Man EATING MEN ! CLifford Orji's "Brother" Innocent Orji Cannibal Kidnappers .Chinese man buried in bush

Clifford Orji the celebrated Cannibal and alleged Human Spare Parts Marketer, now 43, was arrested in February 1999, by the police, under the bridge along the Apapa-Oshodi expressway. He was subsequently charged before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate’s Court, on 19 February.

Items reportedly found on him at the time of his arrest are a cheque for the sum of N88,000; cell phone, allegedly sent to him by his brother, Linus, Managing Director, Crocodile Nigeria Limited. Other items were identified as fresh and roast human flesh, bones and sAs the South East is reeling under the problem of kidnapping, one of those behind this crime has made a shocking revelation on the activities of kidnappers. He said that apart from collecting ransom, kidnappers have killed many of their victims and policemen. He also said that at one instance kidnappers killed, roasted and ate their victim.

Innocent Orji Clifford Orji's Brother in food

These are a part of the revelation of General Innocent Orji, who claims to belong to the high command of the Biafra Liberation Force (BLF), a unit of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). The police recently nabbed the suspect, who was on a wanted list in connection with the kidnap on March 17, 2009, of two Chinese nationals and a Nigerian in a new auto plant in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Orji, also called ‘B’ Stone or Biafran Stone, had been linked with the invasion of a police station in Anambra, during which sophisticated arms were looted and an undisclosed number of cops killed, among many other criminal acts. He met his waterloo on Friday, May 29, more than two years after the three victims – Niu Guiqiang, Sylvester Unigwe, both of who survived the ordeal and Feng Shenyi, who died in the hoodlums’ bush camp, were abducted in Nnewi and taken to a hideout in Ebonyi State.

Orji had run into a police checkpoint in Onitsha, as a passenger on a commercial motorcycle with army uniforms. This had aroused the suspicion of policemen, who quickly took him into custody. A few days later, he was paraded along with 18 other kidnappers and robbers at a press conference organized by the Anambra State Police Commissioner, Amusa Bello, with Governor Peter Obi in attendance.

Meanwhile, Orji has made a startling revelation on the activities of kidnappers. He revealed in a confessional statement to the police, which also in video, that his group had set a policeman ablaze as well as killed, roasted and ate another victim. He revealed that his group received financial and material support from an Nnewi-based businessman (name withheld), who drafted a hit list for them.

The 28-year-old Orji, from Ebonyi State, said: “I am in charge of this gang operating under MASSOB. I schooled at Asaokpa Aja Primary School Over-rail from 1788 to 1994. I also schooled at Eziama High School, Aba from 1995 to 1999. I later learned tailoring work for a year under one Emelike at Jiakpu Street, Over-rail, Aba. When I finished learning, I worked for him for some time on payment basis.

After I was appointed the Commandant to be training MASSOB members on military parade from one province to another. Before the gang and I left for Edda, one army officer was training us at Ojoto (in Anambra) on military tactics. While at the Ojoto camp, one Ikechukwu, whose surname I don’t know, with one MASSOB chairman whose name I do not know but hails from Awka, brought N400,000.00, saying they went round collecting money from one chief (name withheld) and that the N400,000 was what they realized fAfter our stay at Ojoto, we then moved to an abandoned prison yard at Nnewi. At Nnewi, the army officer with us called Chukwuebuka led our boys on morning jogging and therein burnt down Nnewi Central Police Station. They also killed some policemen and snatched two AK 47 rifles. Later in the day, the police invaded our camp and scattered us. Chukwuebuka, who hails from Ideani (in Anambra), ran with one of the AK 47 rifles snatched from the police at CPS, Nnewi. We later regrouped at Edda, in Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. It was at Edda that Ejiofor, one of our members, asked me how much Ikechukwu brought from chief and I told him that it was N400,000.00. He said that the chief gave us N1 million, and not N400,000.000. I then called Ikechukwu and relayed the information I heard, and he denied same and I gave him two weeks to bring the balance of the money (N600,000). I insisted that he should bring the balance. When he failed to bring the balance, I instructed Ejiofor to go and arrest the chief who gave the money.

