Indians and Chinese do not respect the laws of Nigeria. This is because they are backed by Nigerian promoters and investor whose primary and only aim is to make profit. These set of people with the help of Nigerian professional(HR,Lawyers, tax, audit, accountants) etc, help them to perpetrate all sort of evil against the people and the Nigerian government. They subject their employees to in human and slave contract, evade all sort of taxes payment, malicious transfer of statutory responsibilities to Nigerian contractors and repatriate huge funds back to their countries. Because our statutory laws are inconsistent, and enforcement is corrupt, these Indians and Chinese exploit every loop holes available to rape this this country. The first time I went to Huawei office I thought I was in China, sitting on a table to discuss business with them was the worst. They are just unbelievable. They don't pay on agreement, they slash your invoice values without any explanation, you have to go to court sometimes to get you full due on agreement or service delivered. How did this people get into this country? On the Nigerians working there, you can feel the intimidation they received just to put food on their table. I don't blame those who have lost hope in this country, because the government just don't care. |
asuo27:I think majority of people investing in mmm knows the risk involved and every investment has it own risk level. Just as many investment seen as legal in the eyes of government failed over the years, so is mmm going to fail later. Government should rather sensitize the citizenry on the dangers of such investment rather than being the agent that but pulls it down, either ways people will loose their money so government should allow it fail naturally. How come government has not pulled down the various lottery companies or are people not loosing money too? The risk belongs to the individuals and not the government. |
Abagworo:Did you say, No Governor in the history of south east? I am not here to argue with you but if okorocha is a standard to compare the performance of south east governors, then the region is doomed. I will encourage people to travel round and see things for themselves and not allow some people to influence their judgement by all they read on Nairaland. |
ledaman:While you praise him, also remember to offer him some good advice on state of governance in IMO state. Last August I visited Fed Poly Nekede and was highly disappointed with the condition of the road leading to the school town. That was a typical example of state of roads in IMO state. Let keep sentiment aside, Rochas SEEM to be a failure in IMO state. He need to perform at state level and let his performance speak for him. Can you see the silent economic policies and developed in Anambra, it's a pity IMO state in recent time have been governed by people who have no business in governance. As for the visit to Sokoto, he is free to wear what ever he likes. |
I expected this before the season began. It's painful to see the team go down to the 2nd tier. I don't even expect them back very soon with that chalatan still as the governor. Every good thing imo state is known for is going down under Okorocha. That man is a disease to IMO state. |
Nigeria league need more private owned clubs, that is the only way we can get innovations in the league. Football is now a big business that should not be left in the hands of government and government appointees. Waiting for Eyimba, Pillar and shooting to follow with international partnership. Good one for the club but I did not see our own club jersey displayed. |
Does anyone expect a single medal from Rio? Common let be serious, we did not prepare. In short we are never prepared ,just divine intervention. Many don't know what athletes go through in this country. They virtually live on empty stomach and by the strong will to succeed. No structured processes to discover and nurture talent. Our college/university school system does encourage sport and sporting activities. The days of Ezenwa brothers, Sunday Bada, Mary Onyeali-omogbemi and co are gone. Our stadias are in mess. Secondary school in cities no longer have good sporting grounds except in the villages where the demand for estate has not made the LGA to sell school lands. I wish the Nigerian delegates best of luck. It is not easy competing against those who have gone sport scientific. |
vislabraye:Just as the Hausa kill for no good reason so does the Igbos and Yorubas attach each other for no good reason. From my experience both are good host and place a premium on human life, but both just can't stand each other's guts. |
pacino26:My brother, you are correct. There will always be a difference between a technocrat and politician. I am not surprised with the giant strides by Obiano, it is important that he shows to the rest of Nigeria that Party affiliation has nothing to do with performance. Vote the for individual and not the party. |
Abagworo:Were you in Imo state before, during and after the election to confirm the DSP was in Owerri. Please provide pictures especially on the voting day, it's your word against the DSP camp. But come to think of it, is anything wrong in him supporting the PDP candidate, or is Okoracha not supporting the APC candidate. I am just having an fair thought. |
shamecurls:No doubt he is the leading Igbo personality in APC, his success will depend largely on some other factors, like the attitude and comment of his party and party member on issues relating to SE and SS. Also bear in mind that the political terrain is unpredictable, who believed Amaechi for example will turn against Jonathan and PDP. Until he and his party connects to the SE and SS, his ambition will be a "Nearly" |
shamecurls:The Presidency has always been Okorocha's ambition. He knew in the then PDP, it was not going to be possible to get to the top or even the governorship in Imo PDP. So he joined APGA to get to the governorship riding on the peoples sentiment against Ohakim. Okorocha cannot pilot the affairs of the region because some people see him as a traitor leaving APGA, like ACN a regional party. |
