People have been migrating into Lagos before your arrival from hitherland.

1900 Lagos was built by British and Brazilians. They had planned to make it a permanent European settlement in Africa like Cape town...they didn't succeed because of the chaos in the inner Yoruba mainland...they lived in constant fear of an insurrection.