The chief’s arrest and kidnap of Chinese

Ejiofor went on the mission with nine other members. He was arrested and I asked how much he gave to us and he said that it was N1million and not N400,000.

When chief asked us what he would do to secure his freedom. I told him to pay N50million, but he said that he could only give us N20million, as he had no much money. He thereafter called his manager to look for the money. Chief instructed his manager to bring the N20million with one of his vehicles.

In the process, Chief said that he was not the only one to be arrested. Chief gave a list of names to Ejiofor who brought same to me. I can only remember three names for now: The Chairman of Innoson Group (Chief Innocent Chukwuma), and the owner of Capital Oil, Nnewi. There were about seven names on the list, but I can only remember these names I mentioned above.

After the release of Chief, about two months and some weeks, we went for the arrest of the (chairman of) Innoson Group. It was Ejiofor who led the operation. My group went to Innoson Group, but missed their target, but they arrested two Chinese men with one black man and brought them to the camp. We later released the black man on payment of N10million and he promised to bring more N10million for the release of the two white men. Suddenly, the Nigerian Army attacked us at the Edda camp. Some of us were killed, arrested and some ran away. I escaped with the two white men and with some of my members. After two days, we got to Erei, where I disguised myself, by giving one of the white men my uniform and putting on his own dress.

I then handed over the two Chinese men to one Okpai, Incredible and Miliki, to take care of them while I left to search for food. I left with three of my members to search for the food. The names of those who went with me were Ogbuebuke, Garbros and Ishmael. As we were going towards Ohofia area, the Nigerian Army pursued us and we ran into the bush. We were inside the bush for about three days and we later found our way out. I later learnt that my boys I left behind at Erei had been scattered by the Nigerian soldiers. I was also informed that the Nigerian Army had rescued one of the white men.

After three to four months, I asked Miliki and Incredible about the remaining white man. They told me that the remaining white man died from cold occasioned by three-day rain that fell on them and that he was buried at Edda, in Afikpo South LGA of Ebonyi State.

Edda camp

From the money we realized, five of us married from it. They are Sunday, Diwila Living Stone, Heavy Stone and Innocent. I do also paid my boys N20,000 every month and also gave money to take care of their family problems when such arose. The structure of the camp at Edda was as follows: The Centre building was known as Defence Headquarters and it was where I used to stay; X1 – This sector is headed by our armourer called G.O.D. and the said armourer is now deceased. He died while preparing explosives, which went off in the process; X 2 – this sector is headed by Ejiofor; X3 – this sector is headed by Miliki.

All the sectors will report daily events to Okpai, who will, in turn, report to me as the General. It was the army officer by name Ike, with one other boy, simply called Abala, that led me to one Emeka at Abala, where I bought eight G.3 rifles at the cost price of N200,000 and one revolver pistol I also bought for N100,000 each. I also bought the seed (the bullets) for N300 each and I bought 1,000 pieces.

I do not know where the dead Chinese man was buried at Ugwufe Edda. It was Incredible, Bruce Bunker, Papa Wamba, Francis, None and Onyema that can know where the dead Chinese was buried as I left him with them at Erei. The Erei is located between Ohofia and Cross-River.”

My waterloo

Ike, an Army officer based at Lagos, called me on phone, informing me of the death of his mother in-law. He requested that I should accompany him to the burial at Nteje. I then left Aba and met him at Upper Iweka. He then called one Sunday who told him that he was at Obodo Ukwu road. He brought some army uniforms from his bag and told me that he bought them for us to regroup. He gave me the uniforms and instructed that I should hand over the unsowed and sowed uniforms to the said Sunday at Obodo Ukwu. He said Sunday resides at Obodo Ukwu Road, Okpoko (Onitsha). I told him that police were too many on the road and that he should talk to Sunday by himself, but he said that wherever I was arrested by the police I should call him. As I was going on top of a motorcycle the police stopped us at Upper Iweka and I called him. He told me that he was called on phone that his pregnant wife had major operation and that he was on his way back to Lagos. He called an army officer at Onitsha to come and rescue me. Before the arrival of the soldier, I had been transferred to this place. I know too well that I have been declared wanted for series of crimes I took part.

