@Superman I hear say u be Sista as well as.They meant that u are a tranny or what? How can Nairaland users mess with Superman,a man who has movies made in his name. |
The dollar's fall will last as long as their are major current account deficits in the United States. However, the fall is not going to be anything like what we are used to in Nigeria .We are not going to see any drastic plunge in the dollars value and in the long term ,once the deficits are corrected ,the dollar will stabilise. Nigeria has to consider diversifying its currency reserves into Euros and the Japanese Yen. |
@Davidylan I am outraged by your comments and I really detest the fact that u failed to display any sense of maturity in your posts. You are much smarter than that. The difference btw Sista and Coco 29 is that the former is a raving lunatic while the latter is my beloved girlfriend. |
@Sango I suggested in my last post that it might be advisable before u put up a post on UN Security Council Resolutions, that u should do some basic research on it,apparently u have not. Article 10 of the UN Charter states specifically that General Assembly Resolutions are not binding .But hey, maybe u guys know better than the framers of the UN Charter As for Chapter 6 Resolutions, please check out under the "NOTES",a compendium of statements on the non-binding nature of such resolutions-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Security_Council_Resolution_478 Sango,do u still think that my posts on Cap 6 Resolutions go against what u called "well established facts",but then maybe u know better about International Law than the experts My irritation is towards the lack of humility on your part.It was quite clear from the moment I read ur post that u were not conversant with the the inner workings of the UN ,hence I advised u to research on the topic which obviously u failed to do. Resolutions passed on the Arab/Israel conflict have been mostly General Assembly and Cap 6 Resolutions except for Resolution 338 which stipulates that 242 shall be binding.I have already expressed my opinion on 242. The legality of the State of Isreal is already well established,Isreal being a member of the UN Yes Sango,in many senses the UN just passes Resolutions for "passing sake",it is odd but that is the way it operates. |
@Afam You cannot argue against basic legal principles. Nothing I said about the non-binding effects of Cap 6 Resolutions is my personal opinion ,this instead is enshrined in the UN Charter. You cannot cite a series of Resolutions that are intended to be non-binding as proof of Isreal's International law obligations |
Seun is damn right.Women are just not funny. Best comedian is Chris Rock |
@Sango shango:U obviously don't understand anything about UN Resolutions.I asked a simple question earlier-Whether anyone knows of UN Security Counil Resolutions Isreal is currently breaching.Ur response was to point to a Wikipedia link chronicling a series of Chapter 6 Resolutiions. Chapter 6 Resolutions are explicitly non-binding recommendations!.They do not create binding International law.Isreal is not in breach of International law since such Resolutions don't create obligations. Binding Resolutions are created under Chapter 7.These create binding International law and they include the various Resolutions Iraq was in breach of. Not much needs to be said about General Assembly Resolutions which also don't create International law Ur efforts are at least applaudable but it always helps before u post on a topic to know it extensively.Don't just Google info. The internet generates knowledge that is quantitatively rewarding but lacking in quality.Yours is a case in point and has no relevance to my suppositions. I do share your opinion that Africans have no business hyperventillating over conflicts in the Middle East and I raised it earlier under other threads to which I was met with a response of derision from the anti-America and anti -Isreal brigade refering to my prostestations as an unneccsary diversion from debates. Nevertheless we must unequivocally condemn racist agendas being pursued by bigots like Ahmedinajad. The roots of the ongoing conflict in the Middle Easdt rests on the inability of Arabs to reconcile themselves with the existence of a prosperous non-muslim and non Arab state in the Middle East. NB-Does someone know of any place with an Arab majority where they are living in peace with other minorities? |
