HealthCovid19: Taraba State Government Discharges Six Patients. by Ababbio(op): 11:14am On May 13, 2020
Taraba state government said, six covid19 patients have been discharged from it health facilities after successful treatment.

This was disclosed by the state commissioner for information and member of the state’s technical Committee on COVID-19, Danjuma Adamu, during the press briefing in Jalingo.

According to him, the Six covid19 patients that have fully recovered have been discharged to reunite with their families on Tuseday, May 12, 2020.

He further stressed that the total number of confirmed cases of covid19 in Taraba state stands at 17, and said the remaining 11 active cases are receiving appropriate treatment.

However, the commissioner urged the public to adhere to precautionary measures as the government is doing it best to curtail the spread of the virus.

President Muhammadu Buhari has again condemned the attack and counterattack on people among the Fulani and Addara communities in in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state, saying the killing in the name of revenge is wrong.


This was disclosed by the president spokesman, Garba Shehu via his verified twitter handle on Tuseday, May 12, 2020.


Reacting to the recent attack and counterattack reported on Tuseday, president Buhari through Mr. Sheri said, ” killing people in the the name of revenge is not acceptable” adding that recourse to individuals’ implementation of their rights without resorting to legal writ or consultation of higher authority.


He however said, the real cause of the killing and counter killing between the two communities is the law of the land.


The president therefore warned that no one should take laws into his or her hands.

HealthCovid19: Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board Donates 500 Facemasks by Ababbio(op): 10:13am On May 12, 2020
The Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board (LSTMB) has donated 500 facemasks to the Lagos State Government through its Medical Warehouse at Lekki on Monday.


The Board Chairman, Prof. Adebukola Oshintelu, presented the facemasks to the Manager of the Medical Warehouse, Mr. Razak Olajide, explaining that the gesture is a demonstration of support to the State Government in its efforts to curtail community transmission of Covid19.


Represented by a member of the Board, Prince Olusesi Tajudeen, the Chairman stated that traditional medicine practitioners have been charged to ensure constant handwashing, use of sanitisers and physical distancing at the community level.


Prof. Oshintelu opined that adherence to all safety rules and guidelines by all and sundry will enable the world to overcome the pandemic soon.


The Manager of the Lagos Medical Warehouse, Mr. Razak Olajide, called on other organisations, bodies and individuals to emulate the Board’s gesture by supporting the State Government’s efforts to contain the spread of COVID19.

The novel corona virus fatality recorded in Delta state, on Sunday morning was an American lady who was said to have been invited to Nigeria by a young man she met on the internet.


This was shared by a tweet user @Austynzogs today, according to the tweet the woman died with symptoms of Covid19 in an hotel in Osubi, Delta State. The deceased and the young man had been lodged at a hotel in Osubi town before she died on Sunday.


The tweet reads: ” An American woman died in Osubi, Delta State on Sunday morning with symptoms synonymous to #COVID19. The lady was said to have been invited to Nigeria by a young man she met on the internet.The young man and the white lady had been lodged at a hotel in Osubi town”.


Some Nigerians have reacted to the post, some said the young man should be arrested others said, he should be quarantined and be tested for covid19.

HealthCoronavirus: Use Madagascar Herb To Treat Patients Says President Buhari. by Ababbio(op): 7:56pm On May 11, 2020
President Mohammed Buhari as on Monday May 11, directed the presidential task force on COVID-19 to use the with Madagascar’s herbal drugs, ‘COVID-Organics’, to treat Codvid19 patients in Nigeria.


Buhari gave this directive after the herb was successfully in the treatment of 55 patients.


This was disclosed by the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, during daily briefing of the task force in Abuja.


According to him, Madagascar donated some of the products to Nigeria through Guinea-Bissau and noted that arrangements are ongoing to bring it down to the country.


“The president of Madagascar sent it to Guinea Bissau. Certain allocations have been made to different countries.


“We have an indication of the quantities that have been allocated to Nigeria, and we are supposed to make arrangements to freight it out of Bissau to Nigeria.


“I have received instructions from Mr President to make arrangements to freight it home.”

Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced the discharged of 60 COVID-19 patients from the state health facilities after successful treatment.

The governor who made this know via a post on his official twitter handle, on Tuesday May 5, said the 60 patients comprises of 40 males and 20 females, from our Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities to reunite with their families and Society.

The tweet reads : "Today, we discharged 60 COVID19 Lagos patients; 40 males and 20 females, from our Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities to reunite with their families and society

The Kwara State government has announced that six of it Covid19 patients are ready for discharge from it isolation centers, having tested negative twice.


This was disclosed by the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, via his verified twitter handle, on Sunday May 3, 2020.


According to him, all the patients were health workers, and have tested negative twice and are ready for discharge today.


Governor AbdulRasaq, glory God Almighty for his faithfulness and commended the health workers in the front line of covid19 fight for their doggdness in discharge of their duties.


“I am glad to announce that six of our patients, all health workers, have twice tested negative and are ready for discharge today. We give glory to God Almighty for this feat and we sincerely commend our frontline workers who made this possible”, he said.


He added that all the remaining patients are in stable condition and in high spirit, prayed to Almighty God to grant the state success in management of the cases.


The governor noted that the number of infection across the country is still very high therefore, the state can not afford to let down it guards.


For this reason he said, effective from tomorrow, Monday May 4, there will be statewide curfew between 6p.m. and 6.a.m. until further notice. This is part of the agreements of the Northern Governors Forum to prevent non-essential and unauthorised movement that could spike infection rate.


AbdulRasaq said, in addition to the measures earlier announced on Friday May 1, the government hereby bans movement form one local government to the other.


Furthermore, the governor said the restriction is true of local government with clear borders, saying the state is not in anyway out of the danger of the pandemic. He urged Kwarans to stay at home if they can, and if they must go out, they must use face mask.