Why I joined MASSOB

Yes, I wanted to join the Nigerian Army, but I was blocked by lack of what we the Igbo call ‘IM’ (ima mmadu). I was fit, in terms of training, in terms of race, in terms of anything, I was very, very fit, but at the end of the whole thing, due to some people knew the high-rank officers, and I did not know anyone, my name was out of the game. I tried it two good times, no way before Mr. Chima introduced me to MASSOB, and I said if that is the case, if Biafra could be actualized, I would be one of the Biafran solders.

I doff my hat for the police

I am very, very proud of the Nigerian Police. How they did the investigation of this my case marvelled me. It is not good to judge any man by hearing from one man. Make sure the two persons are there before you judge. I have been here for some days, and in this my case, I have seen how serious the police are with the investigation and the seriousness with which my I.P.O. and co-officers have been taking my statement. Right inside me, from my heart, I know I have sinned against heaven, against God. I have sinned against the angels, and even against the land. I am not even worthy to live, but if there is any way they will allow me to live, let them put me straight in the police and I will work. I thank God that I have been arrested. I was declared wanted, but I could not just come out like that.

Charms

The one that I wear on my neck is for my protection, so that nobody will arrest me. Other ones are ordinary rings. Razor was used to put marks on our bodies for successful travel so that nobody can arrest us.

Killing of policeman

Yes, a policeman was thrown into a fire by Ike. It was done by Ike u, the Nigerian Army operator.

Another man roasted, eaten

That is correct. A man was roasted and eaten. I went to Aba to buy some food items. By the time I came back, I got the information that one man was killed and eaten. And our native doctor whose name is Eni from Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, roasted the man and ate him. But, it was not only Eni that ate the man. It was Eni, his master, and another man called Onunu Ekwensu.

Women in kidnap business

We have many women, but in this particular security of a thing, that is BLF (Biafra Liberation force), there are no women.

Our arms

The first guns we had were double-barrelled guns. The first one was given to us by one Sunday and the other one was given to us by one reverend, Reverend Ekeh. We got the guns to keep on the movement, thinking that that was the way Biafra would be actualized. Today, I thank God that I have known everything. If my life will be spared, I must be a policeman.

Religion / Tb Joshua Predicted The Death Of Michael Jackson Says Musician Teemac Omatshola by abasifo(m): 7:10pm On Jul 02, 2009
TB JOSHUA PREDICTED THE DEATH OF MICHAEL JACKSON says musician TEEMAC Omatshola asked Marlon Jackson to bring him to Ejigbo

The prophetic reputation of Pastor TB Joshua attained new heights with the recent revelation that he foretold the sudden death of the iconic pop legend, Michael Jackson…

Shock and sympathy are still reverberating around the world since the news broke on Thursday 25th June that Michael Jackson, the undisputed ‘King Of Pop’ had died suddenly after collapsing in his L.A apartment. However, his death had been foretold months earlier by a popular Nigerian Prophet, TB Joshua.

In January this year, Joshua prophesied during one of his famous Sunday services, broadcast live on Emmanuel TV: “I’m seeing a great star whom the world is shouting, “Hey, hey, hey!” In his own area, he’s famous – he’s known everywhere. He is great – too great… I see something will begin to happen to that star and that may likely end in him packing his load and going on the journey of no return…”

A month later, he clarified that the person concerned was not from his local environ and was ‘too young to leave your midst’ – enjoining the congregants and viewers worldwide to pray earnestly for this 'great star', believing for the will of God to be done.
Although some may view his words as too generic to be accredited to the legendary entertainer, the revelation of Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli on Sunday 28th June 2009, the famous flautist, business associate of Marlon Jackson and close friend of the Jackson family, put asunder such doubts. Joshua knew clearly who he was referring to.
Marlon who recently started a "Remember Slavery Resort" in badagry Lagos and was embroiled in controversy by the british press over this was not available for comments.
In a sober atmosphere, Tee Mac spoke in front of a live television audience on Emmanuel TV, testifying that Prophet TB Joshua had told him to warn Michael Jackson of an impending health disaster, and invite him to visit Nigeria for healing.