@Donzman I take it from ur response that u urself don't know of any UN Security Council Resolutions Isreal is in breach of apart from the disputed 242.Btw u and Afam ,I am still expecting the names of those mysterious Security Council Resolutions Isreal is in breach of. Having failed to make a reasoned case setting out Isreal's breach of current international law,u decided to appeal to emotions. This is not about my religious beliefs.Am a Catholic and the Catholic Church has been resolutely pro-Palestine even actively campaigning against the recognition of Israel. U urself disclosed your anti-semitic prejudice by raising issues about Jews killing Jesus and Christians.Let God himself deal with the Jews as he sees fit. My views on the conflict were arrived at by reasoned analysis of the issues.I used to be pro-Palestine until 2000 , the 2nd intifada caused me to re-examine my stance.I noticed that anytime there was a peace process, violence escalated.I noticed that contrary to what I thought,Arabs were irreconcilled to the idea of a peaceful co-existence with Jews. This caused me to change my views and see isreal as engaged in a battle of survival against a people who wish its extinction. Its not about religion for don't forget, many Palestinians are Christians, remember Edward Said.Apparently for u it is |
@Donzman What is not supported by facts? That the Arab rejection of 2 UN Resolutions in the 40s precipitated the current conflict? Or that Isreal is not in breach of any Security Council Resolutions? What has Jews killing Jesus got to do with it?Does your interpretation of Christianity tell you that because Jews killed Jesus,we should adopt an anti-Isreal mentality. Don't mistake your opinions for facts. If you yourself know of any Security Council Resolution Isreal ,is breaching apart from the disputed 242 please enlighten us |
Shame in everybodies for spoken such bad English |
@Afam U gave the impression that Israel has been in breach of a number of UN Security Council Resolutions.I asked u for examples and all u could come up with was one,one Resolution does not justify giving the impression of a multiplicity of Resolutions. Afam let me spell it out clearly-U don't have anyother Security Council Resolutions to point to I sometimes admire your mendacity.U give the impression that something exists but that u can't be bothered to prove it .Samething with the point about who first resorted to personal insults. The sole UN Security Council Resolution which u refered to,which I actually mentioned a couple of weeks ago on the Isreal/Lebanon thread, does not impose unilteral obligations on Isreal. The Resolution is not for Isreal alone to implement but for all parties to implement as part of a comprehensive peace agreement. That is not even the full draft of the Resolution that u produced. Remember that we started this argument in the light of my claim that the Arabs's failure to implement thier International Law obligations deprived them of the moral highground.U retorted that Isreal has breached more UN resolutions than the Arabs.I refered to 2 such Resolutions that the Arabs breached, u refered to just one which does not even bind Isreal unilaterally. Instead of admitting u don't have any other UNSecurity Council Resolutions u can point to,u dishonestly suggest that there are more only u can't be bothered. |
@chyziani Wishful thinking! It is this kind of thinking makes politicians get away with a lot The best position to adopt is to wish death to Yar'adua. Nigerians should join me in wishing death to Yar'adua |
@Afam I will like u to pls inform nairalanders as to what it is I said to make u refer to me as "scum" and "criminal".All I saw was an earlier post where I noted that u don't let the facts get in the way of ur argument.Pls tell us what it was that made u refer to me as scum and criminal. I think u have deep personal issues u have to deal with and the sooner u realise that the better. U failed to point out the innumerable Security Council Resolutions which u say that Isreal is flouting. If Isreal is flouting many such Resolutions surely u can find more than one example. The one u gave-Resolution 242-does not impose a unilateral obligation on Isreal. It calls for compliance as part of comprehensive peace agreement with its neighbours. It demanded that both sides recognise each other's right to exist and renounce belligerent claims together with withdrawal from occupied territories. All this will be implemented concurrently as part of a comprehensive peace agreement and hence there is no obligation on Isreal to comply as a pre-requisite for the neighbours to recognise Isreal's right of existence and comply with other obligations. The only one Security Council Resolution u could cite as an example of Isreal's disregard for International law is not what u make it to be. Don't foget that even the Palestinians failed to recognise the legitimacy of Resolution 242 until the early 90s and even then the present Palestian Authoroty-HAMAS-does not recognise the resolution, instead calls for the destruction of Isreal. The fact remains that Isreal's Arab enemies failure to abide by earlier binding UN Resolutions has rebounded on them ,now they are have suddenly recognised the sanctity of UN Resolutions.Too late |
