What is the validity period on the 200 and 500 naira plans? I think I know one thing it can be useful for: IKS , CCAM AND BISS decoders ..... |
spartacus11:I'm just starting to make songs from HQ flacs. doing tests for best quality/support today. when i have more i'll make a drive folder and share with you. remind me in a week or so |
princetom1: Dam5reey:android by default has supported opus and ogg since 5.0 its not an hardware thing like that LTE bands example every phone/person ive sent that file to play it have been able to play it without issues or having to look for some app. Which means Xiaomi removed it from their builds. believe me, its not a issue of dissing Xiaomi. i cape for them harder than you know. but facts remain facts, its a big omission/oversight on their part to not support the codecs for it in the hardware. its just how you use MX Player to play certain things using HW or SW. HW means supported by the hardware and better performance..... |
Lexusgs430:Ah i see. seems its a MIUI issue. All of you telling me to convert to Mp3.... u dunno natinThats a .opus file format encode. i just changed the extension to .ogg that 1.6mb file has the same quality as a 33mb .flac thats the audio equivalent of hevc x265 shebi you know how a regular x264 1080p file can be 2gb upwards in size, whilst the x265 version of the same quality will be 400mb in size? If you are an audyou can get such quality at sizes even lower than mp3 files that sound like crap. Anyways, eventually Neutron Player was able to play the file on my phone too, but that comes with its own decode engine, and doesn't use the phone's own. Xiaomi need to step up in this side |
I need someone to do me a big favor. Download this audio file and play it on your phone. Tell me if it plays I've played it on every other device apart from my Xiaomi using the same apps. I don't understand how come so I want to know if it's a MIUI issue or just my phone It's 1.6 mb https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B39xYnt0Q7O0MGc2TUNBUzh6S3M/view?usp=drivesdk |
moshoodn:http://www.yomitech.com/2015/04/how-to-install-mediatek-usb-preloader.html |
Ativ:yeah, this confirms what i said earlier that it's reading uploads and downloads as one and multiplying them. that modem is doing 'keep-connection alive' on steroids best look around the device management page. might be there's some setting there that you can turn off/on that'll help. |
moshoodn:this is one of those SPflashtools can't recognize device issues... do you have USB Vcom drivers installed on that PC? is the device recognized in preloader mode when you plug it in switched off in Device Manager? That button combination was to go into recovery...... not flash the device o, i don't think i was clear enough earlier. You should be able to enter stock recovery and do a factory reset first, might be your data partition is corrupted. it happens on that device a lot |
dsunmade:did you check the telco data counter if it registered the 1Gb as used on your line? |
moonraker:The bolded is the part i don't get. and telemetry sef won't consume 1Gb in a month unless you are beta testing and committed to uploading every single log ever generated on the PC. |
Galatians 6:9 dsunmade:i still do not subscribe to the bolded. there isn't anything inside a firmware that 'calls home' on its own, because what will it be calling home with? under normal circumstances, 'calling home' would be uploading certain files, logs and info from your PC to an external conduit. so if there's nothing connected at all, what is it homing? plus the stated volume 1gb is rather extreme. the info that spyware targets are usually very small. keyloggers, password sniffers etc, these will give you kilobyte sized files..... but then, never say never. stranger things have happened. problem is: the way to test this type of issue for instance is to put a packet sniffer on your PC network card to log all connections so you can see what is being done. but thats from your PC you see.... if the modem itself is what is doing whatever, i don't know a way to check that, that doesn't require extreme measures like decompiling the firmware or changing it...... ZTE no dey like huawei so probably very difficult my theory is: the modem is configured to constantly read packet activity and keep connection alive always. so its always using data. i also think it counts upload pings and download pings the same. i don't think its calling any home. plus you know some modems have config pages that literally try to go on-line (doesn't make sense, but now i think about it, I've seen that on a ZTE too...) . instead of a local html page that you can use to change settings. even some huawel modems have huaweionline.com as config page, instead of just 192.168.8.1(or equivalent) unfortunately, i can't begin to explain how to use wireshark but if you are really curious you can try get wireshark, read up how to use it and sniff your network card when connected to the modem. most of the log you probably won't recognize or understand. it will contain a lot of connections you'd think are suspicious but really aren't ![]() what are you so bothered about anyway? your dataplan or you have some info you don't want to share with china?? ![]() |
moshoodn:do you have a custom recovery installed? i think you should be looking at a complete SPflashtools flash of the stock ROM. the button combination is volume down + power button. hold the vol down button and press the power button. release the power button and continue holding vol down when it comes on until it goes into recovery |
did you test with those phones at the point of buying the sim? |
Is Ntel having issues this morning? Nothing works |

odilibe:ok, so where does the football aspect come in? and what gap oes this plug at this point? we already watch satellite channels for token prices/free. we catch up via Internet already for our favorite shows and movies...... |
why am i suspicious that this TSTV thing will be regular satellite TV with IPTV section and you will need to supply your own Internet separately? I understand the concept of the hybrid sat but i'm kinda finding it hard to believe thats what will be deployed here...... maybe as per disbelieving Nigerian .I find it hard to be enthusiastic because many have come and gone before them, promising heaven and earth but na wash e end up as. for one thing, concrete details about their service is sketchy........ Anyway, i'm sure you guys will sample it and inform us how far..... ![]() |
ntelassist:Oh so you be engine? Levels. I think say na marketing people dey do all these talkative things ní. Yeah, I'll be expecting feedback from you . Thanks |
am i the only one who has been constantly amused by the drama here? i'm thinking you guys need to pay for entertainment...... |
hodonuu:frankly, this is deeply amusing. Thankfully, the issue you had is solved. and your point is made, ad nauseam. i concede to your superior position. can we try to move on now? we have to remember that this is not a one on one chat application. it is unfair to subject others to having to read these our pointless exchanges..... |
