Pastor Ibiyeome did nothing wrong.
Reason being dat: kemi is not a Christian and d bible only says dnt take ur brother to court. Dat means it will be wrong for pst David to do dat if d lady was a Christian.
Remember wat is happening to apostle Suleiman do u know how many souls dat must have been lost because of dat. If Kemi succeeds in diverting d pastor's attention into defending himself even though he did nothing do u know how d matter will excavate and how many souls will be lost?

Let me ask you a question, Mr Disoriented Blind Pastor-Slave, Who is a Christian by your definition? Is it the man who calls himself a Christian, the man who calls himself a pastor, the man who attends church, or the man who does the Will of God and is thus recognised by God? You think presence in church or identity of a church is what makes you a Christian? Jeez! You are truly disoriented

Men, you spoke like someone who is alien to the Christian faith and not grounded in the Bible.

Do you know how many unbelievers blasphemed against Christ? How many did he take to court? The Bible commands us to be Christ-like, Pastors have to be christians first, forgive others their sins, so the Heavenly Father will forgive you your sins, so said the Bible.

Secondly, you are totally wrong that Pastors or Preachers convert souls, we are only admonished to preach the gospel, it is the Holly Spirit that convert souls.

Saul Persecuted Peter and the early Apostles even unto death, non took him to court, none even prayed curse on him, they blessed him and shown him love until God touched Saul.

These Pastors are doing more damages to the Christian faith by these actions. Vegence is mine said God.

Jesus said, he that is without sin, should cast the first stone. We are all sinners, including these Pastors and cannot cast any stone at someone for what they have done.

What happened to turning the other cheek, when you are slapped or forgiving 7x77 times a day, when you are offended.

There is no yardstick in the Bible by which you can measure these and concluded that these Pastos are Christians i.e. Christ-Like period!
has the person you are defending " kemi" pleaded gulity? Has she come to realise that committed a crime? Let her do that first before you talk o forgiveness. When you commit, why do your parents punish you? Why don't they forgive and rub your head? It's about the law and not a pastor forgiving.

This is a power play by a very connected pastor. Why should she be rearrested after bail, her offense is bailable just like Dansuki and Nnamdi Kanu's alleged offenses. And why was she arrested in Lagos and shipped to port harcourt by the police? Was the crime committed in port harcourt?

She should be allowed bail and continue with other court proceedings.

i support pastor david ibeyeomie.

this kemi needs to be put inplace someonw you havent met before, neither have u had any contact with him or even attended his church you just wake up one day and decide to ruin him.

she needs to be allowed to develop some maturity, especially this periods that churches are under attack from black mailers.

if her situation what she was saying has some truth thats different but she just decided to attack the poor pastor for no reason.

if this is allowed to go scot free very soon it would become the order of the day to be insulting and attacking churches.

Pastor David ibeyeomie did the right thing as far as he has no cockroach hidden on his cupboard on what kemi is saying.

those saying she shud be forgiven i hv studied this kemi character nd i know she wud try it again if she is not put in a place.

why do you choose to delude yourself over unambiguous Bible expressions? even as the thread OP has carefully outlined the Bible's stand over matters as this you're still bringing up irrelevant quotations. Let me tell you until this your pastor publicly apologises to this Kemi , God won't take lightly what he's done. it has blackmailed Christianity openly.

An allegation of sexual immorality on the pastor ought to be first refuted by him irrefutably
Next he sues her in court with irrefutable proof if he where to go that way
But from what we see unfolding before us, he got her locked up
Hmnn!
Yet Scripture says, Vengeance is mine...I will repay says the Lord!
Welcome to Naija's brand of Christianity where Christ's name fills up the pockets of many a minister whilst His nature is absent in their hearts.
Selah!
Think about it, how come Christ, his apostles and prophets in scripture where accused of many things but NEVER sexual immorality.
Same goes for pastors Adeboye, Kumuyi and a few select men of God in Nigeria
Behind every rumour, truth lurks.
Think on this things.

