one of the reasons Africa is so backwards, believe it or not, is because we are blessed with conducive weather and natural resources. So we never had to think outside the box or hustle to survive like the whites did.

Im trying so hard to avoid tribal comment but honestly, there is no how I ll say the truth without going tribal.

Igbo people especially the youths and SM savy caused this, we all should use the social media for our advantage by constantly calling our government into order but instead, unfortunately our dear people from East are mostly concerned with Tinubu and everything in SW.

Shit Is happening in that region SE only if these people shouting Tinubu can use that energy on their useless governors.

oluwaseyi000:

Why we were fired?
I joined this company last year, few days after finishing my NYSC, they have the highest number of software developers in Africa and I was loving life, the salary is great with breakfast and lunch

They keep on employing so many software engineer with time the engineer become more than the available job, I saw it coming but I don't know what the board was thinking

2. How did the firing process happen?
We have a global (online) meeting which people are asked not to miss, I was not even listening very well to what they are saying, the president said there are more developer than engagement to they have to let some people go, a mail was sent to all impacted people and I discovered what has just happened

Almost 400 people has been fired across Africa

3. Aftermath of being fired… how did you feel, have you recovered, did you get something better?

The company is actually a great one, they brought in pychologist to speak with us, bring in different recruiter, and other stuff, most importantly the payoff was reasonable that I can afford a Mac laptop of almost half-a-million

Luckily for me I got another reasonable job in less than 3 weeks of been retrenched

I always laugh when people complain there is no job in Nigeria, less than 5 month after leaving my previous company I have turned down almost 4 other offers some even paying than my current one

I so much saw the retrenchment coming that I once created a similar thread as this https://www.nairaland.com/5352267/why-how-loose-last-job
Not that there is no job but experience matters bro.

Soft working niggers making hard working niggers like us look lazy and directionless

grin

Efcc how far with the real scammers and kleptocrats in government, afterall they are the one these soft-workers look up to and whose acts of looting they justify theirs on, and whose insatiable greed for material acquisition they are motivated by, arguing they do it to bring the money in, while the politicos take the money out. Like gimme a break, what a messed up nation of sub-humans.

What do you consider to be the solution? Violent revolution or referendum towards Deamalgamation or continuation under restructuring? Regionalism (true federalism) or centralized power (oligarchy)
Looking at these idiots ways of life can actually fraustrating but am sure if you hustle legitimately, you will enjoy your hustle at the long run.

Just imagine those that would have been intimidated by these thiefs with their shot time flamboyant life style now.

Ohaneze are not all knowing. If they wanted Ogbunigwe, then they are wrong. We have state sponsored vigilantes in most SE states. Let the states finance and equip them more to serve as intelligence gathering unit with modern electronic gadgets.

Though SE governors position on this is not borne out of altruistic persuasion towards Igboland on their own part. But rationally speaking, it's the best stance to take.
Let other regions take the heat for now, let's catch our breath and watch from sidelines, our goal differs from those of SW and SS, so we must have a different approach to issues from them.
For you people to always think una wiser than others is why you are here today.

SW unity on amotekun, una wail, criticize, insult, troll , SS too has come together o, what will you people do now ? Insult them as usual abi...una go dey alright Las las undecided

For me travelling out had an unusual impact , it has created a burning desire in me for Nigeria to be fixed.

The novelty of living abroad has worn off and I'm not so impressed like one of these new comers, my desire is to see a developed Nigeria.
.

I see oyinbos and think if they can do it so can we .... Why ? to bring back glory to the black race and be respected as a group.
Respect!

...and we shall all realize that dream collectively. No matter how long , we all shall come back home "ajoo oledun ,konile marele" .

Am happy to have seen this comment, seems we still have some youths with burning desires to see a better Nigeria not like some white slave going as bad as referring to their fatherland as ape-world , we all can't continue to live in self denial, we have everything available to better this country, our problem is bad leadership and with your like minds , I believe Nigeria shall get there.

I doubt you have left Nigeria to Europe, America, Australia, Asia or even ordinary Dubai/Qatar because if you have, you won't be spilling this crap!

Personal comfort or individual comfort can never be compared to national or communal comfort and progress!

That you can afford one stupid generator or you can afford to live in one estate where you have estate generator and maybe enjoy a bit serenity can never be compared to national orderliness, comfort and progress that you can feel almost everywhere you go, and everyone (rich or poor) is enjoying the same comfort and life amenities without sweating or killing or stealing or looting!!

Nigeria and West Africa are doomed!!!

Travel and see. Nigeria is the hell fire being talked about in the holy books if you don't know, wake up!!! angry angry
I don't think the bold is actually necessary, he passed his opinion and you can also do same without insult.
