Politics › Re: Opposition Politics; To Play Or Not To Play by 49cents(m): 7:56am On Jan 30, 2016 |
MizMyColi:
A fine evening to you Ladies and Gentlemen
It is the duty of the opposition to criticize the ruling government when it hides from its duties or conceals facts. This it must learn to do with every ounce of credibility. It has a duty to ensure that its stand is issue based, assertive and devoid of the attendant bile and bitterness which has mainly characterised our political landscape in recent times.
Sometimes though, the opposition tends to miss it. It is imperative that we lean to draw a fine line between playing opposition and sycophancy.
Opposition politics has to be people oriented. It always has to be chiefly about the people. A call to the wonderful world of politics should be seen first and foremost as an opportunity to serve.
Whenever we hear the term opposition, our heads are synced already to the party wars and affiliations. We think of effective opposition as being denigrative, insultive and what have you. I will like to make it clear today that people who reason and act along those lines do not have best intentions for this nation... What is the use of being an opposition person if my motives are not clearly defined? What is the use if not to see my country better again.
Now it is not so much about what you are doing as the opposition, but how you are doing it. Are you opposing constructively, or destructively?
The fact that a bad precedence has already been laid does not mean we can not do what we should to correct things. I have decided to play my part by ensuring that whether I speak for or against this government, it should be from a standpoint of love, for this country, for my people and for my generations yet unborn. Anything less is selfish and should not be promoted especially when key sensitive issues are on blast. Nigeria needs selfless people. People who have decided to rise above greed and avarice inorder to champion the cause of this nation. We need to put a stop to Machiavellian politics which has so saturated our climes with its cynical disregard for morality and promotion of self interest.
I understand that politics is basically about the distribution of power and societal resources, however It's time we put a human and transcendental face to politics.
We cannot become what we need by remaining what we are. Miz m....Ada anji ejemba. Jisike!!! |

TimeManager: OP, i love the picture you put up there, it perfectly depicts a frustrating figure & a wailing countenance of an average lowly biafran. Secondly, the quack of a dutch lawyer is nothing but a scam artist who will not decline an oppourtunity to fleece ipobs to fulfil his tax obligation. I recommend they hire the dutch prime minister the same manner they hire putin immediately after his arrest. Ipob buffoon should read between the lines in the latest judgement of the federal high court pronouncing kanu a security threat. I laugh in biafra. Buffoonery is allowed. The truth has spoken! There really isn't any need to get angry with biafra; you will shocked that not many igbos will supprt it: I am Igbo but I don't support one bit. What I friend strange is that a president or citizens, detests a people with dissenting voices and yet when they won't to leave the same people get overtly angry. Does is really add up? The simple way is to conduct a poll to test the popularity and move on. What iBuhari and people like you actually scared of on this biafra matter |

* You traveled all the way to lagos to meet a stranger
*You couldn't differentiate between a residential building and a Hotel at your age
* They took you in through the back door? Dafuq!
* A rapist confidently seeing you off
The police should check their chat history because this seems like typical olosho business gone wrong. And if the guys are guilty they should be dealt with accordingly. Finally I see some sensible post The police know the issue isn't rape but Nigerian Police wants to monetise the case. With it going to State CID, it won't end in court at least N500K will be made by the officers in charge both of Igando and the State CID to "close the case. Case is business for police |

Tolexander: This is not a "push the blame".
Just a "look into the past" how it could have prevented and help the present issue. If Jonathan ensured the vaccine was ready will the present minister in all honesty praise him now Why did it take scores of people to die to hear the minister speak up on the matter? For me he reeks of incompetence. The objective way to assess any incumbent administration is its. Actions to solving the problemsthey met, afterall it was precisely because of incompetence, real or percieved, that the past government was sent away |

madetayo: Another IPOB psycho on the loose. To answer you question about an Hausa man castigating his brother in government, GMB did that with Umaru Dikko many years back and presently dealing with Dasuki and other northerners who looted our country. I'ts high time we stopped defending crooks based on tribal or ethnic sentiments. To me,a Yoruba man who loots Nigerian funds is a thief and not a hero Buhari served in the most corrupt and depostic regime in Nigeria's history. Ten years after the Tyrant fell to death he declared Abacha never stole!!!! Dasuki and Lamido are more of personal vendentta My original point is you will never catch an average, educated northerner lashing an accused northern figure just the way southerners do; even the yorubas wouldn't do the same so spare me the patriotic rant You guys ain't loyal to fair play all you want is your selfish gain |

What's the big deal in gathering intelligence in neigbouring countries where they might have been married off? The BBC hausa radio service with is broadcasted along that Belt can run sponsored sensitisation jingles and announcement.....haba one or two of the Chibok girl(who by the way are educated) will respond and from there more intelligence will be gathered If I applied for a driving job and am eventually employed for that Job only to "tell the truth" that I don't know how how to drive, should I still be retained on that Job as a driver For me PMb has allowed Dasuki, Kanu, Tompolo and the rest to distract himself from looking at other issues of serious national interest, like the Chibok girls and growing the economy! He should change is formation fast or he may wake up to 2019 and the usual excuse that he is clearing the mess of the last administration may not sell even to his fans |
Politics › Re: They Want To Frame Me For Bombing Oil Facilities’, Tompolo Cries Out by 49cents(m): 6:46am On Jan 15, 2016 |
Why is that you all can't see the deciet in Tompolo's statement He says "they want to frame him up for pipeline destruction".....which means he plans to actually send his boys to blow up the pipelines in the event of his arrest while these statement serves to exonorate him since he had said so befor eht epipeline wis been blown up as a pressurefor FG to set him free of the charges against him.... Secondly, he speaks of one Nigeria because he knows that is what makes Buhari and the Northern ruling class happy so that they will mitigate the level of sanction he should face before the court Now what has IPOB has to do with Tompolo's arrest? Why are Igbos brought into this? Igbos sef should cease from "fighting for justice in other peoples" since they end up being so ungrateful..... You can imagine the risk the Igbos took giving GEJ unalloyed support: he lost the elections but he wasn't disgraced at the polls Infact had Buhari not rigged the elections by enlisting underage voting he won't have won Yet the Igbo man's support of jonathan is been reduced to "oil" in the SS as though Igbos don't have oil in their own states Well I have understood one thing now the SS do not trust the Igbos so Igbos should let them be.....perhaps when the North and SW are done with them by sending GEJ to jail, they will wake up Isn't it happening already with the new directives for states to mine their local resources while Oil remains for Nigeria Any Igbo who still supports GEJ or the Niger Delta cause is a big fool. Igbos remember our greatest resource is in our head let's make the Igbo nation Africa's China!!! |