Another scripture deprived wanna-be Christian...

The Bible said, we should judge one another. it said, there will be many Anti-Christs in the last days and that, by we judging their works we will know.

Many shall come preaching my name, but they do not know me, test every spirit to see if they are of God....and by their works we shall know them...are you familar with any of the above scriptures?

Interesting now we are talking about God here lying can be very detrimental to u now answer these questions.
Did peter forgive ananias?
Did Jesus forgive Judas?
Did paul forrgive BarJesus?
Wat will u do to a man dat kills ur only son who is a graduate?
Wat will do wen someone steals ur land?
Wat will u do wen a company refuses to pay u for 6 months before sacking u?
Forgiveness is sweet indeed wen u prescribe it to others
And lastly wat will u do wen someone points a gun on ur house hold wen u are just at his back holding a knife

I think you are forgetting where it is written you shall even forgive your enemies and pray for those who hurt..

Christianity is very difficult to practice. From the wr

Or have you forgotten where it is written leave vengeance to the Lord..

Matt 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Leave men of God for God to judge for they are God's anointed.

i wonder where these slow thinkers come from. so because a pastor is involved, he should look the other way when being slandered and insulted by a miscreant abi in addition to the fact that he should act christlike right? m sure you will encourage a pastor to not sue a criminal that breaks into the church to steal church equipments since he's meant to act christlike right? do you guys remember when christ chased people out that were selling stuffs in the church? it means christ didnt: sit on his hands, did nothing, nor looked the other way when he saw wrong things being done.

let me comment on only one aspect of ur post. If Kemi isn't a Christian is it not our duty to as Christians to win her to Christ. Even Jesus forgave those who killed him. The pastor in my view is not acting according to d bible except he has his now bible that teaches him an eye for an eye. Beside 90% of Aunty kemi readers don't take her seriously. Their comments on her blog will tell u that

I am a Christian and I know what it means to forgive even when I am poked in the eyes but it doesn't mean that I should sit down and allow my eyes to be poked.

kemi olunloyo has a history of using online media to defame celebrities. those same people will clap back and she will hit them harder. this pastor has made her know that it is not by barking but biting viciously.

defamation is done such that right thinking members of the society look down on you with disdain. if I see Angela okorie or this pastor in question, my mindset will be that they have allegedly committed immoral acts and as such I wouldn't want to touch them with the longest pole let alone interact with them. if you are in their shoes, how would you feel.

let this serve as a lesson to her. that she said rubbish about others even about her own father and she went away with it doesn't mean that the next person would let her go so easily.

we are Christians and we are mandated to forgive, I agree but it does not mean I should be inside water and allow soap blind my eyes.

nuff said.

Let your criticism be constructive, Kemi was not even the pastor's church member and she is not sure if the content of the letter sent to her by the unknown church member portrays the truth about the church and the pastor. Her typing fingers was faster than her sense of reasoning.

I totally disagree with you about your (wrong) Bible quote... Even the unbelievers are dearly precious to GOD. Because GOD is not in support of a sinner to die but to Repent... JESUS ACTUALLY CAME TO THE WORLD BECAUSE OF THE UNBELIEVERS TO REVIVE THEM. because if everything were to be fine, there wouldn't have been any need for HIM to re-lay the foundation/root to go back to our maker.

Thank you

Shame.Naijas and Hypocrisy.

Now quoting Bible without proper understanding of what 'Forgiveness' entails.

It's a process and it goes thus in this order;

Self conviction> Confession>Repentance> Forgiveness.

This is applicable at both physical and Spiritual spheres.

Self conviction- Acknowledge and accept you have erred

Confession- Taking responsibility and owing up to your wrongful deed(s)

Repentance- Readiness to make complete 180 degree turn from the wrong path.

Forgiveness- A decision made wilfully by the wronged person(s) NOT to further proceed with commensurable actions, justifiable and in equal measure against the erring person.

