It has come to my notice that in this 2012/2013 POST UTME screening exercise some Nigerian universities are embracing technology (e.g. UNIBEN) they now require students to pay their post utme application fee via ATM or master card. But in these days that there are corporate scam all over Naija, hope it people would not cry. I pray that N2000 payment should not add more zeros and turn to N20,000 being deducted from peoples account after payment. Please if you have made post utme payment via ATM or mastered drop your experience here. Students please do not disclose your ATM pin to Cybercafe operators in guise that they want to use it make payment for you, ask them to use their own ATM card if they don’t have, move straight to next Cyber for it. If you are a Guru or a programmer in NAIRALAND please educate students on how to safe guard their card during or after THIS registration.
Please! please! Please! Drop your application experience here if you have made payment via any of the online payment system so upcoming registrants would know the pit fall to avoid.
Well! Nigeria is advancing maybe this is the beginning of cashless society or whatever!

Education › Re: Important Info. For Jambites!! Before Changing Your Institution! by a1solution: 7:13pm On Apr 02, 2012
The Arbiter: A NOTE OF WARNING TO ALL CANDIDATES INTENDING TO CHANGE INSTITUTIONS

I am speaking from experience and a real life situation that played out last year. Change of institution over the internet is a futile excercise in money and energy, which i suppose a few candidates might have discovered.

Firstly, JAMB put its master database in a lock down mode after registration closes and subsequently hosts a copy of it on its website. Only results are updated in the master database while the online one is open to all sorts of various updates as you may wish.

Secondly, the master lists sent out to institutions are generated from the master database and not from the hosted online copy. The master database is intended to be updated via a sync with the online one by the database admins but it seems they are yet to perfect the code for doing it effectively.

Thirdly, some of the changes requested by candidates are in conflict with the requirements of some institution and leads to the outright disqualification of such candidates from post-UTME tests. This happens because the registration mechanism has no code to check and validate such. The occurrence of such observed changes is also responsible for the relunctance of JAMB to implement such updates from the online database.

Fourthly, unless if a drastic overhaul had been implemented and the current dabase and admins were different from last year then its the same kettle of fish. You make changes online that doesnt reflect in the lists sent to the various institutions.

I discovered the above after we attempted to changed my cousins institution. I changed it to an institution where i had a contact in their IT dept. The JAMB master lists on CD's arrived and a check showed my cousin was not on the list. Went to Abuja and had a friend check their database, he confirmed my cousin's first choice was still the initial. I asked why and he gave the first 3 reasons above.

If anybody really wants to do it. They may well bear it in mind to go to their initial first choice schools to check when the post-UTME lists comes out.

PS: Also found out JAMB didnt send 2nd choice lists to institutions last year. It did so the year before but not last year.
THANKS FOR THIS SPECIAL INFO.
Its very shameful to say the least. Jamb knew this kind of traffic was coming owing to the over 1.5milion candidates they registered but yet they decided to do nothing about it until the last miniute. This is outright imcompetence, to worsen the whole thing all the paper and news channels have published the news that jamb results have been released. What a shame.
RUMOR SAYS THEY ARE WORKING SERIOUSLY TO COME UP WITH A NEW SITE DEDICATED FOR THE RESULT CHECKING ONLY, IF CONFIRMED I WOULD INFORM YOU AND PROVIDE THE NEW SITE.
Education › Cyber Cafes Jamb Corporate Scam. How Do We Go About It. by a1solution(op): 10:10am On Mar 25, 2012
I made N10,000 payment to JAMB to enable JAMB accredit my Cyber cafe in kwale Delta state for the 2012/2013 UTME registration. But up till the close of registration I did not receive any reply from this e-mail address that Jamb provided for it (utme12cyber@gmail.com) I had made several calls to JAMB office they say I should resend the e-mail which I have done several times without receiving reply. I went back to Zenith Bank and they checked their record with Jamb the money was actually credited to Jamb account since the above date. Nairalanders I want you people to advice or help me unravel the mystery behind this because I wonder why all the e-mails I had been sending to the e-mail addressed they provided had not been replied because even if I’m not approved at least I am suppose to receive a reply and my money given back to me. Please advice me because most people are saying they did same to them that they would just select few people to accredit and seize other peoples money. Even the biometric machine I bought N30,000 for the registration is now lying useless because I did not use it. This is the account I paid to. Account (UTME12CYBER; Account No. 1012830959) Zenith Bank. I learnt some people even paid twice without receiving a reply from the E-mail address they provided not to talk of the so called access code. Below is the message they pasted on their website that made me fell for their trick.

From http://www.jamb.org.ng/Unifiedtme/CyberAdmin/Default.aspx

• Please scan your teller and send it by email to utme12cyber@gmail.com
• Upon confirmation of your payment, your Access Code shall be sent to you via your email address. Confirmation takes three (3) working days
• The Access Code is Non-Tranferable, and you are liable for all the transactions done with the Code.

• Note that candidate has the right to report your office if you overcharge and your Access Code may be withdrawn and you also forfeit your caution fee
• At the end of registration exercise, the caution fee shall be refunded to you via your”
I followed all the procedure above but up till now no reply from JAMB (utme12cyber@gmail.com)
I even wonder why a corporate organization is using Gmail to receive mails instead of their own website.
Any good suggestion on how to retrieve my money would be welcomed.THANKS

Nigeria had a general Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized across the nation today. The examinations are being conducted for university admissions, however, it is not clear how the question papers reportedly sneaked out from invigilators hours before the approved start time for the exams. Nigerian test bodies are notorious for a culture of aiding and abetting examination malpractices, the scourge grows every exam period in Nigeria. I wonder who controls nairaland. why cant the faces of people in the picture be darkened or blur this kind of picture is capable of shutting down Nairaland forever if the people in question decide to sue Nairaland. because the pictures where taken outside the hall, it is not concrete evidence.

Today, UTME candidates were sighted earlier in the morning before examination commenced, downloading some alphabets supposedly believed to be answers from sources they claim are authoritative' in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination organizing body. Some of them said they already had the questions leaked since the eve of the exam.

Our journey began at Genesis through Exodus. On the way, we saw Leviticus recording the Numbers of people at Deuteronomy, while Joshua was waiting at

The beautiful gate for Judges to see Ruth calling loudly "Samuel, Samuel". At a stage, the first and second Kings of Chronicles were coming to visit Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther for the misfortune of Job, their brother. Then they noticed that Mr. Psalm...s was teaching his children Proverbs concerning Ecclesiastes and Songs of Solomon. This coincided with the period that Isaiah and Jeremiah were engaged in Lamentation for Ezekiel and Daniel their friend. By that time, Amos and Obadiah were not around. Three days later, Hosea, Joel and Jonah travelled in the same ship with Micah and Nahum to Jerusalem . More also,Habakkuk visited Zephaniah who introduced him to Haggai a friend of Zechariah whose cousin is Malachi. Immediately after the old tradition, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John got involved in Acts with the Romans who were behaving like the Corinthians, who were also always at loggerhead with the Galatians. At that time too, the Ephesians realizing that the

Philippians were close to the Colossi-ans,suggested to the Thessalonians that they should first of all see Timothy who had gone

to the house of Titus to teach Philemon his younger brother how to read and write Hebrew. On hearing this, James asked Peter to explain to him how the three Johns have disclosed to Jude the Revelation of our Lord JESUS CHRIST!
ITS ALL FUN AND GOOD. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MOTHERS IN THE WORLD.
