Gbedulord:seek specialist help immediately, infectious (bacterial,fungal or parasitic)agents, malignancy (cancer)and less likely endocrine(diabetes tho the ulcer will most likely be foot ulcer not foream)causes must be rule out....if it's malignancy still not too bad especially if it's basal cell carcinoma but melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma are usually bad news......I pray it's jes an infectious/traumatic ulcer sha,get well real soon 1 Like |

Sorry about your plight. It looks like some form of tropical ulcer. Do not listen to anyone saying you should try traditional medicine. You should look for and see a competent dermatologist, preferably in a teaching hospital. See a specialist urgently. If it spreads deeper to affect the bones in your forearm, you'll be in real trouble. Good luck. |

The dark pigment indicates necrosis( death of skin tissue around the area). So many factors hindering wound healing. Nutrition i.e ( low albumin). Underlying factors( diabetes?). A culture should be collected to identify the specific microorganism. So the correct antibiotic therapy can be initiated that is specific to that microorganism. Or perhaps the Physician can start you on a broadspectrum antibiotics for prophylaxis. While in the process of identifying the specific organism. Please act fast. Plan of action Identify microorganism via blood culture. Skin swab. Course of oral/intravenous antibiotics as prescribed. Act fast so infection doesn't spread further to underlying tissue. You need to do a microbiology test. That will help both you and the doctors to be sure of what you're dealing with. And I'll suggest you change the hospital you go to, because it's obvious they don't know anything. Any normal Doctor should know the first thing to be done is a test, instead of giving you one nonsense drug |

Go see a dermatologist. Don't waste your time and resources on herbs that will damage your kidneys and liver. Once the doctors call off the ongoing strike, attempt to visit a tertiary hospital for holistic care by experts. Its a serious thing dont underrate it. Try and see a Dermatologist (skin doctor). If you live close to Ogun state, I would advice you go to Babcock University Teaching hospital. I went there with someone that had a chronic skin disease after exploring a lot of hospitals in Lagos without answers. They were able to diagnose and treat it at Babcock. I think their Dermatologist is available on Fridays only. |

Gbedulord:I showed someone in the medical field, she said it looks like a growth which require burning using silver nitrate during dressing. continuous burning with silver nitrate each time the wound is being dressed will eventually burn off the infected skin and then it will heal. But she said the best approach is to go to the hospital and insist on seeing a doctor, if possible a dermatologist who would recommend a wound swab test to determine the kind of microorganism or bacteria or fungai growing there to enable the doctor prescribe appropriate drugs or medication to use. |

Gbedulord:Go run a blood test. My guy had something like this for months. He was busy taking agbo and different antibiotics but none worked. First day he went for a test, the result showed HIV(error). He was down and crying. He demanded for another test, same result. The doctor use another machine which he said if this one says the same thing, it is final. That one came out negative. Did another one after 3 months, negative.
