You did
Lol.

that wasn't on this thread, and wasn't for you or anyone else in particular.

like i've said, how is it my fault that a suggestion i made in good faith doesn't work for anyone else?

But to be fair 4llerbuntu, on a serious note though, i tried your solution and doesn't work, so I don't think it is the same problem we are facing with your Mtn issue
i offered no solution bro. As far as i am concerned i do not even know anything about anything

besides, its not my responsibility to make people's mifi work. So attacking me for suggesting a solution that doesn't work for you is rather strange, don't you think?

Funny Story!! E long small mk una nor vex!!
A friend ordered a redmi note 4x,got delivered to his post office to recieve as usual.on gettin there, the postman told him to pay 7k for customs charges grin sumtin wey na AES deliver am,not DHL,
The person did the right tin,he contacted me,cos the price was so crazy,he told me the postman was so nice, that he even subsidized the price for him to 5k.i told him not to pay shii,mk he waka comot the post office.
I advised he shld go back the next day, claiming he has sent a mail to PMG(nipost) of the ridiculous charges,nd he was told to ask for the full details of the man that asked him to pay custom duties/charges,(i never knew the guy actually sent the mail grin )on getting to the post office the next day,the post man as he get strong head reach,he ignored the guy, saying he cant give him such info, meanwhile PMG replied my guy for the details of his order,nd the particular post office the incident took place so dey can investigate,
The guy explained to his uncle, who is a friend of the postman, the postman is a friend of the guy's dad as well, his uncle not knowing the procedures paid the 5k and help the guy got his package, with plenty begging oo,the postman was even saying my guy was stubborn, grin ,my guy got his phone sha. sad
Long story cut short!! The post man as early as 7:45am this morning, ran like a man on fire to my guy's place of work, pleading saying his job is on the line, that he recieved a call frm his oga at the top, that they have been extorting money frm people, that he was willing to pay back every kobo of the 5k he collected grin ,that all he needs my guy to do is please help him talk to his oga, that the incident didnt occur at there own post office.
The guy told the postman to go to the office that he wud get back to him later.the guy sef is kinda feeling bad,as d man job dey on the line,
Abeg wetin make the bros do??
Cos am sure if he accepts the postman idea,PMG wud send a mail to ask how far?
Mk una epp me shook mouth ooo

And this goes out to all corrupt post men,we go begin dey blow whistle now grin
He should do NOTHING.

Confirm to his boss that he is indeed the culprit.

he should go and beg his boss well. if he is a good person other people in his place of work will join him to beg.

You need to understand that you cannot be complaining about bad things, fraud, extortion etc, then turn around to be assisting the criminals to evade justice.

You are in the position to say this one simply because the guy could afford to pay 5k for no value and is educated enough to know what to do.

think about those who will not be able to afford this, who will not know what to do or who to report to, who this incident will affect drastically.

Do the right thing, stop encouraging corruption and extortion and then turn round to complain the country is bad.

This is not a case of na me holy pass, but from what you have narrated, that is an EXTREMELY WICKED HUMAN who will do anything to have his way. When he was in the position to be merciful, even ontop of the fact that he was extorting, he couldn't
PhonesRe: E5372s-601 Won't Lock 4g(mtn & Ntel) by 4llerbuntu(op):
For everyone sane going through this issue it is an issue with the firmware.
I had it whilst using MTN with the mifi, other people have reported it using Ntel.

So it's not a network issue.

In my case after a month of using just 3G with it I discovered that their is usually a default APN that the mifi/sim uses when you switch it on.
As far as I know that APN is correct, but 4G wouldn't work.

So I used the Huawei Android app to fix the mifi on 4G only,

then created a new APN entirely.

So each time it refused to connect to 4G, I'd turn off data toggle, switch to another APN (the default spectranet one usually), then switch back to the one I created.

Then re-enable data.

It has always worked for me since I discovered this.

You might also try flashing the mifi, but that's too much stress in my view.

Like I said , ITS WHAT WORKS FOR ME.

