StarBoard:
Come and hide me na.
Na ya papa get nairaland.

Or do you want to ban me here?

Another childish rant.

StarBoard: Beating Leverkusen and dropping points to Cardiff.
Where is the consistency?
Yet one head-boy wants me to be complimentary.
I'm not impressed.
The result came mostly as a result of playing Kagawa in the hole. Thay way we looked far sharper than we've been all season going forward.
Which is what some of us here have been advocating all season long.
It took so long for a manager to get it right and the resident Einstein wants me to give him credit.

I could swear it wasn't Moyes who picked that squad. grin
Like nitrogen said, let's see how our game vs Spurs pans out. Even if I was wrong about the result, it doesn't change my view on David Moyes.

Now you have changed tune... no worry, shebi na here we dey!

RuuDie:
How very convenient - when UTD lose or draw, we (rather Moyes and a select set of players) are sh.y.te... when utd finally put up a decent showing, the other team is sh.y.te!

are you comfortable with our position on the table? draw at cardiff, draw against southampton & loss to wear brom(that's 7 points). even if we discount the losses against liverpool & man city, those 7 points are still enough to put us on top of the table.

we have been lucky our so called rivals have been napping too. city's been inconsistent away from home, mourinho can't put chelsea back to winning ways like his first stint at stamford bridge & liverpool have been liverpool - enough promises & broken dreams.

Rooney: Kagawa is a fantastic footballer and played superbly

Wayne Rooney piled the praise on Shinji Kagawa for his man of the match performance in Manchester United’s 5-0 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen in Germany .

The 24-year-old played from the start in his preferred No. 10 position behind Wayne Rooney who played as the lone striker and he thrived in his natural role.

Rooney and Kagawa’s link up play was fantastic and they both enjoyed their roles in what should have been a tough away performance against Bayer Leverkusen as they had never lost in the Champions League at home.

“Shinji is a fantastic footballer so it’s great for us,” Rooney said after the match.

“He hasn’t played much football but came in tonight and played superbly. It’s great to have players fighting for the positions.”

On paper, the Rooney and Kagawa partnership could be brilliant. Both players are excellent at providing the final pass and their quick movement between the lines caused Leverkusen a real headache.

It was the first time that Kagawa had played behind Rooney and it certainly worked. Robin van Persie has been preferred with Rooney behind him in the No. 10 role this season but what Kagawa showed Moyes was how well he can operate in his favoured position alongside Rooney.

I don't believe we won 5-0 because Kagawa played in the hole. I am not taking the credit away from him, but some other things contributed. Nani presence on the left meant that we had three men who could counter as United were known for the in the past. Valencia, Rooney and Nani were exceptional in their counter attacking football. The is the ability these guys have always had, but we were always weak on the left. When we had three players who could carry the ball with such force and speed to the opponents final third, it was always going to be good. Then we had Kagawa who was enjoying his natural game in the middle. Nani has come to form with more games. Also, Jones made life difficult for Leverkusen in the midfield, he tackled when he was supposed to and covered the defence well.

To me, all of the above were the reason we won emphatically. We should use the same method to play our next matches. The left midfield should be someone with power, then Rafael should replace Smalling if fit. Jones should be in our midfield to help stop opponents from terrorising us with speed and power. Jones should play until Fellaini knows how to win balls from opponents.

meracool: Guys we Will play Against Tottenham Dec 1st 2013 and also Jan 1st 2014

as long as we have one everyone healthy by then & moyes sorts his head, tottenham are doable. we could be on top of the table by january.

just give anderson a run of games - his superb run against leverkusen was a breath of fresh air. he's our only midfielder capable of such.

So in what formation will you play Anderson? Anderson played as 10 on Wednesday. If you were to drop him to CM, what will happen to Fellaini and Cleverley? Also, Andeson has been poor in winning balls.

Tearing them apart...... even at 40.

anderson & cleverley as the pivot. the number 10 roles belong to shinji kagawa. each time he's played there, we have looked deadly. every attack looked promising.

100% pass completion in how many games! Abeg!!!!! Stats can hype And for the world. Truth remains that he is way off the United standard. The Anderson of today is a far cry from the beast we supposedly signed from Porto.

is anderson the only player with limited appearance in europe? how come he clocked 100%?

anderson is our best midfielder bar carrick when he's fit. it's just that he's not been lucky with injuries.

Used to be our best midfielder is more like it. Dude is fat AF. Mobility is zero. Needs to reinvent himself. Right now, he's just a waste of space.

A player who made 2 passes and completes both has a 100% pass completion

Our players are like 'milk children as compared to Chelsea and City. I don't see any team in Europe that has ever easily torn Chelsea to piece.

Speed, pace and power are becoming very important in today's football. See Robben, Ribery for Bayern Munich.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by dayokanu(m): 9:31pm On Nov 29, 2013
With City's power they were torn to shred at the Etihad while Chelsea most times resort to anti football to remain in games

anderson & cleverley are our most mobile midfielders. the others are just statues. carrick never moves & fellaini is a statue.

he's fitter - not necessarily better.
however, being fit or not missing games is also a skill these days. of what use is a skilful player that is perennially injured?

so in that wise, carrick is the best. after carrick comes cleverley(slightly cos he's fitter than anderson). fellaini has not yet shown promise so the jury is out on him.

1. City are not experienced in Europe.

2. Chelsea beat you. Chikena. Their style of play that year is akin to Italy world cup winning team of 2006. Call it any name, they won it.

3. What you don't know, Bayern is and always has been a power playing team. Your players have always been physical and pacing.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 9:46pm On Nov 29, 2013
Jones has been our best midfield player this season. You guys won't accept it because it is no his natural position.

Who are these City players not experienced in Europe? Is it Aguero, Zabaleta, Silva, Kompany, Fernandinho or is it Pellegrini who isnt experienced in Europe

2. I told you to always watch games there was nowhere Italy lined up 10 players in their box in world cup 2006. And we beat Chelsea in this Supercup

3. How is Bayern a power playing team? Who are the Power players in Bayern?

jones & valencia are the worst players @ united currently. when jones is not playing as a centre-half, he's clueless.

valencia has not beaten a marker in 2013. he nearly missed his tap-in sef - the post assisted him. nani should be starting on the right.

who else can finish off teams like this?

1. The experienced teams from EPL are Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. City in Europe is like Schalke 04, if not worse.

2. You didn't watch Italy in 2006, they were criticized for playing negative football until the final match. Meanwhile, Chelsea scored against you and also miss chances. How was that a defensive game with 10 men in the box? What. Is super cup as compared to UCL trophy.

3. Robben and Ribery are ogas. Alaba and co. Those days, Oliver 'lion' Kahn (is the spelling?) Even as a goalkeeper. Your female national teams too are like men.
