How else do you expect us to survive out there ? Like you guys will willingly surrender your legal jobs for us.

With your master degree..we 'll only reserve menial jobs for you e.g selling fake DVDs..but if you exceed our generosity by embarking on drugs,we 'll not hesitate to put a burning tyre on your neck! You have been warned, dont cry foul when it happens!

I know a lot of Nigerians working in sa with ordinary bsc

The South African government just introduced critical skills visa in 2016

Don't mind the troll

That was a sign of jealousy

No they don't oo
it depends on who you are dealing with

The 2014 battle was a little tough. it was the Zulu king that told his village people to attack foreigners because in his words "they have stolen their jobs"

I can boldly tell you most of the people who got hurt were not Nigerians, "trust igbo boys now'" cheesy

The military had to come to clam the situation and deport a few Nigerians too grin

you're lying bro, the Zulu king said no such.

When we are talking about SA, we are talking about Zulus (the other tribes are just minorities) and i can authorively tell you that those barbarians hate Nigerians. They even hate Nigerians more than the whites that colonised them.

If you had said it's only the uneducated ones that hates nigerians, i would agree with that but then again, how many of them scaled through matric ?

Bottomline is that they hate all non South African blacks but Nigerians rank first on their hate list.

Lol. Dem no reach na. They only get to Nigerians through their Xenophobic police, immigration officers and all. Truth be told, they have every reason to hate us. The flamboyant lifestyle of our igbo brothers there sef too much
here's the cold hard truth. most African countries aren't exactly warm or welcoming to Nigerians, it's not a South African phenomenon. the question you should ask yourself is why

I think some zulus are naturally intimidated by Nigerians because they see us as threats. I have a lot of xhosa friends, but they are very similar to the Zulu

he later said he only told them to cultivate the land or something in his "indaba" peace meeting at Moses mabida stadium, but why did the people from zululand and environs invade Durban in the first place?

Even Julius malema spoke out against him that year.

its a Nairaland myth because everyone on this site thinks the King ordered the attacks and people simply charged, it's much deeper than that

I repeat, I wasn't a regular on nairaland then

That was the believe of every foreigner in Durban then.

Wasn't that the reason the king had to host the "indaba"

I don't know if it was accurate though, but majority of the attackers then kept shouting "the king told us to wipe you out"

Zulus are naturally mean, even to the rest of the SA tribe.

Yeah bro, i did.
You guys can't tell who's Zulu and who's not, because you don't assimilate in South African society like Zimbos or even Pastikanis etc You live in SA but hardly understand that country because you don't even understand local languages or the culture. for example in Johannesburg especially, a lot of people speak Zulu but that doesn't mean they are Zulu, a lot of people in Gauteng especially are of mixed tribes, Zulu mixed with Tswana, Sotho with Venda etc I'm also of mixed tribes, so by lumping Zulu people is baseless since you don't even know what constitutes a Zulu person. Zulu people are some of the nicest people in SA and are generally known for their kindness and respect, those hostile to you it's because people are generally wary of Nigerians not intimidated or envious of them

some criminal elements saw an opportunity in these attacks but the King never ordered any attacks, the king simply aired some concerns regarding people who are in the country illegally and who are contributing in criminal activities in the country

contrary to popular belief here on Nairaland, no South African in a right frame of mind simply sees a Nigerian and kills them, we are not killers, we couldn't care less really. There is a always a deeper reason behind these attacks, narrow minds will say it's because of "envy" jealousy" etc I'll give you an example just last week at Krugersdorp, there was a house owned by Nigerians and that house was burnt down by the community because it was found to be a brothel and there was a mission g girl in that house. No, South Africans don't hate Nigerians

Bad South Africans hate most Africans for no genuine reason. They also attack the Somalians, Congolese, Zims and Ethiopians. it just that the attacks on Nigerians get more attention on Nigerian media.

For example, I have a South African friend currently helping a Nigerian on this forum get a Sa visa.