Ntel: A trial will convict you ![]() i think i should mention that if you unlock a device and leave the OS intact like it was from the people who locked it, it is trivial for them to re-lock it if you ever put their sim back in it. i think i recall someone say spectranet relocked some desktop modems sef one time sef this is why its usual practice when you unlock, to change the firmware to un-customised version from Huawei. why it is sometimes said an unlock process is incomplete if it was only sim lock that was removed |
i think we have reached the point where i have to state that if you would like my address so that you can come and beat me, please ask for it "he stuck to his guns" like say dem compel una. i said something, you said it didn't work. e no finish? na me get blame wey i continue dey reply una, na why nothing una talk fit vex me unto the matter. onto better things o jare. Ntelassist this one that Airtel is entering the unlimited game, una sure say una no go return to 10k? ![]() make una think am well o, you know say una speeds are more or less the same........ meanwhile, @ntelassist please help me ask your engineers how to get the router to select one of band 3 or band 8. network on lagos island used to be really good, but since you said you've stopped FUP, its still quite shitty and weak. maybe one band go dey better than the other. on my phone i can do that and it makes a difference sometimes |
oyb:see this guide. its more like installing an app sef:https://www.unlock4modems.com/how-to-update-or-flash-huawei-modem-firmware/ this is the one i'm using WebUI: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B39xYnt0Q7O0T1IyZkZHTERZWUk Firmware: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B39xYnt0Q7O0Q3JYTDFnVXhLbEU since your firmware is fine you can just try the WebUI only |
Meanwhile, I should mention that you need a new dashboard too and not just the firmware. |
hodonuu:you see the problem is when you are quicker to yarn than discern. and i don't mean this in a confrontational manner. For some reason you all felt it was important for me to be right. Which is mad weird because there's no gain in my being right or wrong. Please refer to my posts on previous pages. 1. With my experience in relating with people with differing skill levels I've learnt that you don't suggest a difficult solution before the simple ones. 2. in all honesty i did not immediately avert my mind to the firmware as a primary issue. this is because i assumed anyone who unlocked the mifi also changed the firmware as a matter of course. As you didn't, the other person who said your unlock process was poorly done was right. 3. ironically i actually did mention changing the firmware. the posts are there for reference. I didn't stress it because naturally i know not many people would be comfortable with flashing a mifi. if i suggested 3 solutions and you tried one that didn't work its expected that you maybe try the other two. its a choice 4. For the record, the bug is actually related to the APN. no matter what you set as the APN it doesn't actually change from the Spectranet APN. if you ran a trace on your Mifi you would see it still tries to call that spectranet APN. other networks aren't as finicky about APN like Ntel network is. About a week ago i tested etisalat and glo sim cards in my ntel router, i didnt even set any APN before they worked. 5. Funny thing is flashing the Mifi does not remove the bug still. it just makes it such that you can now switch the APN when it defaults to the Spectranet one. You will still need to do this occasionally, especially if you are fond of switching the sim out of the Mifi. 6. The very first response to my suggestion was unbelievably antagonizing. I immediately apologized for commenting but i kept being attacked. Did you seriously expect me to be bothered about saying more? Can you explain to me exactly why my suggestion of a solution even if wrong warranted so many insults? 7. I deliberately posted the screenshot of my device info page. my imei etc was exposed. I'm savvy enough to know that is wrong but i did it. also asked other people to post theirs on the chance someone would eventually figure it out. which you did Finally, please do not insinuate that i post things here for validation or approval, or that i will engage in a pissing contest with random strangers on-line. With all due respect, we don't know each other but i joined nairaland when it was 3 months old thereabouts and i was not a teenager then sef. that should give some indication about certain info about me. I've had more than one account as people like OYB will tell you. Its not about being right or wrong. Its about helping each other. But the events here in the past week was a learning experience about how-to and how not to do that. Ultimately, i'm happy you fixed your issue. It is unimportant to me whether i contributed to a solution or not. It doesn't add one kobo to my account, nor are there any perks to such a thing on nairaland So enjoy your mifi and refrain from posting snarky comments about people who only tried to help |
Hmnnnnn. It is well, for the spirit of discernment is profitable. Verily it is said, there is no blocking Mr hodonuu. But there is firmware bug, saith the angelica of ntelaria. Once upon a time, in the land of ntelaria, city of Xiaomi, there was a fair mobile phone that refused to connect on stock ROM despite having all bands, and the people raged and cursed against the telco and servants of God Alas, when the fairmobile drank of the lollipop potion, it received life, but a bite of Marshmallow brought it severe affliction, like the plagues of Egypt. So it was, that it suffered until revelation sheweth to the son of man that when the fairmobile partook of a sip of cyanogenmod, it received healing Tis was like a miracle of Abrahamic proportions. And there was singing and rejoicing in the land Such fate was the case of another hebrewfi . It was afflicted with a bug whereat it doth suffer weird issue. It is recorded that this affliction reached into the land of yellow hibiscus and unto the end of the earth. One messenger declared tis apn issue and another prophet also declared incomplete deliverance of this hebrewfi, but both were cursed, spat on, stripped, set upon with stones and sticks and crucified. Thus it was, that affliction continued upon the land, for even those who crucified the son of man doth not have a solution to the affliction. But decreed death be to any doctor who doth attempted to proffer solution, such as it was during the days of Pharaoh Xerxes. But a whisper floated into the land from the land of the dead, for he that is dead may not die and for a messenger hath no name. Tis whispered that if only the hebrewfi with the issue of blood would touch the hem of a new dash/ware and redemption cometh. but the son of man was sent to the sheep and not the ravening wolves. He who hath ears, let him hear what the spirit saith to the church of ntelaria |
