livingchrist: Your ego will not let you see the truth. I hate repeating myself. I said the law cannot justify us before God becos we are all guilty before him. It took the blood of Jesus for us to be credited righteous before God. All our past sins and debt we owe to the law of God is blotted us by the reason of Christ's death. But from the moment we accept that gift, we are subjected to the commandments of God, we are expected to obey Gods commandments as a demonstration of our love for God. |

MaxInDHouse: All this one you are speaking is grammar. God is clear those who keep his commandments are those who love him and will inherit eternal life. No where did God write principles or guide. Just as God was explicit and clear with Adam and Eve about eating the forbiddens fruit so also God is clear with humanity with regards to what he calls sin. For your information no where did Jesus say the law has passed away or it's time has passed. Rather he said Heaven and Earth will pass away but one dot or T will never pass away from the law. Its Obvious Hean and Earth has not passed away so the law still holds. How you overlook clear Bible verse like this inorder to teach your false doctrine is beyond my imagination. |

blueAgent:You are actually contradicting yourself, but you dont yet realise it. At bolded summaries your confusion. You claim one cant be saved by only keeping the law but at the same breath contradicted it. You think I m actually going against the by no means, but instead I establish it. Through the law of Christ the true intention of the law is fulfilled You dont understand, through the law of faith we fulfill the 10 commandments, which in itself is just basic. There are about atleast 450 laws including the 10commandment, the only law that fulfills them all is the law of faith. |

blueAgent:The law of the spirit is not the commandment. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The law (including the 10 commandments) came through moses but grace and truth came through Jesus. Hint the grace and truth is the law of the spirit and it is different from the commandments. |

blueAgent: You're reading Genesis in isolation, study books like Romans or words of Jesus to understand what happened in Genesis. Sin was in the world before the law but sin wasn't imputed because there's no law to charge the sin with. So you can sin without breaking a law.....whatsoever is not of faith is sin too...leave the mosaic law alone sir, it wasn't written to you. |

Re: The Law Of God And Righteousness, Do We Still Need The 10 Commandments? by blueAgent(m): 8:28pm On May 15, 2021 |
livingchrist: You are wrong. 1* the 10commandments are not the mosaic law. They are 2 different laws one written by God himself the other written by Moses. The 10commandments were placed inside the Ark of Convent showing their eternal nature. While the Mosiac law was placed outside the Ark. What Christ death fufilled was the sacrificial laws becos they were temporary and could not cleanse sin permanently. Hebrews 9:13-10 The love of christ which you claim is the 10commandments, Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Ironically you wrote faith and holiness. The fact or truth is that one who has faith and love for God will obey God's commandments as a prove of their love for God. In so doing the person becomes righteous John 14:15-21 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. |

livingchrist: Here is the difference between God's law and the Mosiac laws. 1. One is called the law of God and the other the law of Moses. Ten - Isaiah 5:24 KJV Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Moses - Luke 2:22 KJV And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 2. One is written on a book & the other on stone. Ten-Exodus 31:18 KJV And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. Moses -2 Chronicles 35:12 KJV And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the Lord, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen. 3. One placed inside the ark and the outside the ark of the covenant. Moses-Deuteronomy 31:26 KJV Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Ten -Exodus 40:20 NIV He took the tablets of the covenant law and placed them in the ark, attached the poles to the ark and put the atonement cover over it. 4. Ended on the cross and the other will last forever. Moses -Romans 10:4 GNT For Christ has brought the Law to an end, so that everyone who believes is put right with God. Ten - Luke 16:17 GNT But it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest detail of the Law to be done away with. Psalm 119:151-152 GNT But you are near to me, Lord, and all your commands are permanent. Long ago I learned about your instructions; you made them to last forever. Secondly the Law of Christ which is love is the 10 commandments. Christ himself equated one loving God and his neighbour to the 10 commandments. Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. |

livingchrist: What Christ death fufilled or replaced was the sacrificial laws and system and not the 10 commandments becos they were imperfect. Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |

Goshen360: Really? Genesis 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. Was it Nigerian law God was referring to here that Abraham obeyed? Becos the law on mount Sinai happened more than 400years after Abraham had died. Secondly, if Sin was not imputed , then why did God destroy Noah's generation and Sodom and Gomorrah? Since you claim they did not know the law. Sin is transgression of the law |

livingchrist: No one has everlasting life, the only way to have everlasting life is to accept Jesus and to obey the Commandments of God. You must do the 2 to be saved not one. Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. The law of Christ is not different from the 10commandments neither is it greater. They are one and the same. Christ never came to give a new law or different rules. Remember he came to do the will of his father and to establish his father's government on Earth. |

livingchrist: Spiritual rebirth is not literal like one be reborn by God. We are the sons of God the same way Adam and Eve ,Angel's are. The bible emphasizes the fact that only those who keep the faith to the end will inherit eternal life. This is because accepting christ does not mean one has secured Heaven neither does it Entrust automatical capabilities above sin. To secure Heaven one has to fight according to Paul the good fight till the end. Rewards are given at the end, not at the beginning or middle. Note this verses. Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. 1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: |

livingchrist: Like I said before the word law in the bible does not necessarily mean the 10commandments. You must understand the context in which the word law is used for you to know which law is been referred to. The law of the spirit is still the 10commandments written in our hearts and obeyed by us through the empowerment of the Holyspirit. |
Re: The Law Of God And Righteousness, Do We Still Need The 10 Commandments? by blueAgent(m): 9:04pm On May 15, 2021 |
livingchrist: Here is an explanation for that verse on the law of the spirit. What is “the law of the Spirit of life” spoken about by Paul in Romans 8:2? Romans 8:1-4 builds on what Paul discussed in the previous chapters, particularly the connection between the law, sin, and death. Romans 8:1-4 seems specifically to develop Romans 7:6, where the two ideas present in our passage are found: freedom from the law, sin, and death, and a new life in Christ (cf. Rom. 6:1-14). Organization of Romans 8:1-4 Paul begins the discussion with a summary statement (verse 1) that is developed in the following verses. The primary emphasis will be on the lives of believers. Paul combines liberation through the “law of the Spirit of life” with the death of Jesus (verse 2). He literally says: “The law of the Spirit of life [the source of a new life] in/through Christ Jesus liberated you [singular; i.e. “the believer”] from the law of sin and of death.” What Christ did changes the lives of believers. This was necessary, for there was something the law could not do, but that was accomplished through Christ (verse 3). Paul explains both of these concepts to clarify the meaning of “the law of the Spirit of life liberated me from the law of sin and death.” The Statement “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” (verse 1). The “now” indicates that the new has arrived, resolving the problem of the condemnation of the law associated by Paul with the trespass of Adam (Rom. 5:12, 17). Adam’s fall constituted humanity into an indistinguishable mass of sinners destined to death; but Christ came with liberating power. Those who are in Christ are free from the condemnation of death into new life. Paul explains how this happens. The Law of the Spirit In verse 2 Paul explains verse 1: “Because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life . . . [set me free] from the law of sin and death” (NIV). These two laws happen to be the same law viewed from two different perspectives: The law under the flesh leads to death, while the same law, under the power of the Spirit, leads to a new life. Christ delivers us from the cosmic powers of sin and death (justification), and the Spirit delivers us from the enslaving power of sin in our daily lives (sanctification). According to Paul, the law of God has been misused by sin, resulting in condemnation and death (Rom. 7:7-12). Humans misused it by seeking God’s acceptance through the works of the law, that is, “the law of sin and death.” The “law of the Spirit of life” is the same law connected to the Spirit, not to the flesh. There is a proper place for God’s law in the Christian life. Law, Christ, and the Spirit The problem, says Paul, was not the law itself but the weakness of the “flesh” (Rom. 8:3). Confronted with sin and death, the law was powerless because the flesh is hostile to God and cannot “submit to God’s law” (verse 7, NIV). The solution is the sacrificial death of the Son of God, who condemned sin in the flesh, liberating us from the condemnation of the law (verse 3), and enabling us to live in obedience to God’s will through the Spirit. Now the law is restored to its proper place and called “the law of the Spirit of life.” Christ died for us “in order that the righteous requirement of the law [the law of the Spirit of life] might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the [sinful nature] [seeking acceptance from God through the works of the law] but according to the Spirit” (verse 4, NIV). The weakness of the flesh is overcome, and the Spirit enables us to obey the righteous requirements of God’s law. https://www.adventistworld.org/the-law-of-the-spirit-of-life/ |

