This is how , if we want to leave nigeria, the map would look like and flag. And we would try to merge with the Republic of Benin. |

No2Atheism: Becomerich, is a joke. How can Ondo be the centre? Do you know how far Cross River and Akwa Ibom are? The centre is in the boarder between Edo and Delta. Anything short of that, Yoruba can form their own country |

Eziachi:Man you really make sense here than most of the posters here (if not all posters in my opinion). An average igbo man won't accept this nonsense. Southern Nigeria you and who? just remove igbo(include delta igbo) on your list. So what you will have now is South west, south south Nigeria Well, let us pray for Nigeria progress not division. |

The place and point in question is called Omialafara in Ondo state. |
Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by becomrich16: 1:20am On Jan 01, 2010 |
From satellite picture the distance from Omialafara to Benin is 62 km Asaba is 137 km Onitsha is 139 km Akwa is 140 km Nnewi is 159 km Oguta is 160km Owerri is 203 km Umuhia is 238 km Lokoja 140km Warri 149 km Ibadan 220 km Yanagoa is 222 km PH is 260km Abeokuta is 272 km Lagos is 285km Enugu is 255km Ota is 284 km Jabba is 271 km Iseyin is 275 km Markudi is 299km Saki is 320km |

Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by becomrich16: 1:39am On Jan 01, 2010 |
That is what I did . centre pivot . Look even if you want to put at at the coast. You still would have to put it in Ondo state. check google. The other coastland after ondo state are creeks and it is impossible for you to built a city on that, with trillion of dollar to build bridge. You would need trillion of dollars to put a capital like abuja on them. That is the correct point . look for another engineer , they would tell you I am right.

Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by nwoorsu: 1:43am On Jan 01, 2010 |
The river niger separates east and west and is therefore the natural centre.the city lucky enough to have landmass for a capital happens to be asaba.ogwashi is ok or umunede.i dont think they are cities though. |
Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by becomrich16: 1:49am On Jan 01, 2010 |
That is not true, the centre is what you look for, Asaba is not the centre. Omialafara is the centre and would reach everybody. That can not be the centre. Look lagos to asaba is 402 km while Asaba to Duola in Cameroon is 395km Abeokuta is 398 km Saki is 460 km Ibadan is 350km. So that can not be the centre. Look even asaba to abuja is more close than to lagos. Asaba to Abuja is just 306 km while to lagos is 402 km. How can that be the centre. Which school you go to. even Omialafara is the centre and would reach everybody. And it is more closer to the east than even lagos. Lagos is 285km from Omialafara while check East. Asaba is 137 km Onitsha is 139 km Akwa is 140 km Nnewi is 159 km Oguta is 160km Owerri is 203 km Umuhia is 238 km PH is 260km Enugu is 255km You can see that cameroon is more closer to Asaba with only 236 km, while Benin republic is 450 km. If you add the two distance together and divide by two , you get 343 km. Which is still Omialafara. It is 343 km from the benin republic border and 343 km from the cameroon border. Omialafara is the centre.

Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by becomrich16: 2:40am On Jan 01, 2010 |
See map, when I break up the south into 3 nearly equal segment. You see why Omialafara is the centre

ONE NIGERIA massob/opc/mend/arewa/etc it is too late. we remain in one nigeia and we'll suffer it together. ijaw,yoruba/igbo/efik/hausa/fulani/edo/bini/etc too late, we will all put our legs in one pant. no retreat, no seccesion. 2 million people died to keep nigeria one(mainly igbos) it was expensive, the killings, the betrayals, the sorrow, the pain . . the lost cause. today, we must live together or die together but separate. . . . no way |
Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by saintneo(m): 2:27pm On Jan 01, 2010 |
there is no going back, one Nigeria we remain. Even the common northerner is not happy - take away the northern cabal/elite. we need to send a strong message to the people who don't want us together anymore. |
Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by trueword: 8:17am On Jan 02, 2010 |
Good ideas. But can we start organizing rallies to popularize the idea of the Federal Republic of South Nigeria? I believe that this ideology can be enshrined in the minds of people if we begin holding meetings or rallies explaining the importance of this consciousness. The world has to know that Northern Nigeria which is made up of the muslim north do not want to share power and have been the source of most of nigerian problems. We all know that originally there were marked differences in north and south before the Amalgamation of 1914. This union, made against our wish and consultation and for the benefit of the British, has not faired well. In addition, it is only the northerners who are benefitting from the economic potentials of Nigeria, even without having relevant education or political experience. Northerners continue to enjoy scholarships and study overseas at the detriment of southerners who are qualified. Unemployment rate in the southern states are constantly increasing while jobs are provided for northerners at all levels. This is why northerners are hardly found overseas looking for opportunities except for studies , usually on federal scholarships. The lack of opportunity for southerners has resulted in the "brain-drain" of southern nigeria because many southerners leave the country in search of opportunities. The Hausa dominated government prefer to offer jobs to foreigners instead of southerners. Nigeria's political instability and corruption is perpetuated by the northern dominance of the political scene with less educated politicians and economic advisors. This is why Nigeria has continued to attract bad press all over the world. The most recent being a terrorist nation. It will be possible for islamic fundamentalists to hijack nigeria and carry out terrorist operations in association with the northern muslims. The various instances of religious intolerance and riots in the north are good examples. It must be noted that northern attachment with the Arab and Islamic world to a larger extent determine how power is shared in Nigeria. This is the time to sever the ties between the north and southern Nigeria peacefully in order to avoid ethnic bloodshed. |

Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by edoyad(m): 12:02pm On Jan 02, 2010 |
I personally would prefer a conference is held to decide how many countries Nigeria should break up into cos 2 countries just wont suffice and could result in more problems. If after the conference no agreement can be reached then we can start talking of a violent uprising. Ibos don't want anything to do with Yorubas as much as the middle belt despise the hausa man, so we're looking at about 5-6 different countries here. |

Mbeki: The best option is to split the south into 3 countries The nation oof ODUA consisiting of maybe ,Lagos, ondo, ogun, osun, oyo, ekiti The Biafra nation with Ibo states and cross river to enable them access to the sea The Niger Delta nation

EmperorOlu: - I hope you know that significant parts of Kogi and Kwara are part of the Yoruba territories . . . - For all he's faults, becomerich actually makes sense with a number of his geographical analysis. . . Mbeki: - That is exactly what i have been talking about . . . - The whole of Africa needs to be reshuffled . . . - Africa is expriencing problems as a result of the initial creation of countries by forcing together different Nations under one name . . . e.g. Hutu, Tutsi, Fulani, Kanuri, Yoruba, Ibo, etc. . . - Africa would always have problems of development cus those nations would always be figthing against each other . . . - Hence the only way to accelerate Africa's growth is if all African countries come together to re-create new countries based solely on similar cultures . . . for example: Yorubas can then form a nationa consisting from their people all the way from Kwara, Kogi up to Areas of Togo and Benin and even Ghana (yes I heard from a Ghanian that there are even people with Yoruba culture in Ghana) . . . (this is part of the reason why I think Becomrich sometimes makes sense, cus what I am saying is actualy similar to what he tries to say albeit in a rather repetitive and sometimes disjointed manner) This concept is known to work as can be easily seen from how Yoruba land was developed during the first republic of when Nigeria was still operating as semi-autonomous regions . . . |

Mbeki: Actually they speak several languages in Spain; Catalan, Basque, Galician, and Aranese. Spanish is actually the language of Castille, the region responsible for expelling the arabs around the 14-15th century. Spain is a composition of several languages united by many ideologies, however, culturally they are different. |