@Afam I find it hard to say this but I actually concur with a lot of what u have said. I think there has been an informal understanding since the end of the military era of the need for a rotational presidency.I don't however think Yar'adua is the best candidate the North has to offer. However Yar'adua is much better than the morally supine duo of Odili and Duke,a hopeless bunch of Obasanjo yes men who don't have the courage to pursue their political ambitions |
Sista is my worst nairaland user ![]() My best is 4 Play |
There is this butt I saw in east London. It was clear that it did not belong to the girl. U had a petit girl with middle aged woman's butt I wanted to take pics but I was afraid I might be arrested since it was a publi place |
My first contact with Afam's emotional issues arose when he refered to me as scum and criminal for refering to some polling data that contradicted his viewpoint |
State Universities no be school |
That is why I put "defending" in inverted commas.Hezbollah's defense of the Lebanese people precipitated the loss of a thousand lives.Had Hezbolah disarmed in line with the Security Council Resolution that calls for it to do so,they would have been no cause to attack. Mind you, most Lebanese people apart from Shias now think Hezbollah should disarm.they are not comfortable with Shia's monopoly of the means of violence |
@Afam When the Arab nations launched the war against Israel in 1948,their publicly stated goal was to wipe out Jews from the disputed territories. They weren't calling for cohabitation. Only UN Security Council Resolutions are legally binding and Isreal is not curently in breach of any Security Council Resolution . When Arabs thought they were in a position of power they chose to ignore binding International Law,when this backfired after they lost the wars they suddenly discovered the sancitity of UN Resolutions. Having failed to observe International law,now that the shoe is on the other foot they should not be suprised that Israel does not feel similarly compelled to observe UN General Assembly Resolutions which are not binding in International law |
@Afam Hezbollah is not defending Lebanon. It provokes Isreal into launching attacks on Lebanon and then claims to be defending Lebanon against such attacks.because of Hezbollah "defending" Lebanon,1000 Lebanese died in the recent conflict. Hezbolah remains a sectarian organisation whose founding document calls for the establishment of an Islamic State in Lebanon. It is not in the interests of Lebanon that one sect remains armed given the past sectarian conflicts in that country. |
Afam:Absolutely.I am against Abbas's calls for new elections. There is a major difference between a Govt that has been in power for close to a decade through electoral manipulation,as in the Georgian example u gave, and one that was elected in a free and fair elections as even its opponents accept. Afam:Sorry Afam ,all Sunnis and Christians did not come together. Those who came together are members of the opposition who are part of a pro-Syrian coalition. Most Sunnis and Christians do not support the Hezbollah led coalition Afam:It was u who first gave the impression that only the Govt was acting with foreign backing. My point is that both sides are all acting with backing of foreign nations. So Hezbolah led oppostion cannot lay claim to representing purely national interests any more than the Govt. Afam:Otherwise u will continue to maintain that armed militias that don't tolerate opposition should continue to be part of the democratic process. The fact that Israel perpetrates violence against Lebanon, which is what u probably mean by "state terrorism",does not mean that one participant in Lebanese politics should have when its rivals don't have armed militia. In a nation like Lebanon which has experienced sectarian violence,it is not safe that one sect, the Shias, should continue to insist that they retain weapons when te other sects have long disbanded their own militias |
Those moronic Arsenal fans have the balls to talk. They have gone from perenial title contenders to perenial 4th place contenders .Instead of concentrating on their sorry ass club, these shmucks are criticising a club hunting for the title Arsenal fans can keep lying to themselves that they are building a team for the future. When Man Utd was building a new team we never finished outside the top 3.In 95/96 season when we had a youthful side, we even did the double If not for poisoined lasagne,Arsenal would have finished in the UEFA Cup. Look out for Spurs, they are only 2 points behind u |
How can Nigerians have the audacity to insult Americans. They don't know what other people around the world think of Nigerians |
I only left the country in February so I think I have a good idea what is going on in Nigeria. There is nothing special about Duke. |

You are losing me here, you know the nations supporting the opponents of the Lebanese government but don't know the nations supporting it, that's strange unless you are being very far from truthful here. This statement should be seen in light of the quote before the last.
