Awesome01: His submission may not work. I would rather suggest regional government; where we have 1 president, 6 vice-presidents for our geopolitical zones I.e. 6 regions, each region with its HOR, Governors for each state in the regions reporting to their respective VPs, then L.G. chairmen.
Having 6 regions will bring about competition resulting in speedy development.
Each region will manage its resources, contributing about 10% to the centre.
Each region can enact laws which is applicable to its zone. You don't need 6 "vice-presidents" who are effectively regional Premiers... A Vice-President (like the President) should have the ENTIRE nation as his/her primary constituency. If we want to return to regional governments... Then scrap the states, create regions with fiscal independence, and if a state wants states it can create and pay for them itself. > |

Dee60: Everybody knows that. We can also do away with two-thirds of the House of Assembly. We can do away with 24 states and go back to 12 states of Nigeria. We can do away with so many unprofitable offices and save money and stop behaving like a rich country. UK Prime Minister goes around with entourage of 2 cars, Nigerian counterpart goes out with 20 times that number! Instead of killing the economy with your new TAX budget 2020, you should urgently do away with a lot of things and a lot of unprofitable offices. Dont wait until BBC exposes your wasteful living. The Connecticut compromise is well suited a diversity such as our... Respectfully disagree... Equality of the states was important to US states because they came together to create the union... In our case of randomly-created units (states), of greater importance/relevance is that the legislature REFLECT the population. > |

MobilityExpress: They should scrap the Senate, scrap the HOR, scrap the monarchy institutions, scrap the redundant Ministries and merge duplicated agencies like ICPC, EFCC etc. 85% Budget for recurrent expenditure will be saved, that's about over N3 trillion naira. This is the best path to real development, instead of the FG looking for more ways to tax Nigerian citizens to death. Otherwise, this country will keep going in circles and going nowhere!
Also, what are we even doing with 35 Governors? More than half of whom are practically non-performing and are just instruments of mass corruption and stealing. 4 governors is ok, one for each region, North, West, South, East. Commissioners should be scraped too. We just need 1 president, 4 governors, 6 ministers (Energy, Economy, Technology, Security, Agriculture, Education), and 144 LGAs (4 for each state). Then government recurrent expenditure can be less than a billion per year, then the remaining N4 trillion plus that would have gone to waste can be transferred into meaningful development and manufacturing. And watch how Nigeria will become another China within 20 years. They should not be scrapped, but government should NOT financially support them... Let each community (who claim to be proud of their 'culture') pick up the bills themselves. We also need an elected legislature at the federal level... That's the essential difference between REPRESENTATIVE government and dictatorships. > |

That’s a Strawman’s Argument since I never said that ALL businessmen started with hundreds of millions... In contrast, you averred NO entertainer was worth over $2b and NO billionaire businessman started with a 10th, which were INCORRECT! Yet again, quit comparing apples with oranges. For someone who claims to recognize that success is not limited to money, your position seems rather ironic. Not surprising that a DUMB Nigerian preacher-con artiste with allegations of sexual infidelity would be praying for the DOTARD Trump who pays hush money to porn stars he slept with during his wife’s pregnancy, among other things. Anyway, don’t blame him. He comes from a country where there are little or no consequences to pay no matter the egregiousness of the offense (as he himself can personally testify).
The IRONY is that the borderline white supremacist Trump would likely be pissed if he hears an African Shyte-holer is praying for him. SMH > |

sinceraconcept: To some people, you have to have those stuffs to be considered living that life, other things you consider as end of luxury and possession are child's play they've already been having since they were teenagers. I'm not talking about his age. Since you were acting like it has never happened before for a 26 year old guy to achieve what he has achieved. Zuckerberg was 23 or so when he became a dollar billionaire and one of the 100 richest people on earth under the age of 25 and Americans were not saying "Yay,no be the same head I get this guy get? " Davido has actually tried for his age and that's what you should have said and not treat him like God. Life is all about levels and the way each individual adds value to the world. He also has some people he looks up to and humble to. Instead of thinking you can never get rich or that you're not destined to be as rich or richer than Davido, why not just concentrate on what you do or do you think you can't make it in life again? Some people are not as rich but have surpassed him in terms of achievement and imparting in people's lives, like the girl that busted that Lecturer for example should be around Davido's age but she has surpassed Davido in terms of achievement because what she did is potentially beneficial to every woman that is aspiring to go to higher institution, but,I know it won't be anything to you since you Nigerians see wealth only as the ultimate success in this world and see other achievements as nothing. Davido's music and endorsement is only beneficial to himself and his family, if hin no sing, another person go sing. Dude, there were at least 2 others who have already done same - the girl at OAU Ife and the girl at Unilorin... Please quit pettily pitting people’s success against others. sinceraconcept: Celebrity lifestyle is the most expensive thing to maintain. No celebrity, be it actor, musician or athlete is worth up to $2 billion dollar but no business man that's a dollar billionaire started his business with up to 10% of what most of these successful celebs earn. Some dollar billionaire businessmen even started with not up to 0.001% of what some celebs earn and 20 years after, the business man would be a dollar billionaire butsful celeb must wear a cloth twice, cekeb has to come out with different cars, first class flight, 5 star hotels for himself and his entourage, etc Business life needs prudence, willingness to live humble, accountability, being less extravagant, etc but celeb life is opposite of all these. A celeb has no business in being prudent, must be extravagant, limited time for accountability, etc. Celebs spend the money as it comes but business men reinvest the money as it comes. Oprah Winfrey is worth well over $2 billion... Even 21-year-old Kylie Jenner is already a billionaire. Meanwhile, if you count Dotard Trump as a billionaire businessman, then suffice it to point out that he started off with several hundreds of millions of dollars from his father, and if you count him as an entertainer he would be another entertainer reputedly worth more than $2 billion (if you believe him). Either way, you are comparing apples with oranges. Meanwhile m you should know that a lot of those clothes, and other perks (private jets, hotels, etc.) are actually COMPED! And if paid for, can be written off as a business expense. It’s not necessarily an extravagant lifestyle that impoverishes celebrity but TERRIBLE investments. > |

Budline1: LOL. Exactly o. Music money goes as it comes.. Ppl can do the math, they get money from shows, tours and sometimes endorsements, wouldn't they spend on flight, hotels, payback investors, record label crews, luxurious things to maintain a certain look, and other necessities of life. At the end of the day, what is left isn't that much. If a whole Bow wow and JD could go broke despite how they made their monies in Millions of dollars, who are Nigerian artistes? Music is a hustle and you must always trend and make hits back to back to maintain the lifestyle. They are simply over rated. Anybody can go broke, not just musicians... Even Trump filed for bankruptcy several times.
Meanwhile, while Bow Wow and ‘em may earn their monies in dollars... They also spend such monies in dollars and have the IRS to deal with. Naija musicians mostly spend tax-free Naira!
Just be happy for others’ success. What these dudes have achieved is actually remarkable... And quite often people who cannot acknowledge/respect the success of others rarely become successful themselves.> |
