desiredhome: When your Deuteronomy verse said give to Levites, and less privileged, don't you see that the Levites are the Priestly tribe of Israel who dont work or farm, but carry out strictly the work of God in the temple If there are conmen it is non of your business, give to those in his vineyard, if they misbehave, it is left for God to deal with his own, simply play your part and show appreciation for what God has done for you The sons of Eli were useless, but that was not a basis to deny the Temple God's directive In the end God took them out and planted Samuel Do your part and leave God to sanitize his House |

Oluromantic: Cc: Mavrick2012 tope777 toscolee rollandben honeyB2018 Malachi 3:8-10 is not talking to the Israelites, rather the Levites who are suppose to give God 10% of the total tithe they collected from the Israelites. Read from Malachi 2:1 to see that God was talking to the Levites not the Israelites. Numbers 18: 25-29 25 The Lord said to Moses, 26 “Speak to the Levites and say to them: ‘When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the Lord’s offering. 27 Your offering will be reckoned to you as grain from the threshing floor or juice from the winepress. 28 In this way you also will present an offering to the Lord from all the tithes you receive from the Israelites. From these tithes you must give the Lord’s portion to Aaron the priest. 29 You must present as the Lord’s portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you.’ . . What Numbers 18-25-29 is saying is simple, when the Levites (ushers, cleaners and others who belong to a service unit) receive the tithes from Israelites, they are to take out 10% of the tithe the Israelites brought and give it to the priest while they share the remaining 90% among themselves. That's to say, no Pastor or Priest is to collect 10% from the people, what belongs to them is just 10% of the total tithe, while the 90% goes to choir members, ushers, cleaners etc who work in the temple or church. Malachi 3:8-10 is reminding the Levites what they are to do as stated in the book of Numbers 18-25-29. There are conditions you MUST meet before you can be qualified to collect tithe. Note: These are not my conditions, they are Yahuah's (God of Israel) STRICT conditions. 1) You must be a descendant of Jacob’s son Levi. That's to say, your lineage must be pointing to Levi who is the son of Jacob. You must have the blood of Levi flowing through your veins. 2) You must not have inheritance. 3) You must not work, all your work must be in the temple. Numbers 18: 21-24 21 “I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting. 22 From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die. 23 It is the Levites who are to do the work at the tent of meeting and bear the responsibility for any offenses they commit against it. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites. 24 Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the Lord. That is why I said concerning them: ‘They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.’” . . If you must pay tithe even though you're not an Israelite under the law, you have to go look for any descendant of Jacob’s son Levi and pay otherwise, you're not giving it to the right person as God commanded. If you must do what Abraham did, be ready to return 90% to where you got it from. Yeah! Return the 90% of your salary to your employer. Abraham returned his own, so shall you. Genesis 14:21-23 21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.” 22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, 23 that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’ . . Never forget the book of 2 Corinthians 9:7 is the Christian standard of giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. . You are free to give 10%, 50% even 100% to the kingdom but, NEVER you call it tithe or first fruit because Christians have no business with the mosaic laws. If you decide to pay tithe or first fruit, you automatically exempt yourself from the finished work of Christ. The moment you pay tithe or first fruit, you removed yourself from grace and moved to the law which is now weak and useless (Hebrews 7:18-19), and a shadow of things to come (Colossians 2:17), the things are the coming, death and resurrection of Christ. I still remain the son of the TRUTH. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Mavrick2012: Forget about all the things they told you, they're all lies. This is what works now. This was Job and Cornelius' way of life or 'religion'. Acts 10:4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. . . Job 29:12-16 12 because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them. 13 The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow’s heart sing. 14 I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban. 15 I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. 16 I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger. James 1:27 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Mathew 25:35-36 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Romans 12:10-13 10 Love each other with genuine affection,[e] and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.[f] 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. 13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. John 21:17 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Yeshua asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Yeshua said, “Feed my sheep. Mark 12:30-31 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[f] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[g] There is no commandment greater than these.” Cc: tope777 toscolee rollandben 1 Like 1 Share |

petra1: Tithe is not given to God directly...it is given to widows, orphans, levites, fatherless, etc Now according to number 18 vs 26, the levites takes 1/10 of the tithe he receives and brings it into the house of God, thus fulfilling malachi 3 vs 10. Malachi 3 vs 10 is a warning to priests n pastors who do not pay the "Full" tithe |

Sotland: People are experts at justifying themselves be it good or bad provided it's for their own interest. They will quote Mathew 5 vs 17 for you, but they won't tell you to read from 17 - 20. All for selfish purposes. You must understand that there's no perfect being, the only perfect being I know is Jesus. Your Pastor just like every other person is prone to make mistakes. Why did Jesus said He haven't come to abolish the law? Now, Jesus wasn't preaching to them like others and they were surprised, so they were thinking He has come to abolish their laws and traditions. They thought He brought something new entirely different from the scripture (old testament) which they already knew, then Jesus said to them in the book of Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Jesus also told them this. Mathew 5 vs 20 "20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." It's obvious, Jesus made them understand that obeying the law cannot take them to heaven in verse 20 ☺. Jesus broke the law in the book of Mark 2:24 and they were all calling for his head. It was because of the laws He broke and his teachings that made them choose a thief over Jesus. Do not allow anyone impose the laws in old testament on you. Read what Paul said. Romans 6:14 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. Now, see why old testament laws shouldn't be practice by Christians. Read Galatians 3 vs 15 - 29 Be a true Christian not a Christian who practice Judaism. * The death and resurrection of Christ is the fulfillment of the law. The old covenant chapter has been closed and new covenant established. I was making research and I stumbled upon this great page which explained Mathew 5:17-20 bit by bit. Visit https://bible.org/seriespage/14-not-abolish-fulfill-matthew-517-20 for more understanding on this subject. Christianity in Africa has been mixed with so many things which shouldn't be found at all in Christendom. Do not allow anyone teach you their selfish doctrine even though they use old testament (laws) to justify their doctrines. If it's not the doctrine of Jesus Christ in the new testament, I say to you, RUN and NEVER look back. Happy Sunday |

toscolee:There at different ways of tithing... Let the believers tithe as lead... If they decide to behave like Abraham that gave his to Melchizedek let them do it... If they decide to bring it during church service during time for tithing, let them do it. If they decide to tithe to motherless babies home or those in need, let them do it... They are all scriptural... So dont focus on Malachi alone... Some don't even tithe and it doesn't mean they are not Christians... |

MasterJayJay: Any Christian, who has issue with tithing, has not truly known the Lord. Any so called Christian, who. Sees tithing as an old testament tradition, has not fully known the word of God. Tithing is not of the law. It was before the law, and the Law cannot abrogate, what it never created. This is one valid point, opponents of tithing, like the writer above me and his likes, have refused to acknowledge. As for the man asking if he can pay his tithe in line with Deut. 26.12, my answer to you, is that you are not yet ready to pay your tithe. You just want to raise a controversy, to generate traffic to topic. When you are ready to pay your tithe, you should know what to do. As tithe was an obligation then, so it is now. The principles, behind setting up of the priesthood then, is still the same today, though there may be a change of who becomes a Levite. |

THE TITHE FOR FEAST (Deut. 14:22-27). Deuteronomy 14:22-23 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always. TITHE FOR THE POOR Deuteronomy 14:28-29 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.. |