IT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU SO PLEASE DON'T ABUSE ME, INSULT ME OR BLAME ME FOR MENTIONING IT.

i have been told it doesn't work by other people

ASK HUAWEI OR SPECTRANET

I don't blame the guy complaining, N12500 is a lot of money in this recession, the best advice is to count it as a loose, learn your mistakes and move on. .
I'm not sure you understand the scenario.

How is the Telco responsible for a defective Mifi they didn't sell?

If your phone stops getting signal today, is it MTN fault?

The data and sim works fine. If the Telco says you should buy their own devices that they tested and can support, we will accuse them of all sorts.

It's funny because now it seems I'm defending Ntel that I'm always criticising, but facts are facts

Like I said, the issue isn't a new one with that device. I had a similar experience using MTN with it.

As for complaining, well if insulting everyone who made the mistake of commenting about the issue is complaining, the world has gone mad

Actually I'm beginning to suspect the account is some Spectranet FUD trolling operation.
Incidentally I thought it was a legitimate issue. Given that I once had that challenge with that mifi which I even made a thread for here :

https://www.nairaland.com/3689484/e5372s-601-wont-lock-4g-mtn

It was a MTN sim that was giving me issues then, so much that they even sent engineers down to investigate.

It was what made me miss the point, but we live and learn everyday.

End of Gist
Please do not quote, mention or address me again.

I have no desire to be the subject of your psychosis.

I already conceded victory to your warped sense of superiority of madness and even APOLOGIZED to you for replying you.

Having not mentioned you henceforth, I do not expect you to continue quoting and insulting me which you have done time and again.

Please respect your boundaries. Neither the members or Ntel handle here is able to assist you, so I do not know what else this thread has for you to warrant these lengthy outbursts.

Just stop mentioning or addressing me. Leave me out of it.

Thanks

For real? All their modems are unlocked? Wow. If this is true then they can't possibly be the problem.
Yes their hardware are all unlocked.

The ones who sold universal router that works WITH ALL network in Nigeria unlocked, sold mifi unlocked, sold phones unlocked, has decided to lock just one random 3rd party mifi model. Just that single model, and not for every unit sef.

Because mine works, oyb's unit works, dudwu's unit works etc. We have immunity.

All other models work. They just don't like that particular model belonging to certain people on their Network.

End of gist

Loool. Wow

I didn't know this thread had been popping since.

I'll advise my people to just unlook. We've been too long on nairaland to engage in this type of inane conversations.

Nobody owes anyone a dot on this forum by way of response so just chill.

Thanks my guy! I tried checking and I saw "Cinnamon", "KDE", "MATE" and "Xfce". I think I should go for "Cinnamon" or what do you think? I have also downloaded Rosa image writer but to download the Linuxmint may hold on small as the size is from 1.6G to 1.9G.
I have not watched the video yet due to data wink grin

Modified:

I watched the video (it's not data intensive tongue ), they did the video with Xfce, maybe I should try that also!
For that laptop, use xfce.

You are sure you bought your sim before I got mine because you were there when I got mine or you gave me money to go buy mine right?
Bros speak for yourself , you don't know me nor neither are you sure you got yours before I did

Since in your own imagination you got the SIM before anyone else, why didn't you figure Ntel was blocking IMEIs from Huawei e5372? Since you are pretty sure you know or get things before everyone, Mr imaginator

The main crux of the matter or argument like you decided to put it, was the Huawei e5372 almost never connecting to the Ntel Network which you were clueless about, even after 5 people had noticed

Before then I thought it was my sim , so I tried a different active Ntel sim and still same issue...then I thought it was my modem but alas when I put an active Spectranet SIM and later an active Swift SIM with their corresponding APNs, it connected without any issues

Then I thought maybe it was the "ntel" APN, so I tried the "vox" APN and no it didn't work on the Huawei e5372 device and besides the website explicitly says it was APN for voice and that was why I specifically quoted the text from their website

I had contacted and visited the Ntel office and all they tried to push was to go for their newly introduced Ntel mifi feigning ignorance that it is likely a strategy to make people dump their Huawei e5372 and buy theirs by blocking IMEIs of such devices
Alrighty then. E never reach quarrel and all this epistle. They have blocked the Mifi noni.

At least we aren't responsible for the blocking. And given that what we are telling you isn't acceptable to you forget the issue then.

No vex eh.
