I don't find her voice great. In fact I don't even want to hear it. I think she screeches. Listening to eminado or the other song with Bello makes me upset. But it's just me, apparently, so I'll mind myself. No be beans to do back up, but it also doesn't mean you have a great voice. Who would hire a screechy voiced witch to be their back-up? Certainly not those she backed! You don't find her voice agreeable, fine. Same way I don't find some of the world's best agreeable. Just that it doesn't change the standing fact. That she has the voice to sing.... |

There is so much waste in Nigeria. Why seize something and then leave it to rot when it could generate revenue?
That's how I heard that one RITZ hotel was seized from a government official and is presently rotting in Benin. The massive edifice has not even been open for one day. Just sealed off till it finally crumbles.
Go to all states in Nigeria, the story is the same.... |

Business › Re: Is It Wise To Start A Business With Loan by aameyah(f): 9:52pm On Apr 11, 2016 |
You won't be availed the loan in the first place due to so many factors.
1. Banks support existing businesses, not start-ups. 2. Your collateral is simply not OK (salary) and you can't tell a bank you want to repay a business loan from your salary. 3. Banks only finance brand new trucks, no tokunboh. 4. The bank will not give an untested businessman money adequate enough to get a brand new truck. 5. Source of repayment sounds iffy. In the sense that what is the guarantee business will be adequate so you won't default. Remember the business should generate enough for repayment. 6. How well off are you financially if your statement is analysed? How much can you contribute towards the truck?
So many factors, my brother. But I'll stop here. |

andyanders: It is a shame for him to even be saying this at his age. Having displayed his status herein without having to think about his future when he was young goes to show that he wasted his youthfulness and should have himself to blame.
Is even a disgrace to be telling the world that he is homeless now. During his time, with just N100, he would have gotten a land to build a house. Maybe he was living from hotel to hotel enjoying himself and now that he is old, he has nothing to show.
Too bad. I agree. But let's not forget they were not well-paid in those days and he probably was not a full time lecturer entitled to pension. And I do like that he is not displaying the spirit of entitlement like most Nigerians. Hope he spends the 1m judiciously Sha. At the end of the day, it's not a lot of money. lebroske: Dear nairalanders, please i need your advice on what to do. My wife had been seducing men in the compound where we live lately. We are just newly married, less than a year now. We live in a story building and the windows are made in glasses. One could easily see through them especially in the night. So, what she does is each time she finishes taking her birth, she exposes her body knowing quit well that men around can see her through the window. She does it in the morning, during the day when she notices that i am not around and in the night.
The day i discovered, i confronted her, she said it was her body that it was not none of my business. Though we were quarreling before then. But i knew that was not the first time, she has been doing it before because each time i open the windows in the morning, i always notice that people(men) will just be looking towards my direction. I kept wondering what they were looking at until the day i discovered.
Dear nairalanders, what can i do to make her stop it. Because its getting out of hand. Now she hides and do it and she knows i am not happy with her now. Great nairalanders, please i need your advice. Thank you Una nor get curtains? |

My pad disposal method depends on where I am and what method would be most convenient. If I am lucky to be in a place where the soak away has a pipe leading in, I throw it in.
If I need to flush it, I remove the top layer, rinse and tie in a newspaper or nylon and dispose in the trash. Then I flush the inner layer. If not, it would surely block the WC.
If tissue, then I flush.
In my school, we had this trash can for disposing pads in the bathroom. You throw in your pad and the cleaners emptied it mornings and late afternoons. But I learnt the cleaners sell the pads and we also had thieves coming to steal them in the night, sote the pad trash would be empty in the morning, meanwhile people were changing throughout the night. So back then, I would tie them and take them to the main 'boola', where they dispose all the hostel trash. Impossible for anyone to go rummaging through that.
I've also burnt. But I don't find that too convenient. |

Career › Re: What Do I Need To Know As An Aspiring Banker! by aameyah(f): 10:20pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
bxcode: Am not trying to do that ma'am, I totally agree that units are different but I have been on jobs before that I hated and it sapped me all round, then I got to asking myself what's really wrong. Changed job but the same stress persisted until I discovered that my job is not my problem but my attitude to my job and the fact that I magnified the bad more than the good. I worked on my inside and it totally changed everything. Ma irrespective of the dept or nature of job you are into, you can decide the way that you view your job and what you focus more on, it's a choice. I can guarantee you that 99.9% of an average job in this country is stressful and energy sapping, it's not only baking job. It's just that people have magnified their bad experiences as a result of their attitude and so on. I have friends who are marketers that have terrible bosses but it dosent bother them a bit and they love their job. While some others in that same dept can't wait for Fridays to come every week. Though I agree that some job are simply inhumane and pure evil. Many bankers started their career with a 100% attitude. They swore they were going to give the job their all. But there is no way you can keep up the smile when you are at work 7-9, with at most a 30 minute break after 4 to eat, only to continue your transactions right until you home. You go home, sleep and then the same thing happens next day. Weekends when you should rest, you are called for street mapping, regulatisation or MPR. Or you decide to go file all the documents you've been piling since you can't file daily due to the workload. And one boss will still be screaming at you everyday, accusing you of not working and threatening you with sack inspite of your best efforts. I know there are people who love their bank jobs. But if you work under the above conditions, you won't love it. And it won't be your fault. |

bxcode: Well that's your opinion but I wouldn't agree with you or else we both will be wrong. If you believe that bank work is stressful both physically and emotionally, then I can guarantee you that you will be stressed both physically and emotionally, it's your choice. But for me my job is a blessing and a means to put my God given talent into practice. It's demanding but it ain't robbing me of my emotions and physical well being. Not all banks and units are the same. So you can't use the way your shoe fits to describe where it's pinching another person.... |
Career › Re: What Do I Need To Know As An Aspiring Banker! by aameyah(f): 1:57pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
bxcode: I've discovered that a lot of things that people call stress are actually birthed as a result of the type of lifestyle they live. There is no work that won't naturally demand a lot from you, but how you manage your little time will go a long way to determine if you will go through your job healthy or worn out. Bank job is stressful but people are in it and are living a happy and fulfilled life. It's not about what your job demands from you, it's about how you manage and respond to those demands. Some bankers close work around 6-7pm or thereabout but spend the next hours in bar and outdoor until the wee hours of the night. Why won't you be stressed? If you learn how to master your time and be in control of your 24hrs and only do things that ADDS VALUE to your future, by the grace of God you will stand anything that your job throws at you. But if you dabble into the general notion that a particular job is bad and so on.... then get ready to experience that imagination you have bought from others. You have it wrong. Bank work IS stressful! Physically and emotionally. |

It is mind boggling that you would see a married man's place as your first option to squat. Without his wife around!! Is it that throughout your time with the Delta State Government, you didn't have any savings? To get a cheap place in mpape, madalla or the likes? Kubwa? If them pour you hot water now, you will now become a front page topic on naira land.
Then next you moved to a place with 2 men, with just you as the female! People you don't know from Adam! Who could be rapists, killers...who could be anything!
I'm sorry but you are engaging in very dangerous behavior. You are not the first that will go to Abuja to find work neither will you be the last. You better wise up or go back to Delta and teach. It's the living that can work ooo. |
