as if they have the right and power to do it, and they do it with no one questioning them, even the porter. Well, how can the porter know if the guy bringing the girl in or out is capable of separating his fingers from the rest of his body, so as long as the porter don't know who he is, and he is acting as if he is Lord and master, it's better to let him go, no need to find out.

This was the approach I used with toke , I took her hand and started bouncing, not rushing our steps at all as I walked towards the exit.

Maybe it was my height, maybe it was my "I don't care stance", maybe it was because I was new in the hostel and most don't know me, but everyone just acted as if I've not broken any rules as if toke was a guy following me. As I passed the gate, where a security guy and porter where standing, one of them said (I don't know which cus I did not look back)" chairman, remember us o". I just replied " when I come back " with the hardest voice my childish lungs could muster .

We got to the the car park, no cab again, so we had no choice that to start walking the one hour walk to the gate, we walked past my former hostel , as we got about halfway to the gate, we met David and eKaite coming from the opposite direction. David said he was coming from outside campus , saw ekaite and decided to escort her beyond the dark area we are presently at.

Toke bought the story hook line and singer, but I did not.
David hostel is now near the gate, near uzoma's former hostel, ekaite is now in toke's former hostel while uzomas is now in the same hostel with ekaite(that is, uzoma is now in toke's former hostel)

We were still just when like 3 men wearing black sorrounded us, instantly they went for David, i cannot describe the slap they gave him before raking him to the ground, but I'll tell you the result of the slap.
It was those kind of slaps where the person being slapped is automatically disconnected from his vocal cords, it is people that are around that will help him shout yeeee!

That was what ekaite and toke did, they screamed at same time. ekaite took off in the direction of her hostel (where we were coming from), toke took off in the direction of the gate, while took off as you well know by now in the wrong direction and with the wrong velocity.
My legs was already rotating at about 100 miles per hour while I've not moved a feet, this caused my legs not to have friction with the ground, so I fell down, in less that 0.5 seconds, I was already up moving like Justin Gatlin, I ran full speed into the nearby bush, only to realise it was full of thorns, to make it worse, there was a swamp behind it.

My brain shouted , telling my body "na run I shout, not run and die". I ran out,chastising myself for running as if I heard a gun shot, then ran towards the gate after toke. The nasty part of the game had began.
