Well I agree the Nigerian way of bringing up males, later yields wife-beating sexist pigs. But a person isn't IMO significantly affected by his upbringing. Regardless of ones background, one should be smart enough to know what is wrong. Every society is patriarchal and from my experience Nigerian men seem less sexist that men of other races I have encountered.  American males are far more sexist- and their bringing is supposed to be more liberal and less of the guy vs. girl issue.
