CSTRR: Stop talking nonsense.
Obasanjo emergence had very little to do with the South West.
It was the south south and the east that supported him, while the North also supported him as a safer option against the Yoruba choice of olu falae.
And he rewarded igbos by bringing many igbo people to prominence. Infact he probably had more igbos than Yorubas in his key govt.
And the Yoruba grumbled all through his govt which gave tinubu a lot of Street credibility as an opposition leader.
You are rewriting history and claiming victories that are not yours.
The only president that the east did not vote for was Buhari. SW PDP delegates did not vote?, You well so? |

You and I know say na Fulani, Hausa, military, Middle belt and the SW block in PDP voted OBJ at the 1999 pdp primary, majority of those votes came in from the North. The same North that Igbos been dey abused since Buhari came in, " you don hear say na direct primary dem go take select the candidates"?. Now the question is can Igbo politicians undo what Igbo people have been doing since 2015?. Accept my sympathy in advance. |

But he is better than that clown . To the people of middle belt . Wait till it time for north to produce the president then you can challenge the Fulanis that it’s ur time . Don’t allow the Fulanis to divide you using that fool called Yaya Bello. He will ever be loyal to the Fulanis & do their biddibg Relax Yahaya Bello is planning for 2031, he himself will vote a Southern President. |

BSsniffer: Stop all these tales.......charms and cheap jazz are unreal. Absolute power belongs to God, this is why even babalawos paid obeisances to God. Juju is real, but power sometimes jam powers, when this happens juju will fail. The potency of one juju differs from others, Its like the difference between dane guns and machine guns. I read it on Facebook, Gani Adams said three babalawos came to Igboho's house with the DSS. , why do you think they came with the DSS?. The woman who led the operation was a Yoruba woman, she could even be a daughter of babalawo, her father will want her to succeed so a lot of fortification would have been done or she could have been the one who solicit for the service of those babalawos. The problem with juju is that they can be NEUTRALIZED, this is what makes it useless, this is why Igboho had to flee and lie low for now. I don't see him making a return " cause those who have powers don't make noise, they only appear when it's absolutely necessary. This reminds me of an incident that happened at mosafejo in Oshodi here, area boys were fighting among themselves and boys were dropping dead, a guy who happens to be a private trash disposer, watched with keen interest until a guy went for him and started pushing him, he ran and the idiot followed him. The trash collector only raised up his left hand and shouted " Ogun o " and a gun fell into his hand. Everyone saw it, the guy did not shoot his pursuer nor anybody, he only advise everyone to be careful as they might not know whom they were dealing with, that guy has not been seen in Oshodi since then. Those who have juju powers don't normally exhibit them, they mostly swallow them "cause they know these things can be destroyed. |

thebosstrevor1: After all the noise they have made, the threat they have carried out, the violence and the death they created directly and indirectly, where are these AGITATORS.
Twitter was their station of bragging, they claim they will bring the country down, make the country ungovernable, cry that there will be no Nigeria, they shouted that the only country they know is biafra nation and oduduwa nation, after all the noises, nigeria still exists but where are these AGITATORS?
After all the chestbeating, one of the AGITATOR leaders was caught in Kenya and dragged into the Nigeria court like a common criminal while the other ranaway after hearing the voice of a woman, he is presently still in hiding.
Where are the AGITATORS now? They are no where to be found. They have become alligators and are now hiding inside swamps. Baba go soon send sharks after them, sharks will soon be having a feast. |

But for Southern unity to work, the Yorubas have to support an Igbo man same way Igbos supported OBJ. Else the whole thing is a joke Yorubas owes Igbos nothing, this is why people like me will not be easily manipulated by Igbos. Igbos voted whom they like but Yorubas don't have such right?. Igbos voted Obj, Yorubas voted Falae and Falae's vp was even an Igbo man. Between Obj and Atiku, which one of them is related to Igbo?, selfish money lovers. Politics › Re: Akintoye: Awolowo Told Me Yoruba, Igbo Must Work Together For Freedom by 7lives: 10:51pm On Jul 14, 2021 |
kayjay69: Well, as much as i would like to believe Prof Akintoye as a casual observer of Nigeria's history, i would note that it is funny Awo said this.
In my view, as much as i hold Awo in high regard for a lot of things he did, the man was far from perfect and had his failings as any normal human being.
I have often criticised his role in the Biafra war particularly the policy of starvation against Biafra. Some may argue it is all fair in love and war but that was extreme and alot of innocents who played no role in the coup died for no reason.
However, the worst for me was the 20 pound rule and the economic isolation policy that Nigeria, under Awo's leadership (take note Awo was Coordinating Minister of Economy under Gowon and the 2nd most powerful man in that administration).
Now according to rumours, Awo was promised the North's support for presidency whenever democracy was restored. This same Northern elements truncated his ambition using other Yoruba men (Obasanjo and Abiola). So i guess baba finally realised in 1984 what he knew all along to be true since the 1950s, that the Hausa-Fulani were not good faith actors and they always hated his guts.
And i guess in hindsight, we all can see Ojukwu was right for wanting to seceed at the time, never mind his ulterior motives. And the craziest part of this is Awo was always for regional government, states built around sub-ethnic groups and so forth, why not throw his full weight behind Ojukwu, at that point he had nothing to lose. Well, i guess baba took the shortcut and in his latter years he must have realised just how treacherous and devious these northern elements were. E ma tan ara yin. Which sensible leader will willingly sign his people into subjugation?. Awo refused to work with Ojukwu because he already knows what lies ahead . Okay of recent, SS people have also rejected the idea of being dragged into Biafra, are you saying they didn't learn anything from Awo's supposed mistake?. Let me tell you people the truth, I personally won't want to do any kind of business, with those who will blackmail me, because I refused to be subservient to them. Awo is a tribalist because he didn't allow Zik become the premier of the West, was that not how Igbos labelled him?, okay so what was Akintola's offense? why did he had to die?. The reason Akintola was killed, was it not the same reason Igbos hide under end sars to make an attempt on Tinubu's life. rada rada, you people are being watched with keen interest in Yoruba land, last last e ni duro. Igbos labelled Tinubu a local champion before 2015, after 2015 you people labelled him the most corrupt Nigerian alive, you people are currently calling him drug baron. And you expect people to co-operate with Igbos, you guys should go and love your SS neighbors, Yorubas can live without Igbos. |

GreenArrow1: I'm a realist. I don't make up fairy tales in my head to make me believe that such a trial would be anywhere near a fair one. You have the a man, who jumped bail (a criminal offence), flouted all of his bail conditions, escaped to another country and started a violent uprising in his region leading to numerous murders. He manages to somehow get captured and his fate is to be decided by the very people with whom there only exists profound mutual hatred, and then you somehow expect a fair trial? Fair trail of Kanu by Buhari? For which dimension? I believe the only reason his capture was announced was only to gloat over the fact. Else, they'd simply have put a bullet in his skull after extracting necessary information and buried him in a drum filled with wet concrete and be done with it the moment they found him. I live in Nigeria. Not in Utopia. No amount of screaming from the UN, FIFA or CAF can get to that man in Aso Rock and his cabal. Him kuku get ear problem before so no joy there. Don't waste your time on nonsense, had Buhari government give Kanu a Bin Laden treatment, they won't be here yerning opata. |
