Car Talk › Re: INNOSON MOTORS - World's First Black-owned Car Manufacturer by 7lives: 1:04am On Nov 23, 2012
Nigerians love good things no doubt about this, but are we ready to pay the price?, no.
A country that has no functioning steel rolling mill cannot boast of having an auto plant.
Forget about what you read on pages of news papers, auto plants are billion dollar projects. And most times it takes the government will power, political and economic arm twisting of the brand owners to get them to set up these auto plant in another country, especially a developing country like Nigeria.
Innoson and others involved in auto assembly business will get there one day , but for now, this is just the reality, ask the Chinese and the Indians, they will tell you how they got their auto plants.

http://odili.net/news/source/2012/may/16/11.html

To adequately develop the sector, the Managing Director of Innoson Nigeria Limited, Chief Innocent Chukwura, recently called for review of government policies.
"If we continue to import fully built up vehicles, we are creating jobs for those countries we are importing from. But the importation of completely or semi knocked down vehicles will create a lot of employment or small-scale businesses,'' he said.
Chukwura said that apart from the usual challenges associated with industries, raw materials like steel were not readily available.

"If Ajaokuta steel can be resuscitated, it will serve the auto industry. However, the challenges remain, and if not surmounted, the dream of going back to the glorious days of auto industry may not be realized," he added.

This Innoson guy should be appreciated and encouraged, this is a massive achievement.
There is hope for Africa after all, with the much needed patronage and support, this auto assembly will metamorphosize into an auto plant, the likes of Ford in few years, in fact this is how Ford started.
People like these are the ones who should be given a national award for their business ideas and jobs creation for Nigerians.
Nigerian politicians should also borrow a leaf from this man, we know they are thieves no one is going to kill them if they can re invest those stolen billions into laudable projects like this to create jobs for Nigerians. People are really suffering out there and please no need for tribalism on issues like this, unemployment is a serious HUMAN QUESTION IN THIS COUNTRY. I am a Yoruba person, ta ba r'erin ka so pe a r'erin, ajanaku koja mo r'inkan firi.
God bless Innoson, God bless Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Why Are Most Private Universities Situated In The SW? by 7lives: 2:37pm On Nov 18, 2012
Ask the Nigerian government.
Alright take this, Obafemi Awolowo university and others.
Lagos state and other states.
South west and others.
Private universities are business enterprises, which can only prosper in a peaceful and enabling environment.

Politics › Re: SW Leaders Led By Tinubu Do Not Want Regionalism, Shamelessly Prefer Status Quo by 7lives: 6:42am On Nov 15, 2012
Regionalism was the western Nigerians best political moment until some dubious leaders in the country out of fear of being left behind by the west abolished it.
The west have since leaked their wounds, adapt,re strategized and move on. This is a sick country, others had better start planning their political relevance and survival.
And those proposing regionalism makes me laugh, the west had gone regional since the last election, in fact in a simple and quiet approach to the asylum called Nigeria.
Ajise bi Oyo la a ri, Oyo ki i se bi baba enikan.
Take this from Gautama the Buddha, the beautiful and the enlightened one, DECAY IS INHERENT IN ALL COMPONENT THINGS, FASHION OUT YOUR OWN SURVIVAL/SALVATION.

I thought the Igbos want Biafra nation, why regionalism again. Anyway let the Igbos learn to speak with one voice first, then they can sell regionalism and expect others to buy.
In the meanwhile, others have better things to do.