When I was in school the people who helped me the most were South Africans, Zimbabweans and Zambi. They were some of my closest friends and still remain my friends till today

Most south africans are good people
We supposedly hate other Africans but there's no country in Africa which has a large population of African immigrants like SA, we even have Egyptians , Libyans etc , we live side by side with Mozambicans, Zimbabweans etc in townships for many many years , they are our barbers, carpenters, tilers etc, we don't hate these people actually a lot of people like Ethiopians in SA. South Africa is not a perfect country we also have our problems, now if you keep bombarding a country with a huge number of illegal and unskilled immigrants logic dictates that a conflict will arise with our own jobless people because of scarce resources, people who are concerned with their jobs being stolen are the people in the bottom tier. I as a university graduate can't exactly be bothered by an unskilled Ugandan immigrant for example. with such a huge influx of these immigrants the country social systems are bound to implode, rather blame your governments because if they took care of you there wouldn't be a need to track down to south Africa for a good life and

I understand your logic, but your immigration officers and other government officials also need to shoulder some blame for the menace you are experiencing. Your government needs to tighten the borders and deport those who have no business being in south Africa. it is not in the place of citizens of any country to take the laws into their own hands. it doesn't speak well of a country everybody calls the rainbow nation

I have seen South Africans who are barely educated complaining about Nigerian university lecturers of stealing their jobs.

A good percent of the lecturers in your educational sectors are from other African countries because south Africans don't generally fancy such careers

A good number of people in the field of medicine come from other Africans from other countries

A decent percentage of those aforementioned people are Nigerians.

These set of people have contributed their quota to the development of your country, but are never acknowledged. Instead most of your brothers on this forum are quick to insult our country.

@bolded I agree with this your assertion, but more often than not some innocent Nigerians get blamed and lynched for no reason.

Most south Africans believe most Nigerians are into drug dealing.

I came across a lot people who kept bugging me with stupid questions on drug business during the years I spent in your country.

This unfair classification of Nigerians is what most Nigerians don't like

After all, there are many other nationalities dealing drugs in south Africa on a large scale

actually a Nigerian is the last person to tell me that I'm insulting their country, we learn this type of behaviour from you

True, the government and the immigration officer must shoulder some of the blame but the people at the bottom tier of South African society do not give a damn or are oblivious to such things as immigration policies and stuff

there are African professionals in various spheres of South African but by in large South Africa attracts the illegal and unskilled immigrant that adds nothing to the SA economy and up resorting to crime. most doctors are South African

I am not talking about medical doctors alone, there are many specialist in the field of medicine that are from other African countries. I have an uncle working as a specialist in one of your hospitals.

I believe you dismissed the impression of people of this forum as ordinary chants in your previous post. So why should you take the insults on this forum as the general behavior of Nigerians.

Don't take the tribalist rants you see on this forum as the true picture of Nigeria. The truth is that some of those leading the chants are married to people from other tribes or linked with other tribes.

it's true that most South Africans believe that Nigerians are drug dealers that is why I laugh when people start screaming "the envy our swag" lol, you really can't envy people you associate with criminality. of course it's impossible for every Nigerian to be a criminal, but this association with criminality is not a South African phenomenon but a global one, just check how you guys are treated abroad in Asian countries especially, I once read that in Portugal Nigerians were deported for ATM scams, Oprah once dedicated her entire show on Nigerians scamming Americans via cyber fraud to build mensions in Nigeria, a large number of your countrymen have given you a bad name abroad

I get that, many Nigerians are into crime, partly because we have a large population and very few opportunities in our country. other reasons is purely because of greed.

That doesn't mean Nigerians have not contributed to global development as well. we have a dynamic entertainment industry, we have icons like the Nobel prize winner Sole soyinka and great writers like Achebe

Nigeria produced some of foremost scientists of substance on the continent

Even some South Africans have been arrested for drug trafficking in Asia in the past.

it is not fair to classify people together without proper justification
