For others,
36deg= 9 o' clock
16/17 deg= 6 o' clock

hmnnn. this skew thing i tink it varies slightly sha per location. my 36deg skew is at 3/4 o clock.

grin grin grin grin

no vex, i no be science student when i went to school many many years ago. and i was crap at Technical Drawing lipsrsealed

Material = thick but bendable aluminium.

will be curved at an angle i don't know... perhaps someone knows at what angle the holder should be curved?

should be fairly long.. (the sketch is not representative of the size!!!)

the LNB holder will be held by a screw through that groove that applies pressure... (didn't really think this part through grin grin. maybe the maker will have sound ideas on how to hold it) can be inserted via the top and the bottom depending on where ur targeting.
can be moved easily from side to side, up and down....

should not be too hard to make i guess...... two long pieces of aluminium. one cut in two and bent. holes drilled for screws or tack-bolted at the joints

the middle is bolted to the arm holding the LNB at the dish. will probably require a longer bolt than comes with the dish.

ideas? contributions?

NB. This sketch and device is patented!! if i see it in the market na kasala ooooo

please try not to be lazy.

Multi tv=12523 v 19531

Amos 5=11881 v 27500

Dinobenson: tanx so much for the prompt response, but what can i use to attach it? I can track the above satellites individually in matter of minutes but attaching an lnb or lnb's,that is a different ball game! Cos i have never done a thing like that or seen it done.tanx and most grateful once more.
well u have to be inventive. think outside the box. or get some aluminum maker or welder to fabricate stuff for u.

my example in the picture is actually copper wire cables twisted together and covered with black tape. I'm considering visiting some aluminum guy to make a holder but I need to make up my mind on what it will look like with the measurements.

just be creative. who knows u could show us the way. I tried creating a thread for this purpose but received no response.

Well i can tell you one thing for sure. U need ti have the dish somewhère accessible where u can stand in front and work wìthout hassle.

The only sure one is multi tv and dstv. The space between them is approx 5 cm. And they are on a straight line.
Any other one u woùld have tò track first with ur hand to decipher where u will attaçh it.

For avoidance of doubts, can you guys post the STRONGEST and EASIEST to track TPs for these Sats:

36 Deg EAST:

28.2 Deg EAST:

16 Deg EAST:

7 Deg EAST:

I have lots of TP i culled from various threads written down, but it appears a lot are either wrong or not easy to get.

For instance i recall that when i tried to get 16 Deg EAST, i eventually got signal on one TP. so i blindscanned and got the Daarsat channels.
however, the TP i got here ended with 30000, but when i blindscanned i saw the TP onscreen on the stations to be 30001

a precise list of the easy and confirmed TP would be handy for all newbies.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Newbie In Satellite Installation: Introduce Yourself Here With Your Problems by 4llerbuntu(m): 11:01am On Oct 07, 2013
I must thank you for your infinite patience.

1. Track MultiTV as the primary LNB, then get a maximum signal of 97% or at least above 90%.
The thing is:
Like i said i did this before...... so i get how it works....
problem is no matter how hard i try, i have never crossed 65% quality. believe me i have spent patient hours at this thing...

It has me wondering.... im using a 90CM dish with Fuji HD Lnb, and a No Name (FTA) box (for underhand reasons) .........
Perhaps My LNb or the box is deficient? as far as i can tell the box does ok. at 50% strength it does not freeze or crack at all.

im skeptical about those my Lnb. i have 4 of them. i opted for them thinking they were much better than ₦500 strong Lnbs. got them for ₦800 each. thinking about it critically i suspect its either them or the decoder thats giving me hassle

PS: To be fair, i checked my neighbors Professional SAT installer DSTV setup and found that they had 60% signal too (The chap used a SAT finder sef cheesy cheesy !!!)

How to do it? after getting the signal, adjust you dish little by little, up/down, right/left
while watching you screen to see where the signal increased and decreased, i.e. if you have 60% and move the dish up,
the signal should increase, but if if decrease, try moving it down, to see if it will increase.
If moving up and down the highest signal you can get is 60% leave it at that point, then try moving it left and then right,
checking also the point at which you get increased signal. You can still try the up and down movement at this point also
to see if the signal increases, then tighten your dish at that point.
THIS!!.

precisely why i have now put the Dish where its easy to do. TBH i think iv been doing this procedure exactly. what is strange tho is that the maximum spot is that 65% and for some weird reason i always have little margin for error! once i lock in, the slightest shake or movement and the signal is gone. and even marking the spot on the dish/pole is a waste of time

The next step is to loosen the LNB holder a bit and
turn the LNB clockwise and counter clockwise (this is called skewing) signal will increase or decrease, tighten it at maximum signal.
yes... unfortunately i guess this means i will remove this setup again. the LNBs are wired together here twisting one equals twisting the other.
i have to device another way it seems. the ready made 2-lnb wont help either. they suffer the same flaw

2. Search for the DSTV signal, when you get signal repeat what you did before, i.e. up/down, left/right and finally skewing to get the
maximum signal shouldn't be less than 80%.
Funny thing is, by the time i tried yesterday, i was unable to get Multi-Tv. tried for 20 minutes
crazy.
so i switched the cable to the upper one and nailed DSTV in 5 Minutes flat 60%. i gave up and tightened up. will manage that one like that till i get spare time again.

theoretically Multi-Tv Tp should be active now because all the times i ever tried to nail either with my joined LNB, once one pops up the other appears. not so yesterday..... it worked fine in the afternoon like that!!!

