SECONDLY; i considered that in how many ways does the BB at present differ from the WP8 Nokia? Nokia has announced some hardware, with fancy bells and whistles and good looks. RIM is yet to do so. what they will come up with is anybody's guess. BUT Nokia is not out, RIM are not out. Nokia's primary claim to fame and attention is the brand name and track record. quite a lot of pple will buy the phones because its the new nokia, and they usually were dependable. everybody wants to relive the nokia fanboy days RIM has an even larger set of people in this position. they dont get the younger generation because they did not move with the times, now they are playing catch up. if they release products with pizzazz, there is a whole generation ready to pick them up and influence the younger ones to check it out. "the new blackberry is so coool" ![]() only a few people (relatively lets be honest) actually know WP8 as a quantity. BB10 is precisely in the same category. and simply because RIM has decided to piggyback on Android, they have made life much much easier for themselves, its easier to convert android apps to BB10 apps. its just a recompile, in 2 weeks its ready. every dev will definitely try their hands at it from where im standing, its the same position to Nokia bar one! if they will actually survive long enough to be profitable again. unfortunately, RIM does not have a sugar daddy to bankroll the drain. if not for MS, i daresay Nokia would have gone under by now. like i said, fingers crossed, 2013 will be interesting. if you are giving nokia/wp8 a chance then surely u have to give RIM/BB10 a fighting chance too. u do know that RIM actually has a lot of fanboys too eh? ![]() |
Yeah, i thought along your line of argument. i have always been one of the staunchest advocates banging on about the death of RIM/BB. just ask v3 ![]() i followed the presentation yesterday. matter of fact i was kind of surprised by what they put up. now they are yet to announce any hardware, they are yet to announce prices or dates. BUT i asked my self one critical question: why did pple dump blackberry? i believe it was because it was a backward POS phone with a dead OS and no wow factor. it was not because it suddenly killed them to use it, (truth be told it usually felt that way to me sha )so i went further and said, if RIM turned up with a marketing blitz and a new phone/OS that matched what the competition had in looks, apps, hardware specs, etc etc etc. would people be interested in buying it, rather than say for example an Iphone? By January 2013, CES 2013 will come around. CES is usually when the best and brightest of the new SoCs are shown off. Samsung will stay away as usual, but expect the next wave of Motorola, HTC, Sony and LG hardware, running on A15 CPUs and much more powerful GPUs. Specs lovers will be tempted to wait.whats to say RIM do not intend to join the A15 cpu/gpu wave? it would definitely be criminal if they did not join the specs arms race, even apple had to join ![]() i decided i was not a proper subject to answer that question, primarily cos well........ im me. so i did a short opinion poll from about 30 folks yesterday evening, tech savvy and ignorant alike. i also floated it online on a few boards, got like 20 responses the result was weird, EVERYONE said, IF BB MATCHED IOS OR ANDROID IN LOOKS AND PERFORMANCE THEY WOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER GETTING ONE. somehow they all seemed top classify a BB to be a separate device from any other smartfone! like it was a class of its own thing! so it was yeah Iphone or android is fine, i would not mind getting a BB in addition. the primary consideration though seemed to be the looks and effizy!, it simply must look modern for them! |
yeah well shit happens. come to think of it. had it been arsenal that was going thru a 4 game no win streak and got dumped out of the league cup, u can imagine the type of comments we would be having now! |
nah I'm sure the dude was prolly throwing a tantrum and got his wenger-induced injury increased to 4 weeks he better be careful, lehmann and almunia both Thot it was a joke too wen they got a wenger injury |
@debosky may God forgive u the shekpe keeper strikes again!!! he is back...........again |
hopefully this one wont take forever to boot and wont crash so often. i still. marvel at how these cats were able to get everybody to adopt that POS os/phone. i guess happy days are here again for the pinging folks. I'd like to see the carrier that will retain unlimited BIS on this ones. |
attention please. allow me to officially congratulate RIM. with today's presentation at the jam they have achieved parity with nokia/ms. and in some ways surpassed em. see y Nokia should have released asap! 2013. is gonna be interesting. |
seriously? wow. its part of the android SDK so u will need to download the whole SDK about 90mb. there are countless posts online where u can learn how to use ADB. Google is ur paddy. welcome to the real world. enough of that nannying ignorant bs on other platforms. ur about to have lotsa fun |
Anyways goodluck with that ish man, but i do know if you had bothered to check XDA or ask there you would have been given an answer. matter of fact in brisngr case i suspect that you would not even need the usb jig at all. like puskin said its possible just ADB will boot you into download mode since the device still lights up. try leaving it plugged into usb for hours sha, just to be sure the battery charges. and do try another battery if possible, just in case. stuff like this is why pple like me dont buy into all that closed device, non removable battery, closed ecosystem crap. |
How do you use USB jig? actually this part is quite straight forward. however, i will still try to provide step by step guide (i prefer to do/read it this way, easier to read and understand). a) how to unbrick your phone - Turn off your phone and pull out the battery for 2 seconds. - Put the battery back in the device and don't turn it on. - Plug the jig into the micro USB port on the phone. - After about few seconds, your phone should boot up automatically and bring you straight into download mode. - Unplug the jig. - Connect your phone with USB cable to computer and then flash your phone via the program "odin". |