“The man of God (TB Joshua) called me to his office and said to me, ‘Please, tell your friend Marlon to bring Michael here to Nigeria. Michael needs healing; he needs deliverance.’ I told the man of God that Michael Jackson just went for a medical check up because he is going to have about 50 concerts soon. But the man of God said to me, ‘Send Michael here – he needs healing.’ ” Tee MAC

When the tragic news broke, “what immediately came to my mind was that the man of God told me something’s going to happen,” Tee Mac reminisced. Clearly remorseful, he lamented that if he had taken the message more seriously and acted with more insistence, “maybe Michael Jackson would still be alive today…”

Utilising the occasion to reflect on life, TB Joshua asked the audience in a heartfelt message: “If today were your last day on earth, what would people remember you for? What would generations yet unborn read about you?’ He encouraged the people to live each day as if it were their least, and avoid the burden of unnecessary worry and anxiety. “Let us leave tomorrow’s trouble for the One who bore our troubles on the cross,” he remarked.
MARLON JACKSON

As well as speaking on major world events, Joshua regularly prophesies to individuals that throng his flourishing church in Lagos, with uncanny accuracy. His recent prophecies include the death of the former South Korean president, the Feb 13 plane crash in New York and the release of Ingrid Betancourt from the Colombian jungle last year.

His ministry is attracting a growing fanatical following, particularly across Africa, and many African leaders such as John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana regularly frequent his church for spiritual support and guidance.

Nigeria: President Yar'Adua Says he Is Happy With Militants Position.

FEW days after the declaration of amnesty to the Niger Delta militants, President Umaru Musa Yar’adua has commended the militants that have so accepted to lay down their arms and stop violent activities in the interest of peace and stability of the region and the country at large.

President Yar’adua, who was speaking at the Ibrahim Babangida Square during the presentation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag to Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State last Saturday, expressed optimism that the amnesty being extended to the militants in the Niger Delta region would solve the lingering crisis in the region and called on the all militant leaders to embrace it, declaring that he was happy and grateful that most of the militants had come out to lay down their arms and agreed stop the violence in the region.

A highly elated President said, “I thank God for this favour on Nigeria. I thank the militants for accepting this and for being patriotic enough to understand and accept the amnesty for the greater benefit of the country,” and called on citizens particularly, those who were aggrieved in one way or the other, to come forward and identify with his government, assuring that his administration would provide the necessary atmosphere for every one to participate in building the nation.

The President said: “Let’s work hard and exert ourselves to see that Nigeria becomes one of the best economies in the year 2020. My government will continue to ensure peace and harmony and provide the enabling environment for this transformation.”

Chelsea ponder appeal against UEFA punishment
Chelsea will consider their next move after UEFA came down hard on them for their angry reaction to going out of the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona last month.

Didier Drogba is booked for arguing with Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo

While the official line is that they will take their time to decide upon their next move, it is thought they will appeal due to the severity of the punishment handed down to Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa.

Drogba will miss the first four games of the group stage next season, with another two matches suspended. Bosingwa has been banned for three matches with one suspended. Chelsea were fined £85,000 for the improper conduct of their players and missile throwing by their supporters.

Drogba and Bosingwa were facing charges of being in breach of the principles of sportsmanship by insulting the referee by making offensive comments. Drogba harangued Ovrebo after the final whistle and called the Norwegian ''a f***ing disgrace'' on live television, while Bosingwa told Portuguese TV station RTP: "I do not know if he is a referee or a thief. There are no words to describe the person that was on the pitch here.''

Chelsea have until Saturday to officially lodge an appeal against the decision.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been banned for four European matches by UEFA following his verbal assault on referee Tom Henning Ovrebo, with a further two-game ban suspended for two years.

Didier Drogba is booked for arguing with Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo

The incident came at the end of Chelsea's dramatic exit from the Champions League against Barcelona. The Blues had four penalty appeals turned down during the semi-final second leg 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa has been banned for three matches, with a further one-match ban suspended. Both players face a two year probationary period, during which time the suspended bans can be called into force.

Both players later apologised for their reactions.