Love this! Op and those supporting him gleefully danced whenever Kemi played her tune. Now that she is asked to dance to the new tune, they are showing high level of hypocrisy.

Luke 9:51-56

51 When the days were approaching for His ascension, He was determined to go to Jerusalem;
52 and He sent messengers on ahead of Him, and they went and entered a village of the Samaritans to make arrangements for Him.
53 But they did not receive Him, because He was traveling toward Jerusalem.
54 When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”
55 But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are of;
56 for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” And they went on to another village.

Did you read the above passage? Do you know why Christ rebuked his disciples when they wanted to command fire from heaven to consume the Samaritans?

Christ said that we Christians are of a different spirit. What do you think he would look like today if he had commanded fire to burn down the same people he came to save?

Since the Kemi Olunloyo and Pastor Ibiyeomie saga became a police affair, I've read several comments from supposed Christians urging the pastor on. When it is made clear to them that a preacher is not to react in the manner Pastor Ibiyeomie did, in that he ought to overlook the matter by forgiving her without taking action, like Christ would, , they shift the goal post to saying that Kemi Olunloyo didn't ask for forgiveness.

Did the people that were killing Jesus ask for forgiveness before he said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do"? Now, tell me, a crime of killing you versus a crime of defaming you, which is more easy to forgive without taking action?

Pastor Ibiyeomie calls himself a Christian i.e like Christ, yet he isn't acting like one. He has enjoyed all the good side of being a Christian. But now that it is time to suffer for Christ, he can't even face the suffer of defamation. What if he had existed in the days of the early apostles when Christians where arrested and fed to lions in gladiator arenas? Those disciple's still prayed for their persecutors.

I don't know whether Kemi Olunloyo deserves whatever she's going through cos we don't know whether she has proof of her claims. One thing i do know is that her punishment shouldn't come from a man who is supposed to preach to her. Having her locked up doesn't prove he's innocent of the allegation.

Some would argue that his silence would have made many people to leave his church. The silence that Jesus and his disciples maintained when they were persecuted is one of the reasons why Christianity is major today. If they had attacked their attackers, Christianity would have been tagged a terrorist religion.

Let's remember how Peter reacted when he cut off the ear of one of those that came to arrest Jesus. Most importantly, let's remember how the man they came to arrest reacted to the situation. He rebuked Peter and went ahead to heal the ear. But Christianity of today is "attack me, I attack you", thanks to the years of prosperity preaching which has turned man away from God and made them love self than others.

You can continue to argue in favour of the pastor, but the Bible will always condemn his actions. God has given you an hint to free you from the shackles of those that have been misleading you. Instead of following it, Christians of today have chosen to stand with the same evil men. Below is what Christ will say..

But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; Luke 9:55

Do you know why many Christians will accept the mark of the Antichrist? It is because they choose man over God and His Word. It's not too late for you today.

Exodus 22:32
then Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said, “Who is on the LORD’s side? Come to me.”

You, Seun and those who put these stories on front page thrive on blackmail. Your post is just blackmail. Did you have an opinion when kemi was on the offensive?

Your response shows you didn't read my post where I said that he's suppose to save her as a Christian Should, not have her arrested. Christ had the ability to destroy his killers, but he didn't. If pastor Ibiyeomie calls himself a follower of Christ, he ought to have emulated that.
Do you know that amount of souls that were won and are still being won an a result of Christ not retaliating against his persecutors?
Again the pastor did nothing wrong. I remember there is a passage in the bible where Christ advised his followers to settle matters with their adversaries before they get to court or else they will spend all their savings in to get a desired judgment. But the person accusing refused to let this matter go, what would you expect the accuser do? The court is the best place in that instance. So always read your bible and do an entire exposition not this selective work you have done
All the examples you cited where places where the people involved took or were willing to take laws into there hands. He simply reported to the authority. But this case he is not the judge and cannot therefore be said to have done nothing wrong.