APGA should also come in to bargain for Igbo president, i see someone like Chris Ngige flying the presidential flag in this new arrangement.
Honestly speaking, Igbo president is long overdue, this is the only way every tribe can have a true sense of belonging.
Politics › Re: "Lagos To Issue Residents Identity Cards By January 2013" Fashola by 7lives: 8:32am On Nov 13, 2012
Fashola should just go ahead and do his job, he should not get sentimental, hard way is the only way.
Politics › Re: "Lagos To Issue Residents Identity Cards By January 2013" Fashola by 7lives:
Very good, people don't want to use their brains so everyone is either running away to abroad or Lagos. Lagos is now a concrete jungle, its about the survival of the fittest, law of the jungle.
I said it without remorse that by the time the Lagos state government is through dealing with the mad influx into Lagos, most people will sit and work out their survival in their villages and leave Lagos alone. What madness, between 10 to 12 people in 1 room in Lagos, another craze going on is 100 naira per night in crowded rooms, Babies, children and pregnant women inclusive, bread hawkers living in bakeries, abokis, okada men and area boys sleeping in front of people's stores and abandoned vehicles, what about living in dump sites and under bridges, market places and churches all in a desperate bid to live in Lagos.
People have themselves to blame for whatsoever befall them, people who were left behind in the villages are not stupid by staying behind. They have probably weigh their chances and realized that their chance of survival in Lagos is zero, these are the smart ones, not the ones who came to Lagos to chase shadows.
The Lagos state government will continue to look for ways to make their job easier, it is also the jobs of the citizens of other states to demand for better life from their state governments, FASHOLA IS JUST A GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE AND NOT THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA.
LET THERE BE MASS INSURRECTIONS IN OTHER STATES OF NIGERIA, ASK QUESTIONS, FIGHT BACK, MAKE DEMANDS,THE GOVERNORS ARE THERE TO SERVE YOU, FORCE THEM TO DO THEIR JOBS, YOU ARE THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES, STOP CHASING SHADOWS, LEAVE FASHOLA ALONE, GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
Politics › Re: Fashola Is Rude To Non-lagosians – PDP by 7lives: 11:06pm On Nov 09, 2012
Fashola should be allowed to work, why are Nigerians so difficult to govern?.
The people who voted for Fashola expects nothing less than the sanity that the governor is trying to enforce now.
Lagos state is just one out of so many states in the country, why should Fashola be made to carry so much NATIONAL BURDEN in Lagos?.
The okada men should take their protest to Abuja and ask for permission to do okada business there, after all that is the sit of Nigerian government.
It really disgusting how people vote in DUMB SKULLS as governors in their states, only for them to run to Lagos to constitute nuisances.
Fashola should provide more housing for the ever increasing mad crowd, he should give them jobs, in fact he should feed and accommodate the worthless destitutes, did Fashola invited them?, NO.
No wonder Yoruba people says EKO GBOLE O GBOLE, meaning, Lagos can accommodate the rogues and lazy ones.
I'm looking forward to the time when anyone without serious business will not even want to come to Lagos.
As for PDP, they should tell their president, to create jobs for the okada men, at least they can even score cheap political point from such benevolence, which i no THEY WILL NOT DO BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER DELIVER AND THEY WILL NEVER DELIVER.
Politics › Re: Governor Amaechi Buys $50 Million Bombardier Jet, Amid State’s Flood Disaster by 7lives: 11:50pm On Oct 26, 2012
Nigeria is indeed very sick, the electorate and the elected are all sick, if i may ask why will a governor need a private jet?.
Materialism, greed, and selfishness, this is the bane of black man. A great country like Nigeria has been reduced to a beggar nation, the citizens wore strange garments wandering from state to states, country to countries in confusion chasing shadows.
Governor Amechi you don't need a private jet, what you need is to leave your mark on the sands of time, this you will achieve by building a rivers state that will be the envy of all.
Great men are not rich men, they are ordinary men loved by all and God.
Politics › Re: Dr. Nwaezeigwe Defends Awolowo On Achebe’s Civil War Memoir by 7lives: 2:47pm On Oct 25, 2012
This is my first ever reaction to any sensitive issue on nairaland, the doctor has bare his mind, i must bare my mind that i am disappointed that prof Achebe can do this to his people at this time in Nigeria. In times of war, deadly weapons are used, from psychological weapons, political weapons, arms and ammunition's, biological weapon, chemical weapons, other devastating and painfully inhuman tactics are also used. This is why whoever want to go to war must first exhaust all available opportunities on dialogue AND I BELIEVE THAT WARS ARE AVOIDABLE.
Yes it is true that 2million people died of starvation due to Awo's starvation policy, Awo has a job to do and he did it, the same can not be said for Biafra warlords who pretends not to know that people die during wars. Every tribe has their issues with this country, but is it enough reason to go to war, people die during wars this is the TRUTH.
Now some one should call this old man to order before he throws this country into another senseless war, there are no permanent enemies only permanent interest. This is an old man that i expected to be making consultations, building bridges that will dissipate the negative energies that other tribes have towards Ndigbo so that this country can move forward.
2015 is around the corner, i will not be surprised if this SATANIC VERSES that some people are calling war memoir is what will be used against IGBO PRESIDENT AGENDA.
