My watsapp has connectivity issues. I've updated and rolled back to previous versions, flashed ROMs, changed SIMs, done APN editting, disabled my Droidwall.....nothing seems to work.
The thing now has a mind of its own. Comes and goes @will.

I wouldn't have been bothered if not that watsapp is arguably the best chat messenger and cuts across most platforms except Java.

So now, it remains editting some .init files and changing permissions and all that para-lingua crap wey U be master in.

Airtel has been misbehaving with some apps, its not your rom.

if u no dey convinced, try anor sim with ur cash on the line, try send msg.

but if it still does not work, you need to:

1. check for push msg/auto sync on your phone if its active. be sure.

2. verify your subscription status. some guys whatsapp na since 2 yrs dem dey use free service

3. check if your present kernels has proper iptables. Just flash a stock kernel, then any new kernel you are using to be sure

if it stil does not work, remove it, purge your dalvik cache and cache, let it be for a day then re-install from market. do not import your backups or anything from sdcard.

if it was not like this before you rooted get back to stock, your root was bad, and prolly the unlock too.

if u have recovery on your kernel and have fixed permissions in recovery without it working, get back to a stock rom.

your baseband unlock will be intact, no issue with that.



EDIT: try to install busybox installer and Superuser from the market, AFTER REMOVING THE ONE U HAVE NOW VIA TITANIUM.

if that dont work, flash the pure stock rom (non-rooted), then take it from there

SBB said that it is contacting Apple to work out a "legal and financial" resolution.

Using the SBB railway clock's design could be viewed as yet another homage to a classic, but it seems SBB isn't going to simply take the compliment. yeah think about it. if you had a phone that when the feature is activated, it would glow subtly when you are holding it (the glow levels should be customiseable)

not sparkling lights like chinko fones o , the entire casing just emits this low warm glow.


this can be further customised into different things like say notifications, or medical stuff like ur pulse rate, or mood

you can just let your imagination run wild.

[size=14pt]I think I figured out why we love to argue about technology. It came to me via the wisdom of my mom, not surprisingly.

It started last Sunday, when I was at her house to mooch some lunch while helping her get photos off of her digital camera and onto a sharing site so she could, ahem, share them. She was complaining that younger generations won't have photo albums, those lovely, physical relics of days gone by that mother and son can pore over and share memories.


"But, we'll have Facebook Timelines," I replied, sheepishly.

She glared.

I glared back.

There was no middle ground. I could have pushed the issue, telling her that it's time to get with the times, that if she wants to be able to share her photos, she should just create albums on Facebook (or even Flickr), tag them, share them with friends, even have them printed and framed. But instead I chose not to. After all, her way was just as good: bring a roll of film to the store, have pictures developed and share them at will. Sure, it's costly to get duplicates made, but the tradeoff is that you have a physical object that can literally be shared, passed from hand to hand, in a warm personal moment.



We've lost that act. We've also lost the act of sitting at the turntable, listening to records after school. At the same time, though, we gained Spotify and playlist sharing.



Which is better? Depends on the person. And that, my friends, is precisely why we continue to argue about technology, get branded as a "fanboy" and wage wars of words about the ways that we all use our stuff.



In fact, some of us even brand ourselves "PC Guy" or "Mac Guy" as if it says something about our personalities. Heck, Apple shaped an entire advertising campaign around the Mac vs. PC personality stereotypes. We don't see eye to eye. For some of us, Android works better than iOS. For many, Facebook is a waste of time while others find it a pleasant addition to their social lives. I know several people who are completely addicted to Twitter, tweeting their every move while others find it a narcissistic nightmare of humanity gone bad -- you can guess which side I'm on.



And yet we feel the need to judge, to toss grenades at one another for our tech choices.



"I just don't understand how you can possibly think that the Commodore 64 is a better machine than the Apple IIe," I told my best friend in eighth grade.

No, I didn't "get it". The Commodore 64 was a closed system without expansion ports and a crummy poke-based version of BASIC that was outdated and stilted. It was, in the words of my 13-year-old self, "lame."


This is going to blow your mind: Turns out we are all different. Who'da guessed? Some people feel more comfortable with Nikons while others swear by Canons. Meanwhile, I love my trusty Panasonic GF1 because it makes me look like a much better photographer than I actually am.


I like rock and roll, my fiancée likes pop. That's never going to end well. People are waging wars at this very moment over religious differences.


But our technology arguments diverge from disagreements about music and religion in that we have numbers and statistics to fuel things along, allowing the arguments to plod forward seemingly forever. It's like sports and cars, where we can argue batting average and horsepower until we're blue in the face. But at the end of the day, you're not going to get me in a BMW and you're never going to find me rooting for the Red Sox.


Perhaps as technology develops, diverges and becomes more ubiquitous, we'll be taking sides the same way we do sports teams: for personal reasons backed by hard facts and a spiffy T-shirt.

are your blackberries desktop phones? cos i sure as hell know that there is no blackberry in existence on this planet that can download gigabytes of data at one go on its battery, matter of fact merely pinging on a BB with 3G data on will net you a around of 5 hrs use much less downloading on nigeria's crappy networks.

secondly, before you lie, there are no download managers for blackberry, so download resume is not going to happen.

matter of fact the only way you get to download files above 5MB is using UCBrowser, and its download manager is pretty hit and miss. it also does not support java script properly



so are you saying that your Blackberries are practically desktop phones permanently tethered to the socket to download gigabytes?


were it not for operamini, would you even be able to browse with blackberry with that evil useless, rubbish crappy browser?


BTW, all the talk of unlimited download is off the mark, YOU ARE USING TRICKS TO SPOOF THE NETWORKS TO GET YOUR SO_CALLED UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS, RIM has a data transfer cap of 5MB at a go, 5. RIM or your provider NEVER intended for you to have "unlimited" downloads

the lesser the amount of OEMs google has to massage, the better. if they adopt Sammy/Motorola they can finally get the update issue under control.

Fact is google really needs to do something about it. they need to drastically reduce the turnaround on updates. its practically impossible with the number of OEMs now. with just one or two, with more stringent control, they can get it reduced to like 3 months

and they seriously need to orphan a lot of the older devices. fact. i dont understand why there are still devices running 1.6 or 2.1 in the market


secondly Google needs to adopt some "evil". the Acer/Aliyun thingy was a very positive step to me. now they need to kick out some of the cruft, and stamp out all this forking android shyte.
