Hi everyone. I am currently in the UK and want to certify some documents. The private notaries I have contacted want to charge me an arm and a leg. I will like to know whether anyone have successfully certified their documents at the post office or their bank. I will like to know if I can get it done anywhere without fees. I have contacted my local court where it's free but the latest date of appointment given is June but I want to get it done by Tuesday.
Here in the United States, Banks notarize your Documents for free as long as you have a Bank Account with them...

So you might wanna ask your Bank if they offer notary services...

Alternatively you can visit the Court House, I usually pay $5/page...
TravelRe: Why Do Nigerians Study So Many Irrelevant Courses Abroad by 7Alexandre: 10:47am On May 11, 2019
thebosstrevor:
many courses are useless abroad..you wont even be able to find jobs with them....you go to school to get a certificate so that you can have a better life..better life means better pay and that is what your certificate does... there is nothing like it is not about money when finding a job or it is about finding job and pleasure in a job, you do those job because of money and survival and not because of job and pleasure. job and pleasure do not pay bills and give you social mobility.

studying a technical courses like medicine and STEM is the easiest road to social mobility because it comes with higher pay and it is a job that is high on demand.
Do you realize how difficult & competitive Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering & Computer Science are abroad?

Not everyone can handle the rigorous academic workload...

If you fail a course once, you receive an academic warning...

If you fail a course twice, you receive an academic probation/suspension...

If you fail a course thrice, you receive an academic explusion...

So you basically have three trials before you flung out of college & whatever money you’ve already invested is a waste...

Most students are not willing to take such chances...

They’re better off studying courses in which they’re more inclined to perform better rather than studying a course they’ve no passion for...

So like how much do you pay every month for your Apartment in Marietta, Georgia?

My brother, there will be no one chance.
Even with 50% default rate, I would still be breaking even.
Imagine getting £10,000 loan in the UK at 3% and then ‘laundering’ same to Nigeria, changing to Naira and giving out loans. It’s mad money.

Even though our friend and brother was pissed, the truth is:
Getting £ loans or £ Credit Card cash and zapping it to Nigeria sounds very much like ‘reverse laundering’

Please if anyone sees a bank that gives Loan at 6% (not even 3%), I am interested.
In my own case, I will not want to send to Naija, I would invest here.
I remember being in a financial distress & I had no other option but to zap about $5,000 from my Credit Card...

My Credit Card was closed the following day...

Credit Cards are heavily monitored just like Bank Accounts & Banks consider such behavior very risky...

I’m still paying back the $5,000 on a monthly payment plan...

By the time I finished paying, I would have paid back around $8,000 which includes accrued interest...

The interest on my credit card was almost 23% per annum for purchases & 27% per annum for Cash Advances...

Fyi, the credit card was from Bank of America...

But I also heard both Amex & Discover are also quick to close your credit card for suspicious transactions & unusual behaviors...

I dont remember paying taxes on food in stores at ohio but in Chicago, u even pay for plastic bags to pack your groceries
Same thing in New York City especially the Monthly Rent

Everything is expensive which explains the reason while I relocated...

I believe the North East is expensive...

From Chicago to Boston to Washington D.C. to New York City

But once you move down South, things become cheaper...

Atlanta Georgia, Charlotte North Carolina, Charleston South Carolina, Nashville Tennessee & Richmond Virginia

$2000+(my wife included). Being troubling she wants to see Nigeria cos of the bad way media already painted africa.

British airways is the cheapest for now(883$) while its $1300 for my wife. She will join me in nigeria a week after.

To spend Christmas with my family, i will cough out a lot of money on tickets alone. I guess i will only spend new year with them

One of my fear is spending such money in Nigeria only to come back in January to meet bills and start working agressively..

I did my wedding anniversary last year in las vegas. Did booking through expedia(frontier airline was fully booked while going to las Las Vegas and spirit airline while coming back to chicago). Damn, those seats were uncomforable but i fly southwest airlines now, i love their seats..

