well, i installed my 4955B yesterday, and noticed it took a while to scan.

i think i also noticed the lag in the settings, especially when editing.


but i am unable to confirm if what i bought is even original sha, so i can't even complain.

but my old Azsky G6 is faster at doing everything. only that i can no longer get a remote control for it


meanwhile, if a TP adds channels, will the decoder scan them automatically? or i have to manual scan?

PS: has TSTV reduced their channels again? yesterday i noticed some stations were not present when i blind scanned the bird. eg. Grande Sports 1-3 and the foreign music station were conspicuous absentees

4955 is just a budget decoder compared to 4950 ie 4950 has 2gig ram and can record 2 channels at the same time and so on. if you own a 4955/b you'll notice some lagging when editing channels. it basically cheaper but durable decoder

The guy I met said the available decoder without Internet service is 4k. In fact they have fliers all over the place with same price written on them. However, when I indicated interest to buy, they said installation is 3.5k. I told them no, don't bother coming to install for me, I can do that on my own and then they said, the installation fee isn't optional. I said, wow, that means the decoder in actual is 7.5k and 'technically' 4k and you should've told me that instead of saying it's just 4k. If you can get into fastboot mode, you can try flashing the individual partitions one by one.

You unpack the chinese fastboot rom and get all the files in a folder.

Then you fastboot flash each file going by the name.

If you have a file called system you run

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot flash ebr ebr.tar

Like so for each file using their file extension.

It's exactly what the flash tool does. Only that one is automatic via the gui.




Or power + both volume buttons to try get into edl or try that edl script someone linked earlier

Meanwhile sometimes you can be lucky to get into edl by setting up the whole flashing process and holding down the power button till device goes off whilst the device is plugged in.

Bottom line is that what you need is the new rom

If you need to write these things down in a piece of paper then that's what you do.

Download a developer rom or Chinese rom and flash with Mi Flash tool.


After you can then flash global rom.
