I posted an article about Mediatek SOCs a few weeks ago. Its why these things hardly ever get updates. Mediatek cannot be spending time on SOCs they sold since.

ITs also why at times it seems that tecno releases devices with little difference. U cant change much except u order new SOC, and in a low margin market u need to sell as many units of an order as possible to break even.

The entire board is built to order by mediatek . these 'OEMS' change a few things round the screen, casing, battery.

now you will see quite clearly that the other ainol tab that u condemned in the other thread has the same processor and specs as this 'machine'.

infact lots of chinese devices have this same specs and components, they simply have different casing and packaging.


this one also has a 900* x 600* (approx) screen. quality of display I don't know as I have not seen this in the flesh yet. apparently in china they choose an arbitrary dpi for their device and then market the corresponding cross dpi as the screen specs.

it also suffers the same schizophrenia of not knowing which processor it uses,8382 or 6582

hook it up to droid tools and it will tell you which one is fake.


so you see, the guys who bought that device aren't as stupid as you think they are.

and the other newer ainol devices (the numy 3g being their worst currently) shit on this. e.o.d

i can't get my MIUI port to stop crashing yet. boots fine. but the graphical glitches are problematic.

i also cannot patch the framework.jar since the one in the stock ROm is 16Kb and contains nothing really.

i haven't found a MIUI device with this processor and specs that i can port. i cannot build a ROM since there is no sources

Moto G is a no no I've had it with android crappy google mail app(piling emails from one sender together) and iphone's inadequacy is a story for another day. Mobile games irritate me now thanks to IOS so I don't do any of that. need a budget phone to whip out, surf web and reply msgs till batt gives out 10-12hrs later on 3G(can't stand edge for anything)

I recently bought this samsung galaxy s3(AT&T) from a friend. when i started using it, i notice it does not see network when am inside any building, so i thought of getting an application that would boost the signal strength. I bust into this app called arizapatch online for reviving network. i downloaded it and followed all the process for it installation. After the installation, it ask me to reboot which i did. Sadly, the phone is not just booting again. it says "could not do normal booting" and some other stuff. I tried to flash the rom (because i can boot into download mode ) with various firmware i got from sammobile using odin. But Odin keeps failing during the flashing process. I dont know what to do again and this is really frustrating me. Please, any advice, suggestion or recommendation would be highly appreciated.

you are using a phone which does not use all the nigerian network bands.
the reason network is poor on it is that the Nigerian network bands that can go further and penetrate buildings well are not supported/well supported by the phone's radio.
usually you will find out that some networks (usually etisalat/glo) work better on such phones


Rule of thumb henceforth: AVOID NETWORK BRANDED UNLOCKED PHONES.


to your problem: ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE TRYING TO FLASH AT&T STOCK ROMS? be very very sure!
i know such ROMS are usually scarce.

if the phone has been updated to Android 4.3 then you most likely have the kernel locked and issues with KNOX. downgrading the baseband is almost impossible.

If you are, please let us know exactly what the error on ODIN says.

Note: please be sure you are ticking and unticking the right boxes in ODIN. and Try to use other ORIGINAL usb cables. (i'm presuming you have drivers installed and ODIN detects the phone)

noticed something weird about the device OS.

i could not use it as a base for a port, so i checked well and found the the framework.jar was 18kb

normally it should be around 10mb minimum


so i decided to look for the stock rom from ainol and found it here http://dl.vmall.com/c0da9jn35s


i flashed it and im looking at it well. i suspect already its much better than what i had earlier

dismantle it.

by the way u can forget about good battery life on this device. the kernel is clocked at 567mhz MINIMUM freq.

I guess that's how they managed to make it seem like it runs smoothly. basically its like driving a car in gear 3 permanently.
