GEJ laid the foundation for all this nonsense. When he was asked to allow the North produce a Presidential candidate in 2011 to complete Yaradua's tenure, he refused. He contested and won. He contested again in 2015 and if he won would have ensured the South ruled for 18 yrs compared with the North's 2 years. In that scenario, the South would have kept quiet, cleaned mouth and give one flimsy excuse. The North licked its wounds in 2011 and waited for a payback opportunity which they are now exploring. One of the issue you people will face is that once Lagos states starts collecting VAT, then the other states will impose VAT on imported items distributed to their states, and insist that VAT be paid at the place of final consumption.

Then you will see that in all its magnificence, Lagos State does not consume more than 10% of supplies to the country. It is only a hub, and cannot charge VAT on goods being distributed to other states since VAT is actually paid by the consumer.

In terms of local manufacturing Ogun and Anambra are better placed than Lagos.

Which people are from where? I know that area very well. The people that are there are mechanics and squatters (Okada riders and traders). That area has been demarcated for the coastal road since the early 1980s. The government had reached agreements with the Idejo that own the land since the Jakande era.

If you went to Lekki Beach in the 1980s or 1990s you would see the roundabout before the beach (I don't mean the roundabout on the expressway). That roundabout is there because the Coastal Road is meant to go through that area.
