a laptop coming with a distro aint news, at comp villa av seen an acer, a hp and a dell, with ubuntu on them from factory.

then secondly, look lemme be frank with u, what is the base of this distro? debian?

look it is a shame that u guys have to go on and start a commercial linux distro!!!!!! the way i see it, u make bill gates look like a saint. ur core is free, the kernel is free, hell YOU DO NOT even develop any apps on ur own, and u turn around to sell it at least bill pays his developers!!!

yes there are commercial distros around BUT THEY HAVE A BASIS FOR BEING COMMERCIAL AND THEY STILL FULFILL OBLIGATIONS TO THE GPL/GNU LICENSES THEY USE.

e.g. redhat is not focused at the home desktop environment anymore, they target the coys and large scale commercial concerns and their basis for commerciality is that they provide top class support to companies who want to tap into the advantages of linux but do not possess the technical know how for large scale deployment.

they still support MANDRIVA and other RPM based distros for home users for free. redhat is a commercial arm.

do u pple even have repositories? filled with other pple's packages or u just use symbolic links to the debian repositories?

look in case u just woke up, in spite of the great leaps and bounds ubuntu has made, its difficult getting pple to trust it for everyday usage. now u want to SELL linux to pple who will not even use a better alternative which is free!!! or u wanna say ur distro is better than ubuntu and more suported?

when u pple wake up, come back and u will get help to move it. besides there are ways of making money off it other than selling what is free. there are ways or else every other distro will be dead.

hmmn, well, now i used ext4 for the 9.10 /root cos the thing kept on messing up with ext3.

am keeping my fingers crossed now watching if it will misbehave this time again. i use ext3 for home.

well actually i found that ext2fsd made the ext3 partition appear in explorer too but in the end it made me nervous staring at my ubuntu partitions like that so i uninstalled it. besides it looks like a major security breach to me and the added risk that some mugun like my bros could look at the partition one day and format it or harm it somehw.

if i need to access the partition from windows i can always install it back.

ok so wats wong with ur cam? i dunno o. wat did u do to it. switch it off remove the mem card, put it back in and switch it on back. if the is any button u need to press before hookin it up, berra press it asap. then plug it back in (hmmmn, brings bad thots, really bad thots) and see again

really ehn, i do not see an argument or the point to the attempted argument. cos like hell win7 has got to be better than vista!!!! vista was injustice to humanity. that thing was what finally killed windows for me.

right now i use a decent hardware but i multiboot with xp, and believe you me i aint leaving it for anything. on xp im in control of my OS and iv forgotten so many hacks on it already.

havent u pple noticed the absence of win7 hacks? terrible. so if u dont like sumtin or u want it anor way u have to pray someone releases bloatware for doing that when a few swings of ur wand oughta do the twick!!!

hey gentle men, iv always been bitching about dual booting and running partitions for both OS, well i think iv found the solution.

i went googling and found a ware called fs driver,. it enables windows mount ext partitions but unfortunately it only fully supports ext2, but i stumbled on anor that can write on ext3, well thats wat i use for my home partitions anyway so lets go there. u can get it at this link http://cdnetworks-us-2.dl.sourceforge.net/project/ext2fsd/Ext2fsd/0.48/Ext2Fsd-0.48.exe


its called ext2fsd, but it reads and write to ext3 too. chinese blokes ehn, dem worry

personally id say, "dont ask". the dude is bent on downloading ALL the content on the net. he has recently been pricing a 100 terabyte hard drive. probly wants 5 of those!!