If i sleep and wake up in residential areas in las vegas, i will think im in a GRA in Nigeria. Their houses are similar to ours. Even for night, heat too much..i cant live in such places.
I have never flown Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines OR Southwest Airlines...

I have only flown American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Airlines & JetBlue Airlines...

They’re all good & I have been generally satisfied...

Are you based in Chicago, Illinois OR Ohio?

Ok, I only thought you were the only one traveling to Nigeria...

Since it’s two people is gonna be twice the expenses plus you also have to buy stuffs for your relatives in Nigeria...

Before you travel to Naija just set aside enough money for at least two months worth of expenses that way you don’t have to work aggressively when you return back to the United States...

Why spend only New Year with them & not Christmas?

Would flight tickets be cheaper during New Year?

For me, I did rather spend Christmas together with family than New Year...

Why is your flight ticket $2000?

I’m also traveling to Naija this December & I have already booked my ticket with Expedia...

It cost about $1200 for a round trip ticket from New York City to Lagos plus a $35 Trip Insurance...

Then I’m planning on shipping my car back to Nigeria around November that way it would be in Lagos by December...

Then I have about $3,000 already saved up that I plan on using whenever I’m in Lagos, Nigeria...

Everything is going to cost me about $6,000 just for traveling down to Naija for Christmas...

Then when I get back Next year, I plan on doubling my hustle & doing 16hours shifts all over again inorder to recoup the Money spent during Christmas Holiday...

Ohio is more like a Country...

Since I moved to the United States, I have always lived in a City OR Suburban...

I have lived in Richmond Virginia, Charlotte North Carolina, Miami Florida, Newark New Jersey & New York City & I’m planning to move to Atlanta Georgia next year...

I can’t leave in a country... it’s too slow paced for me...

I always wanna be in the heart of the city...

Always shine yours eyes whenever you’re in a Big City...

They almost ripped me off of my money the first time I visited New York City but because I tear eye I didn’t fall for their tricks...

Imagine someone was tryna to sell me a Luggage in Times Square for $300.00 when the actual price is $80.00?

I have also visited Atlanta Georgia, Washington D.C., Philadelphia P.A. & Baltimore Maryland...

The only Big Cities I haven’t visited yet is Los Angeles, California & Las Vegas...

Hopefully I get to visit these places soon...

Mum is a U.S. Citizen while Dad is a Nigeria Citizen...

So in essence the kids have a Nigerian Passport, Canadian Passport & a United States Passport...

Then coming to flight, it depends on your location. Some part like Nuremberg and Hannover even cost more than 300k sef depending on airline.
A bag of garri, dried Egusi, palmoil, salt, Ogbonor, dried fish and okporoko, Abacha etc (I for put ogiri shaa but make I just leave am to avoid public disgrace) coupled with all these shoes and clothes go near 70k.

Not only Finanzamt, The Auslanderamt knows every penny that comes to your account in as much you submit your tax number. They seems to have centralized their system now and this is how I noticed:

Initially, most employers will ask you to submit Polizeiliche Fuhrungszeugnisse (Police Character Report). You can get this by going to the Rathaus. But nowadays, most (if not all) employers can easily access your police report from a central Portal.

My advice to you guys over working is to be careful and thread softly. I have some guys who got mails from the Finanzamt asking them to explain why they over worked and this is a big offence because the auslander can cancel your residency permit having violated the § 16 law. you can type this into google (aufenthaltsgenehmigung § 16 and read in english to know more). The auslander could also decide to give you a resident permit without allowing you to work. I have seen this couple of times and it ain´t funny.

As for the 10,000 euros in a year....hmmmm, what else can I say undecided undecided undecided

Based on my own experience in the United States most students can never save about $10,000/year just by working while studying full time...

Heck, even U.S. Citizens don’t save $10,000/year while working full time...
