Look calculate whatever you like , I’m not buying it end of story . You can keep deceiving yourself . Until I see a paystub I’m not believing it. You claim to live abroad , you should know that here we go based off facts not dubious claims . Before you know it, someone will come on Nairaland and say that a Walmart cashier is making millions .
Didn’t you see the paystub OP posted above OR Do you just wanna argue endlessly?

Your a big fool , even your own calculation no reach six figures , Abeg spare me . It’s only Nairaland that Nigerians come on here and make stupid claims. That’s why Nigerians have a bad reputation , too much dubious behavior.
You’re not the only single person abroad on Nairaland.

And there’s nothing dubious about OP claims...

Salforld1 & I have both worked as a security guard in Canada & the United States respectively...

His earnings are consistent with Security Guards who’re willing to take up additional overtime shift...

You’re the bigger fool...

The OP posted a paycheck that shows that sometimes he works 32 hours of overtime, Sometimes he works 40 hours of overtime & other times he works 54 hours of overtime...

For Example, His Paycheck shows his weekly earnings and if you're to multiply the first paycheck which is $1398.13 Net Pay by 52 weeks we obtain=$72,702.76 Net Earnings for the year

Secondly, if you're to multiply the second paycheck which is $2222.45 Net Pay by 52 weeks we obtain=$115,567.4 Net Earnings for the year

So if we assume that OP Net earnings for the year were either $72,702.76 OR $115,567.4 then OP earned six figures last year before Federal Tax Deductions...

You’re either ignorant OR lack basic Math Skills...

The OP's company is even cheap i.e. paying a time and half for OT. Some security firms contracted to oil companies were paying their guards $26 to $28 an hour when fort mc in Alberta was booming, and they got double for OT. I think the airports pays $21 per hour for their gardaworld screening officers. Not sure what those ones get for OT.

I worked security for a year or so too. It is really one of the chill survival jobs. It was an hospital security jobs. Night shifts were the best.

Apart from my regular shift which is fixed. 3 days on and 3 days off of 12hrs shift per day, I do not have strenght like the OP and would only often pick up 1 or 2 OT shifts per month outside the city. My employer was cheap too. I get paid 1.5 for those too like the OP's company, but I also get mileage which is like 0.8c per km if i drive my own car. I even make more from the mileage sometimes than the money from the shift depending on how far i drove. I had a female filipino colleague that was working two jobs. She worked security on her days on and worked as a carer on her days off. She was a machine.

Like i earlier mentioned, not sure if the OP was able to sustain those hours before they were cut. I think i mentioned he made over 100k in a year which could mean it was sustained for that particular year. Who knows. He did not show us his T4. I however like his drive. He is very determined. I actually learnt from his thread that it was easy to save if you earn a good wage and put your heart to it. This was after i read naijaman's comment on page 14 . I have saved alot from when OP created this thread.
I worked security too during my time in College. Before that I worked in a Grocery Store...

I can authoritatively tell you that being a Security Guard is by far the easiest job you could do...

I mostly worked during Night shift to protect material used for the construction of a luxury residential building...

Even my Boss normally begs me to come in during the weekend & pick up extra hours because most Americans love their weekends & don’t wanna work during Saturdays & Sundays...

Such days I would work 16 hours on Saturday & 16 hours on Sunday and I was able to make double of what I made during the course of the week.

Only thing I had to do was monitor the camera & conduct foot patrol every hour to make sure no unauthorized personnel was inside the premises...

I even brought my laptop with me to work & would normally do my assignments & homework while working & my boss never complained because I did my job...

Whenever I felt sleepy, I would watch Hulu, Netflix & IROKOtv just to keep me awake...

I was able to save over $10,000 just by working lots of overtime in a Single Job...

That’s the reason I laugh really hard when people say that most Americans can’t come up with $400 or more during an emergency...

Most Americans have way more than $1,000 in their bank account but they act as if they don’t because they don’t want relatives from Nigeria dumping all their problem on their head...

Once you send them money once, they automatically assume you’re now obligated to send them something every month forgetting you also have your own responsibility as well.

