I believe women are unfairly demonised for being attracted to men with money.The popular perception is that such attraction is shallow minded,but far from that it is only natural that women are attracted to men who they feel will offer them protection.
In pre-historic times,such protection was sought from the strongest man in the community.Today this is offered by the rich.It is not any less narrow-minded than a man who's attraction to a woman is determined by the size of her hips or her breasts.
It is legitimate and natural for a woman to be attracted to men with money and a genuine loving relationship can blossom from such an affair .To be cynical, one can say that such attraction is even more tolerable on the grounds that a  man is more likely to remain rich for his lifetime but a woman's physical assets are bound to deteriorate with age.
Obviously,if a woman remains in a relationship solely for money that will be wrong.But it won't be wrong if money is one of the key factors in her starting the relationship.It is simply the natural order of  things.

Obasanjo's non-invitation would still stand irrespective of Cheney's outburst against Russia.Don't forget Russia's position in the G8 has been the subject of dispute due to Putin's alleged authoritarian tendencies so Russia will be loath to invite a President who is accused of similar tendecies.
I think it will take more than a non-invitation to a talk shop to dissuade Obasanjo to desist from pursuing a 3rd term.But every little helps.

Yes he bought the whole lot.The same applies to the Glazers in Man Utd's case. That is part of the reason why Man Utd fans were angry,because it means ,as in Chelsea's case,that Utd are now a private company.
Interestingly Abramovich initially wanted to buy Man Utd,but he decided that the valuation (1.4billion dollars) was too high.So he instead bought Chelsea for around 150 million dollars,which meant he had spare cash to invest in the team.
The Glazers on the other hand,had to borrow money using Man Utd assets as collateral.But the flip side is that because of Man Utd's size, if the Glazers leave ,the club has enough assets to survive on it's own,Whereas,in Chelsea's case, there are no underlying assets to sustain the club if Abramovich leaves anytime soon.

The originator of this thread is evil.He wants to give Chelsea fans a heart attack.But this is what happens when the fortunes of a club is tied to the fortunes of one man. We have seen many times- b4 -e.g Cragnotti'sLazio,Gil's Athletico Madrid- that it is dangerous for a club to depend solely on the goodwill of a single benefactor.

Enyimba stands a better chance of defeating Barca than Arsenal.I can't wait for the 17th to read the excuses Arsenal fans will make.I read somewhere that Wenger is considering the possibility of appealing to UEFA to be allowed to field 15 players.

I wonder why he has not signed a new contract with Arsenal.Perhaps he realises that Arsenal has no future prospects.He does not want to be playing in the UEFA Cup next season.He is probably better of playing for Spurs or even Enyimba next season.
It is a sad end for a once great club.

The stock market is a zero-sum game. You cannot win 1 million naira unless someone else loses 1 million naira.

Actually it isn't because in a bull market a lot of capital flows into the market,some of it from abroad.If it was otherwise market capitalisation will never rise.A few years ago b4 the Obasanjo adminstration the market capitalisation was about 2 billion dollars,now it is about 15 billion dollars.
But it is interesting that the market has risen the most since our return to democracy in 1998,which brought about increasing investor confidence in the economy ,but recently it has stagnated a little bit.That is why I suggested earlier for caution from now till 2007,till the country's political fortunes are sorted out.The increasing uncertainty has caused a souring in investor confidence as many foreign investors and even Nigerian investors move thier money overseas.
Of course the flip side is that the higher the risk the greater the return,hence one can argue that now is the best time to invest so that one can be in the best position to reap profits once other investors start to return at the end of 2007.But that depends on how confident you are in the political process

The biggest scandal ocurring at the moment is the international community's silence towards the genocide in Darfur where 150,000 Africans have died in the hands of their Arab neighbours,but even their Bush has led by donating 86 percent of the food aid to Darfurians.Africans waste their breath supporting causes that  do not affect them, viz the situation in the Middle East,but this is not reciprocated by Arabs.
Bush has been most maligned over his Iraq and Afghanistan policy, but isn't it ironic that in both contries every single opinon poll show that the actual inhabitants of these countries welcome the removal of the tyrannical regimes that they had to live with.Do we all love Iraq and Afghanistan more than the people of those countries.I would bet that most critics have never met an Iraqi or an Afghan.   The problem with most analysis of US foreign policy is that most people are blinded by anti-US bias .No body raised alarm in the 90s , during the Shia uprising in Iraq ,when Saddam's thugs murdered 190,000 Shias .
The claims made by Bush about WMDs in Iraq was no different from the claim contained in Resolution 1441,which was endorsed unanimously by the 15 members including those who were against the war .Iraqi generals recently revealed that they only knew that Iraq had no WMDs on the eve of the war,when they asked for weapons fo defend against the invasion.Saddam apparently kept up  the illusion that he had weapons in other to deter attacks  so as to hold on to power.In any case nobody misses him.
People should think critically about the policys of the Adminstration and not swallow hook,line and sinker the mis-information spread by the media who have their own agenda.

The excitement gripping Arsenal fans on the appearance of their side in the final is understandable!It is natural for underacheivers to be ecstatic on the their first sight of glory.It has taken Arsenal half a century to get this far but even now some of their fans on this thread have developed cold feet and are suggesting that Man Utd take their place in the final.