UEFA have also fined Chelsea £85,000 for the improper conduct of their players and missile throwing by their supporters.

The club and players have three days in which to lodge an appeal. A spokesman for Chelsea said: "We are considering our response.''

Chelsea were knocked out in dramatic circumstances when Barcelona's Andres Iniesta scored a crucial away goal in stoppage time to equalise Michael Essien's opener, leading to a furious reaction from Chelsea players to Ovrebo who waved away several penalty claims for the home side.

UEFA spokesman Rob Faulkner said the sanctions were "fairly strict but appropriate".

"We have to set certain standards," Faulkner told BBC Radio Five. "We do have a 'Respect' campaign and the UEFA president (Michel Platini) is instrumental behind that.

"The players are key to that, in setting a good example both on and off the pitch. The club obviously has a responsibility for the way their players behave as well.

"All in all, that's the reasoning for the decision."

OBNOXIOUS:

Long Long Hissssssssssssssss!

Psssssssssssssssssssssssffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angry

All these stupid 3 letter words is to show how daft and dense the man is in a relationship. The woman will so ride you badly if you tell her any of this crap. She will know your a first class weakling and will continue to trample upon him. Rather, the Man should learn to use these words every now and them to control the realtionship and show who is truely the head of the house:

1. Shut the f***k up

2. Are you Stupid

3. Are you Mad

4. Get out of here

5. Where is my food

6. Dont touch my wallet

7. Wash my clothes

8. sit down here

9. What's your Problem now

10. I am going to beat the shi**t outta ya!

These words drive fear and respect in any woman and in most situations makes the home very stable. A woman who is used to a soft husband that cares so much for her will turn into a demon and use it against him. So men should be wiser and follow the above quotes for a stable and more effect relationship.

Niccolo Machaivelli said "Its better to be feared than loved" Its thiss principle men have used for centuries to dominate and subdue woman and this pattern should be followed!

The Most Powerful 3 Words Phrases

The following three-word phrases can enrich every relationship. These are just three little But Very Powerful words:

I'll Be There

If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle of the night, to take a sick child to hospital, or when your car has broken down some miles from home, you will know how good it feels to hear the phrase " I'll be there. " Being there for another person is the greatest gift we can give. When we're truly present for other people, important things happen to them & us. We are renewed in love and friendship. We are restored emotionally and spiritually. Being there is at the very core of civility.

I Miss You

Perhaps more marriages could be saved & strengthened if couples simply & sincerely say to each other "I miss you." This powerful affirmation tells partners they are wanted, needed, desired & loved. Consider how ecstatic you would feel, if you received an unexpected phone call from your spouse in the middle of your workday, just to say "I miss you."

I Respect You / I Trust You

Respect and trust is another way of showing love. Its conveys the feeling that another person is a true equal. If you talk to your children as if they were adults you will strengthen the bonds & become close friends. This applies to all interpersonal relationships

Maybe You're Right

This phrase is highly effective in diffusing an argument and restoring frayed emotions. The flip side to "maybe you're right" is the humility of admitting maybe "I'm wrong". Let's face it. When you have a heated argument with someone, all you do is cement the other person's point of view. They, or you, will not change their stance and you run the risk of seriously damaging the relationship between you. Saying "maybe you're right" can open the door to further explore the subject, in which you may then have the opportunity to get your view across in a more rational manner.

Please Forgive Me

Many broken relationships could be restored and healed if people would admit their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. All of us are vulnerable to faults and failures. A man should never be ashamed to own up that he has been in the wrong, which is saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.

I Thank You

Gratitude is an exquisite form of courtesy. People who enjoy the companionship of good, close friends are those who don't take daily courtesies for granted. They are quick to thank their friends for their many expressions of kindness. On the other hand, people whose circle of friends is severely constricted often do not have the attitude of gratitude.

Count On Me

A friend is one who walks in when others walk out. Loyalty is an essential ingredient for true friendship; it is the emotional glue that bonds people. Those that are rich in their relationships tend to be steady and true friends. When troubles come, a good friend is there indicating "you can count on me."

