joeydozzy: which phone are you using now cos you ported something of different resolution?

i do these tricks on my x10i. since when does resolution have anything to do with porting? pick a CM rom as a base (preferably one built with sources for your processor and GPU), edit your .jar files, apply your hacks and tweaks, recompile.

it cant be an issue considering that merely changing DPI in the buildprop will give you an entirely different resolution anyway,

my other phones are not to serve as guinea pigs for now.






edge/2g connectivity is entirely due to the network. i have found that nigerian networks have really poor edge and 2g services, understandable considering that their 3G is barely passable. its not due to android. still you may apply network tweaks to your build.prop, but i usually dont see them make much of a difference in naija. try setting google DNS sha, that helps

edit your build.prop, change the model name and number to that of a phone that can downloas gameloft games, e.g Desire HD or Nexus

for some weird reason i cannot install titanium on my ICS ROM.

monkvirus: Well brother, it's like this, i bought a Htc mytouch 3g on saturday, and i was told by the guy whom i bought it from dat i should download Andriod market or google play store to av access to unlimited download.
I tried downloading the stuff and after doing so, it refused to work. I would say add account to device, do u want to add acct, & i clicked yes, but the app did not prompt me any where, so my frnd so i managed to add my gmail account. but the google play store would still tell me to add acct. But on monday my frnd using d same fone came around to help me resolved d issue, but contrary to wat i was thinking he said d fone was not an original fone, and he showed me some evidences. i cant download any thing it will tell me to add account, wen booting it will show a is cyanogen(mod)7 logo and also d wi-fi signal strength is very poor compared to wat my frnd is using.
i am even confused, so dats y it seems as if i am sayin nonsense .
pls i need ur help.

google your imei. open your phone, remove the battery and google the imei. if ur fone is real, it shld give you a valid responce of your device.


if your device is real, what has happened is that the person who sold it to you had earlier flashed a cyanogenmod 7 build on it, one which by your account is buggy.

what you then need to do is flash the stock OS back on it. i see from google it seems to be froyo.

BTW is the phone branded? does it have T-mobile or AT&T or any carrier logo on it?

Just wipe cache for Google framework and playstore.

I don't think any thing is wrong with the gapps else they would be force closing.

If that fails look for a flashable gapps package for gingerbread and flash it.

nope what they announced is different from the app player tripe. that was supposed to be a stop gap measure
the playbook does not run BB10 for now.

actually what they said is that for BB10, it supports apps coded in c++ and some other yada yada software tech mumbo jumbo.
bottom line is that developers can simply recompile their source code for apps developed for android into native BB10 apps.

apparently the time to do so is pretty small and effortless. u don't have to code anything new. they demo-ed a android foursquare app so converted and developed within a week at the Jam.

and actually they did say that they definitely have more apps at launch than any other platform.

the dual profile thingy is also very nice too. fully jumping into the BYOD revolution


i do think that their hardware will make or break them, i saw the leaks too and i dont really think thats all they will release.
besides they committed to doing qwerty and full touch devices so all their bases are covered.