What does USB Jig do? In short, USB Jig has 3 functions: - Get into download mode (main function) If you soft brick your phone, you can force into download mode using USB jig and reflash new kernel or ROM. As far as i concern, there are few ways to force into download mode, however this is the most simple way to get into it. If USB jig doesn't work, i don't think other method will work either. this will not work for fully hard bricked/dead phones |
What is USB Jig? - USB jig is actually a micro-USB device which consist of soldering a micro USB plug, and resistors/resistor (as long as you get value of 301k, however, some claim it will still work even between 300k - 400k, not exactly 301k). Where to get one? There are actually 2 ways to obtain this tiny piece yet important device for most samsung android users. You can either purchase it from ebay or make it yourself! - Actually it is selling very cheap at ebay (roughly around US$ 2.00) and worth to invest. However, in my opinion, it is a MUST for everyone (you are exclude if you are not into rooting and flashing your phone). - I will not go into how to make a homemade USB jig. You can refer to the link below for reference. Brisingr: there were some few bugs like going off by itselfs and showing battery disconnected msgs when charging ............................It lights up like it wants to charge then d screen goes blanks and it keeps repeating this action anytime its plug to an external power sourceif the above is the present state of the phone its bricked, but probably still recoverable. i thought you meant it would not power at all!. EITHER YOU FLASHED A WRONG/BAD KERNEL or pit, or the power source fcked it up! does the pc detect it? what about entering download mode? if the pc detects it, a usb jig may get it up and running, then u need to get the unbrick firmware from Samfirmware.com and flash all the files with ODIN get a ubs jig online from amazon or any retailer, or make one urself following this instructions: http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-hacks/how-to-make-a-usb-jig-for-your-galaxy-s2/ |
texazzpete: 5 million iPhone sold in the first 3 days of availablity...And apple still hasn't rolled it out in much of Europe and Asia. Still 22 more countries to go before year end.yawn iPhones always do well when they're released and slow down later, so don't expect Apple to sell that many every week for ever. if they actually did sell them and not just counted figures of orders by retailers This is mostly the fanboy effect, where phone nerds with no life wait in line to buy a phone nearly identical to the one they already have whereas other phone manufacturers cater mostly to sensible people who don't do stupid shit like that. |

hello lastmen THE BIGGEST PROBLEM ABOVE ALL Research In Motion, long the dominant provider of smartphones to business—and until two years ago, the overall market leader—has been hammered by market missteps, delays in new versions of its BlackBerry phone line, and the ascent of Google's Android and Apple's iPhone. Now, according to a report from the Toronto Globe and Mail, the company has reached a tipping point, with analysts expecting the company to acknowledge a worldwide decline in subscribers to the BlackBerry mail and messaging service in its next earnings report later this week. |
coogar: far majority of the americans don't have a clue - then again, there's a possibility the video was staged. she said she's owned previous apple phones and she thought she could get the iphone 5 for $100-$200? bizarre! what are the odds that this video was made by those obnoxious samsung dickriders?THIS LINE IS THE BEST "I know, so congrats to me about getting the Apple 5 because...uhm...I've shared phones before with other people, but I've never owned my own." ROFLMAO! cant say im surprised anyhow. this kinda idiocy is displayed on NL on a per second basis BTW what kinda individual spends hours if not days on a line to purchase a phone? No jobs, nothing else to do but stand on a line? to think that the phone coulda been ordered anyway

Nurudeen_A: what can i do abt my android tablet that is refusing to boot. Plz i need helpwhich tab is this? |
Bawss1: The Lumia 920 has more appeal to me than the i5. It seems that will be my new purchase. . . next yearwell if not for the fact i know MS is a shitty company that will prolly mess this opportunity up, i believe the Iphone 5 has just let a window of opportunity in for the Lumia series. if only they would get the damn thing out and it corresponds with all the marketing. after the fanboy and me too hysteria has settled, its becoming clear that its not really a compelling release from Apple. sure its the tried and tested formula, but really you cannot say that there is not a window of opportunity for a fresh competitor with the chops to match Apple. other than the apps ecosystem, i do not see how the Iphone bests a Nokia/WP8 combo. all the sticks that Apple trumps as being the factor that makes them stand out ae present on Nokia's phones plus the added novelty. whats left is RIM to make a good showing next year and i will be a happy camper. just in case you are wondering about my tone u need not. i remain committed to my android ecosystem, i thrive best in it. im just happy because i sense that the only thing that will push google into fixing the shortcomings on android is stiff competition. this time next year i fully expect android to be much better than it is now, which is something to behold given that the competition for now are not essentially better. NB: you can save the fanboy commenting that im sure will follow, i am not interested. #in case you haven't noticed. |