Abagworo:What kind of prayer is that. War within any region in Nigeria is going to negatively impact on the rest of West Africa, this is not the 60s, any body with a level of internet knowledge can make weapons, bombs etc and infiltration is now easier due to globalization. During the Biafran war, was the Ijaw man differentiated from the Igbo speaking tribe or Efik, Ibibio, Anang man etc? No they received same treatment in the North and the West. Shouldn't the youth of this country be thinking of solutions and actively involved in the agitation for a better collective future? All I see in Nairaland is phobia for other tribes. No objective and constructive argument on issues affecting the nation. There is a current call for a change in the structure of government, are the youth discussing it or did they just leave it to the same old people who has mismanaged this union? Let us be solutions to this country and not add to the already existing problems. |
Tonymegabush1:This is not a good times for Nigeria and Nigerians. Every aspect of our economic and social life is down. For all those trumping up tribal sentiment, when Emma's goals in the finals won us Nations Cup in 1994 and Olympic Gold medal in 1996, he was a Nigerian not a biafran abi? |
larney:Please leave responsibility out of this. This is politics of today in the senate, the Tinubu camp and the Saraki camp. Any misguided moves by any camp, expect the other to blow it out of proportion.. |
ademoladeji:I think you are wrong. Dino and Remi were both wrong in their actions but more blame goes to Remi. In a Traditional gathering, Remi had no right or privilege to insult Dino as man. If you take it to religious stand point, Remi erred as well. Morally, she did not act like Woman who deserves respect and protection of a man. May be for some people, it an opportunity to go at Tinubu, but why provide your detractors with misguided statement in a national gathering. It is also important that we point out that Remi started it all. If she need argue any point raised by Dino let her do it with great humility and not insult. If the Tinubus a politically aware shouldn't Remi had known that Dino and his camp are waiting in siege for opportunity like this to be little her husband. In conclusion, this matter shouldn't have been brought to national discuss in the first place, what transpired in the senate should have been resolved there. |
bettercreature:Did you read and understand his comment. Is there any line he insulted any one? Why do some people enjoy calling others names. If you don't have any objective contribution why not have some self restrain at least. |
cozy7:He is great business man. Strong foresight and good friend to every administration. Giving back to the nation that made him what he is today. |
I want to believe that the president had no initial plan for the ND, that was why he made the 5% statement but with the renewed militancy of the NDA he had to change his mind to visit the document which worked for the late President. Whether it will work for him is another story because the region is more informed now than then. Settling every group that arose in that region is not the best. In the short run, Buhari should continue the implementation of the various agreement the past government has with the Militants but should work towards making it transparent. While it gradually reduce funding by working out in partnership with the state government visible infrastructural development and policies that will encouraged industrialization of the area. Such national asset like working sea port and airport, should be Paramount. Incentives should be given to companies willing to set up petrochemical industries and marine technology and engineering, like ship building. e.t.c to keep the youth engaged. For the the long term, Buhari should retrieve the various CONFAB with the intention to implement those items it could carry out. The end point should be true federalism that he promised. GBPN. |
If muslims say Islam is peaceful then the Islamic teacher and their leaders should be held responsible for the action of their youths. Since this people don't attend formal education system but islamic schools it simply means that the Islamic clerics up north have been brainwashing these people. It will absolute hypocrisy for any one of them to publicly condems these actions. You cannot teach them something in the classrooms and expect them to do otherwise in the public. Northern clerics and leaders should be held responsible.Period. GBPN |
obailala:Who else should Nigerians blame if not Buhari. It's Buhari's govt? He is the head and should manage it. I don't envy the situation he met, that is fall in oil price. But has he help matters in leadership? Let be truthful to ourselves, the election brought so much acrimony and divisions. A wise leader who knows his people and with a good nationalistic intentions would have doused the tension by calculated moves meant to win over those initially opposed to him due to one reason or the other. But what did he do, he made comments that I wouldn't do at my level. Made skewed appointment. Kept silent on key national issues where his personal voice is needed, made Nnamdi kanu popular, threatened and shot protester e.t.c. fighting corruption is good but we need an inspiring leadership. Hope you understand. God bless the people of Nigeria. |
Forget about the graveyard peace we have in this country, all is not well. It's high time the igbos living in the north take their leave. They live in constant fear and self consciousness to avoid any unpleasant situation. How can u be free to move around the country yet in chains of restrictions. I was told as a kid how an uncle, a senior person in Barclay's bank (now union bank) was killed in the same kano just before the war broke out in 1967. A footballer friend of mine, escaped from kano during one of the religious upheavals in the 90s but his family members were not so lucky. it's high time they move to south. The Igbos and Yorubas may chide each other they still have respect for life. A word is enough for the wise. God bless the people of Nigeria. |
