Serious grouse. They remain one of the most useless and selfish unions in Nigeria. But hey which civil servant is responsible in Nigeria. All are the same.

Some who have refused to be schooled but are all round commentators on issues they've got little or no knowledge on, keep making this statement: "How can ASUU be dictating to his employer on how he should be paid? I trust Buhari will deal with them."

Congratulations and Weldone! Buhari is really dealing with them. Meanwhile, this is what Nigerian law says;

"The Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Act 2003 (otherwise called the Universities Autonomy Act No. 1, 2007) enacted by the National Assembly and signed into law on 10th July 2003 and later gazetted by the Federal Republic of Nigerian Official Gazette No. 10, Volume 94 of 12th January 2007 as Act No. 1 of 2000, has vested the powers of managing personnel and payroll system issues in the hands of each university’s governing council".

Has this Act been repealed by Buhari's government and replaced with "OAGF is vested with the power to manage the payroll of all public universities through IPPIS"?

Lets set our emotions, loyalty and interest aside and behave like educated people. Presidents will come and go, and Nigeria will remain.

STRONG Indications have emerged that the Federal Government may at the end of the day, accept demands by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU by jettisoning and the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS and accepting tthe University Transparency Account System(UTAS) payment platform developed by the University Lecturers.

According to the Federal Government, it may accept the UTAS which is a local content after subjecting it to integrity test today

The Minister of Labour, Employment and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige made the disclosure yesterday after a meeting with the leadership of the Senate and ASUU led by its President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi.
Speaking with Journalists after the meeting, Ngige who noted that the integrity test of UTAS will be carried out at the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, with the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning in attendance.

According to the Minister, the Federal Government at the end of test may settle for UTAS if found better than IPPIS.

Ngige said,” We are subjecting the University Transparency Account System(UTAS) to integrity test today in the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, with the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning in attendance. We will not mind accepting it we see it as more robust because it is more of local content.”FG Considers ASUU “UTAS” Payment software, subjects it to integrity test today.

The court should have sanctioned Egbule for the drama that played out yesterday. He was obviously sponsored by PDP to derail the case. I’m glad the other senior lawyer stood his ground and prevented the case from being derailed.

See, I have faulted the Tribunal ruling severally.

The Court of Appeal had adjudicated on this before.

Can a Tribunal judgement supercede an Appeal Court's?

The case is not dead, but it is on LOW battery.

Don't also forget, the Court of Appeal will not just depend on the tribunal judgement, NO....

Diri has filed 12 grounds of Appeal, it is imperative that the ANDP replies...that is what will be the foundation for judgement.

I don't think you understand what is going on.
Kehinde represents the Part as the Guber Candidate didn't even participate in the tribunal.

A lawyer of Kehinde's stand will not accept to 'kill' the case, hence, they are withdrawing the appeals earlier made by him and replacing him.

This lawyer will help them mount NO defence to Diri's appeal. If they were the petitioners, they would have asked the Court to withdraw the case.