$16 x40 is only $640 gross weekly . Please this is simple math here, only a fool would fall for this . Even with overtime, it still don’t make sense at all.
No, it’s not...

He works 80 hours a week...

40 hours of regular time & 40 hours of overtime hours

$16.00 x 40.00 + $24.00 x 40.00 = $1,600 Gross Weekly

Only a fool is unable to perform basic addition & multiplication.

That’s a poor way of calculating salary, unless in a salaried position , you don’t calculate yearly salary like that. As an hourly worker, your working hours will significantly vary. Please , I’m not stupid , I til I see the paystub I’m not believing that some earning $16 per hour is earning six figures.
This is not entirely true...

That might be true for Warehouse workers & Grocery store workers like Walmart, Target & Costco...

But Security workers operate differently...

I did security before moving on to my current job & it was always 40 hours every week Monday - Friday...

They always called me almost every weekend to cover someone else shift because most people always called out during the weekend...

I have seen people work two security jobs in one from Monday - Friday for 40 hours & another security job from Saturday - Sunday for 32 hours including 16 hours each day...

Infact only security including prison Guards & Patrol Officers are handed hours like Candy...

Back then it was common knowledge that if you wanted a job that was easy & gives the most hours then Security Officer is the best because all you do is sit down & monitor the Cameras & immediate surroundings...

At a point I was able to save up over $10,000 within a year just by working a single security job...

The bottom line is as long as you’re willing to work hard most managers will recognize your work ethic & offer you more hours...

At a point I was working so much that I never had time for myself but I had to cut back my hours to enable me spend more time on the weekend with my Girlfriend.

The bottom line is that I believe OP on face value except someone else comes forward & refutes his case...

Are you being Sarcastic OR Didn’t you see where he say he was working 80 hours every week before his works was cut because the Managers weren’t happy that he was making too much money?

Before his hours was cut he was working for 40 hours of regular work & 40 hours of overtime work every week which enables him to make such amount of money...

I believe you’re one of the doubting thomas & nothing OP does will even change your mind even if he was to post his Tax Return for the year...

People like you already have a preconceived conclusion while ignoring the underlying facts & evidence posted so far...

So it would be a continued waste of my time to go back & forth with you...

Adios!!!

Story is still very fish , based on his pay stubs , I still don’t see how his pay equaled to six figures.
Are you sure?

Based on his paycheck alone, you can figure out that he indeed made six figures last year

For Example, His Paycheck shows his weekly earnings and if you're to multiply the first paycheck which is $1398.13 Net Pay by 52 weeks we obtain=$72,702.76 Net Earnings for the year

Under this scenario we assume that his average weekly earnings are $1398.13 & there are 52 weeks in a year

Secondly, if you're to multiply the second paycheck which is $2222.45 Net Pay by 52 weeks we obtain=$115,567.4 Net Earnings for the year

And Lastly just by looking at his Federal Tax Deductions which was $15,457.78, it's safe to assume that he made a lot of money.

For the Canadian Government just to deduct $15,457.78 in taxes only from your yearly earnings shows that you indeed made a substantial amount of money during the year.

I don't make Six Figures yet & I have looked over my paychecks & the government never deducted more than $5000 from my paycheck during the course of last year and I also got back most of the deductions when I filed my taxes early this year.

The bottom line is this: I don't know whether OP is telling the truth or not but if I was to evaluate him based on the Paychecks he posted then you can definitely make the case that OP made Six Figures last year anywhere between $72,702.76 - $115,567.4

Most people don't earn such substantial amount of money in a given year & as such OP earnings puts him in the top 10% - top 20% earners in Canada.

Do you really expect a western girl to uproot herself & leave her school, job & family and move to a completely different city just because of love? Lol

Based on my experience most western girls wouldn’t especially since you’re only a Boyfriend...

Actually most times the inverse is the case...

The expect you to uproot yourself & move to a completely different city especially if they get a job promotion & often times than not they usually have their way...

I can basically count how many of my guys have relocated to a different city just because of their relationships but most girls aren’t willing to take such risks...

The bottom line is sometimes things like these are just super complicated...

I will definitely avoid trading during the announment to avoid giving back what I have already made today...