henryhemon:Do you agree that tribalism and religion are two most likely issues to tear up a country. As a secular state, those in leadership should do well always to protect the secularism by spoken words and action. The President may have Christian friends, it does not matter, I also have Muslim friends (mostly westerners ) but we avoid deep religious discussion for reason I don't want to go into. We just have mutual respect for our moral believes. Buhari past comments has always supported sharia system across the country. and as the president, his silence on certain national issues could be taken as supportive. Do you think having two different justice system in Nigeria, will bring about the desired life improvement or add up to the already heated environment and confusion. It is not about Buhari, it is about protecting Nigeria, if Nigeria is what we want. It is just my thought, yours may be different. God bless the people of Nigeria |
Taryur3:To the northern Muslim, the VP don't count for anything. If not for political reasons, Buhari would have preferred a muslim - Muslim ticket. His comments on his religious believe and desire is well documented. Nigeria is a secular state, and should avoid any form of religious infringement on our constitutional laws. |
greatgod2012:Anything is possible in this country, it will only take sometime which may not even be our time. Just be vigilant. The elders may have information which you and I do not have. |
Amother4life:How many people here has been to the ND rural area, and see the destruction done to the area. This same agitation got Saro Wiwa dead yet nothing has changed. Until there is a clear joint development plan and implementation between the states and federal government there will be continued pocket of militancy in that region. For long the ND people has been seen as minorities, and have no say on what happens on their land further destroyed by military rule. I don't think any of the major tribes will allow this in their dormain. While violence and militarization of ND is not the best solution. Nigerians should demand federal government investment in the area, not the current settlement of some few while the huge majority suffers.GBTPN |
Nychillax:Have you by any means looked beyond GEJ. Nigeria should move on. Our constitution has always been questioned even before OBJ. Everyone accepts that there are fundamental issues with the constitution except those who benefit from the status quo. If you are an apostle of CHANGE, don't you think there is need to look into the various CONFABs for implementation. Don't you think Nigeria should fashion out a way of governance that suit our coexistence? Do you think we are practicing true federalism, corruption or no corruption? Do you think there is a Nigeria in the real sense of a Nation. How many can stick out their neck for Nigeria in the present tribalized country? Many are sticking out there neck for Biafra, for what they believe, what do believe and can die for? Let assume the oil dry today, what do think will be the situation of the ND, beggars abi. Then you will see the true colours of the North abi. Let think, discuss, proffer solutions and push for implementation and stop looking back with subjective mind set on past administrations. God bless the people of Nigeria |
A visionary Leader sees tomorrow, today. It will be very difficult for any government to manage subsidy regime without huge corruption be it GEJ or PMB. There is no right time to do the correct thing other than when discovered. Supporting it then or now makes no difference, the bottom line is you were in the opposition. And the opposition then never saw anything good in the policies of that regime. The Buhari's government will get the necessary support where it does things right and will get spanks where it gets it wrong. Lately you have been so silent on national issues unlike the previous government. I am looking forward to your position on the various current national issues. God Bless The People Of Nigeria. |
Alfamann:You are just on point. I have not seen yet in Nigeria that leader who can live above parochial tendencies. No matter how we argue on both divides, if we don't give room for objective reasoning, there is no way we could understand each other. Having said that, ND development problem should be a national problem and not one left to the state governments alone. The past administration put so much effort to improving agriculture in the north let also some other leaders put such effort in the ND. That will eradicate the issue of militancy in the ND. Developing The ND is capital intensive. It's unfortunate that a leadership that came on board on a change mantra could unite the country by giving us an ideological shift based on justice, peace and equity instead got itself messed up by 5% , 97% statement yet some people don't see anything wrong with that. Should we not begin to look into the National Comfabs as a starting point. God bless the People of Nigeria. |
Handsomecole:I am not a hater of OUK but my questions is when did he begin to speaker for Ndi-Igbo. He had his the opportunity to change Abia for good but he did not and to cap it all, he install T.A Orji who was also a total failure. The only mark of history I can remember him for the 8 years as the governor of Abia is Enyimba wining the CAF Champions Trophy. The bottom line is that the recent crop of leaders from the east do not inspire much, due to their failure to connect with their people by bringing about a meaningful development in their respect states. Most of them stay in Lagos and Abuja with no really big investment back there, but you have them buying huge assets in Abuja and in diaspora. Charity begins at home. |
Dhavido:If you have PHCN power in your house now please click on like cause I don't have. |
millionaireman:Nigeria will continue to struggled since we don't have a stadium for the national team. With all the glory and pride National Stadium Surulere brought this country. it has been abandoned and matches moved all over the country. That is the story of Nigeria, no consistency, don't know how to maximise our advantages. Even on the pitch the players to know how to put pressure on the referees just like the north Africans. Football has moved forward in Africa leaving us behind. |