Re: The Law Of God And Righteousness, Do We Still Need The 10 Commandments? by blueAgent(m): 9:21pm On May 15, 2021 |
livingchrist: You are the one contradicting yourself. I said keeping the law alone cannot save one, becos we have all sinned and are guilty before God hence we are eligible for death penalty which is the wages of sin. But when Christ came and died for us, he settled that debt which we owe the law. Which makes us not guilty before the law of God. But now we are saved from the penalty of the law which is death through christ . We need to wholeheartedly obey the commandments of God as a show of our love for God and to earn eternal life. The summary is that both need to occur for us to be saved. 1. Christ had to die to pay our debt. 2 .we need to accept Christ sacrifice by faith and to obey the commandments inorder to gain eternal life. If you accept Christ without obeying God's commandments you are like someone with faith without works. Secondly if you keep all the commandments and Christ did not die for you, you will still not make Heaven becos the debt has still not been paid. If you don't understand this simple explanation than check yourself. |

Post navigation← HopeSS: Christ and the Law of MosesAsk the Author: Christ and Religious Tradition → Jesus Did Not Abolish the Law By Fulfilling It. Posted on April 16, 2014 by William Earnhardtavatar “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-19 NKJV Jesus Tempted Image © Pacific Press from GoodSalt.com Jesus Temptes Image © Pacific Press from GoodSalt.com Occasionally, while giving Bible studies, I will hear someone say, “Once Jesus fulfilled the commandments He did away with them. He fulfilled them so we don’t have to.” Well, let’s take a look at that. Does fulfill mean to do away with? My Websters Dictionary tells me that fulfill means to “carry out.” I don’t think carrying something out and abolishing it can be the same definition. My Roget’s Thesaurus tells me fulfill is the same as “pleasing or sufficing.” I don’t think that to “please or suffice” means “to abolish.” Now that we have looked at Roget and Webster’s definition of the word fulfill, let’s see how the Scriptures use that word. How did Matthew himself use that word? Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. Matthew 3:13-14 NKJV So Jesus fulfilled the rite of baptism. Did He abolish it after He fulfilled it? No, of course not. Matthew, the same writer who tells us Jesus fulfilled the rite of baptism also records Jesus’ command, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit… Matthew 28:19 NKJV So Jesus did not abolish baptism when He fulfilled that rite, but rather set an example for us to follow. Likewise, Jesus did not abolish the law by fulfilling it, but rather gave us an example to follow. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4 NKJV The good news according to Romans 8:3-4 is that when the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts, He not only fulfills the law for us but also fulfills it in us. It is not us doing the work, but the Holy Spirit who is working in us, fulfilling and writing the law of love on our hearts. The rite of baptism “fulfills all righteousness” as I die to self and rise again, born of the Holy Spirit who now fulfills the law of love in me. Amen! |

You and Detruthspeak, are confused together, Paul said if there was a law that could give life, then righteousness could have being by the law. Mind you including the ten commandment, which means the ten commandment could not give life hence christ has to come, therefore the ten commandment is not the law of life because the ten commandment cannot give life. Galatians 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. |