3. Search for W3C, and repeat the process again, fix and tie at the maximum signal.

NOTE: You shouldn't adjust the dish again after getting MultiTV, for DSTV and W3C you only adjust the LNB (i.e. UP/DOWN, LEFT/RIGHT, turning LNB CLOCKWISE/COUNTERCLOCKWISE(Skewing).
that W3c is just a numpty. not for once sef. got Daarsat on 17 once but again sgnal quality did not exceed 60%. Tried the moving and skewing to no avail.

Besides apparently the issue really is getting to attach the LNB. a purpose built holder would be nice but i dont know what measurements to use to fabricate one.

Hope this helps? cool cool cool
are you kidding.? you are like an FTA Angel. so much patience..... Thank you so very much for your time and effort.
learning can be difficult, but ultimately rewarding.

in all this i'm guessing what i really need is some first hand experience watching some one adept do it.

@ Microgiant and all.

this are the pictures of my present attempt to setup.

yesterday I loosened the dish to adjust the amos 5. I tracked it. got only daarsat channels. in the attempt work Around it for e16 I was unsuccessful. then I discovered I could not even get any sat again. even my dstv and multi tv were gone.

I tried for close to 2 hrs to no avail. so I decided to bring down the dish and look for a more comfortable place to hang it.

I decided to make the 3 lnb arrangement smarter and more presentable and did this In the picture.............. I hope the space between multi and dstv is not too much. it appears so to me.....

anyone who visits here pls tell me ur opinion before I hang it back. will do that by 1 pm to track again.

NB what could have caused the inability to get any sat again yesterday?. I checked and double checked all things. the cable, the lnb, the TP, ..all.....

thanks bro.

I will post pics tomorrow or Saturday. I get home late from work.

my dish is 90 cm. bought that on baba twins recommendation.

I fixed the lnb there but strangely its not giving a single %.

actually the thing is when I got the multitv/ dstv its so fickle that the slightest movement of the dish the signal will disappear....

I think I will bring down the dish because its wall mounted to look for somewhere more comfortable.

I'm guessing my error is that I am trying to track it without moving the dish. after getting dstv and multi tv i tightened up the azimuth. and tried moving the lnb for amos 5 manually a bit hoping to lockin.

maybe I should try tracking amos 5 alone with the whole dish to see the position first.......

Kingsleyinfo: I just put up a screenshot of my phones memory, do the maths and see if it adds up. Your sarcasm only makes you look uninformed. If someone brought a problem to you, the best you could do was find a solution. My solution would be to probably download clean master, and search for junk files that might be eating up phone memory. Second option will be to root the device and then uninstall some of the apps that came with the device. The techno phones are good for the price tag, infact they are too good for the price tag they carry. They might be budget devices, but they certainly do more than expected from phones from other brands. Your sarcasm doesnt change Nada.
if i was to insult you, id be coming down to your level. you are not worth it.

BTW its not for my sake that i asked the question from you emergency Chinese phone guru wannabes.

in bought my 1st droid device in 2009. till date i am yet to meet any device that exhibited this behavior and i have used quite a few devices.

what you refer to as sarcasm is your misguided, idiocy-clouded interpretation of a perfectly reasonable question. i even added a screenshot to show what i was saying just because of high minded dolts like you.

That you do not have a sense of humor is nobodies fault.

what ever inferiority complex you have is best kept within yourself. I do not recall mentioning a price with your parroting of "price" "cheap" bla bla bla.

NOBODY on God's green earth gives a flying fcuuk whatever device you use, or how much you bought it

from all indications your explanation about junk files is plausible, but patently ridiculous if true.

what is even more likely is that the Flash memory chip is actually faulty and has reduced space more like the fake china flash drives and memory cards we buy.

i will inform the fellow who asked for my help to try whatever "clean master" app. He is at liberty to root.
why he is required to do so when the device reports 1gb space with over 600 mb free is illogical.

Thank you for your time

Now a Bench with Wilshere, Walcott, Vermaelen, Podolski, Rosicky aint bad till january.

Walcott, WIlshere and Podolski can change tactics and games coming off the bench... they offer something different from those on the pitch.

i feel for teams who have to mark that AM trio. who you gonna pick up? Signing Ozil changed the dynamics of this team seriously.
when Cazorla was playing last season i was always amazed at his football. to now have 2 other guys swapping positions at will and equally able to do damage is astounding.

microgiant: I will use your picture to illustrate
With MultiTV(popular called JoyTV) @28.2E as your primary LNB,
Eutelsat 7 (DSTV) @ 36E will be on top just like you have fixed it (approximately 5cm above Astra 2F)
Then Amos5/W3C can be gotten below, attached to the LNB holder arm.

Note. Search for JoyTV first, then DSTV comes on top remember the LNB should slightly face to your right (while standing in front of the dish)
Lastly Amos5/W3C comes next to the right side of the LNB arm also facing towards your left.

There are no hard and fast rules. You have to search for the signal first and fix the LNB at the point you receive the signal.
my ogas. I remain loyal o.

so I have tried to practice your instructions.

the dstv and multitv took all of 10 minutes to nail. for a green noob that's not too bad eh? this thing no just dey easy at all... funny thing is I have not been able to go higher than 65% on both birds. ....... they work tho.

the kicker has been amos 5. no matter what I tried e no show up at all. not even 1 % signal...... any tips please? I tried attaching to the arm under multitv..... tried holding the lnb and moving round the dish grin grin.

pls any tips.

*** my dish elevation Is more inclined upwards than the nearby dstv dishes. could not get dstv/multitv signal to pop any lower. location is lagos

Strikers are struggling at Chelsea. you play 90 minutes of football and a striker would be lucky to get setup for a chance v the Goalkeeper.

really decent strikers get to chelsea and magically become ordinary just like that. which is expected or how are they supppsed to score when the chances don't come ?