Let Me Help

The best of friends see a need and try to fill it. When they spot a hurt they do what they can to heal it. Without being asked, they pitch in and help.

I Understand You

People become closer and enjoy each other more if they feel the other person accepts and understands them. Letting your spouse know in so many little ways that you understand them, is one of the most powerful tools for healing relationship. This applies to any relationship.

Go For It

We are all unique individuals. Don't try to get your friends to conform to your ideals. Support them in pursuing their interests, no matter how weird they seem to you. Everyone has dreams, dreams that are unique to that person only. Support and encourage your friends to follow their dreams. Tell them to "go for it."

I Love You cheesy cheesy

Perhaps the most important three words that you can say. Telling someone that you truly love them satisfies a person's deepest emotional needs. The need to belong, to feel appreciated and to be wanted. Your spouse, your children, your friends and you, all need to hear those three little words "I love you."
Crime / Korean Gang Rape Nigerian Female House Keeper by abasifo(m): 1:40pm On Jun 18, 2009
Two Koreans at the Mbiama base of a popular Korean firm, Daewoo Nigeria Limited, Rivers State, are at the center of a sex scandal that is now a subject matter before an Ahoada Magistrate Court in the state.

One of them, Mr. Moon, is the company’s General Manager, Engineering and Construction.
Their accuser is Miss Juliet Agada, an erstwhile housekeeper employed by one of the company’s contractors, Ekine and Davids, who alleged that her sack was as a result of her failure to satisfy the sexual demands of the Koreans, Messrs Moon and Jang.

Juliet’s lawyer, Mrs. Hilda Desmond-Ihekaire, is demanding a whopping N44million from the Koreans.
The girl is also urging the Ahoada Magistrate Court to issue a warrant of arrest against the two accused expatriates.

Induced ejaculation
In one of the two sworn affidavits in support of her case, Juliet alleged that in the course of performing her duties, Mr. Moon sexually harassed her, “on many occasions”.
Citing a specific incident, she deposed that on November 7 last year, “Mr. Moon sexually harassed me again by forcing me against my wish to massage him until he ejaculated,” adding that when she resisted him, he threatened to instigate her sack.

Black monkey
Alleging further that, “Mr. Moon always called me a black monkey who should be grateful that he asked me to massage him,” Juliet stated that, “Mr. Moon had been using me as his intimacy gadget by compelling me to do all sorts of things to assuage his sexual appetite.”
In the case of Mr. Jang, the sacked Housekeeper deposed that, “from the time I started this work, Mr. Jang has been making inordinate sexual demands on me.”

Two dollars per round
She recalled that on September 18, 2007, the Korean gave her two dollars for sex with him and when she failed to keep an evening appointment that day, he gave her extra N5,000 the next day, “and demanded to sleep with me instantly.”

Brutal sex
She further averred that in spite of her plea that he allows her “a little time to come back later (sic) in the day,” he locked the door, “pulled down his
trousers, held my hands and tried to force himself on me.”
But according to the girl, she managed to open the door and fled.
She alleged that the Korean later came back demanded his money, threatening to deal with her, “by all means”.

Disowned
However, in their separate sworn affidavits in support of a motion filed by the Koreans through their lawyer Dennis Otiotio, four former colleagues of Juliet at the Base, Miss Mercy Ekine, Miss Sueiza Garris, Miss Joy Ekine and the camp boss, Mr. Okah Emmanuel, denied the allegations against the Koreans, stressing that Juliet never complained to them of any sexual harassment or assault by the Koreans.

Theft allegation
Instead, they alleged that her sack was due to, “series of complaints of theft in Camp A” where she served, an allegation the complainant equally denied.
Also, the landlord to Daewoo and owner of the contractor-firm that employed Juliet for the housekeeping job at the Base, Chief Okari Ekine, stated that throughout the period she worked in the camp, Juliet “never told me as her employer, that she was been (sic) sexually harassed or assaulted” by the Koreans.
The trial Magistrate, Mrs. Kariba Draids, fixed Tuesday, March 4, for further hearing of the matter.

Crime / Militants Blew Up Police Station, Burn Ruler's Palace by abasifo(m): 1:37pm On Jun 18, 2009
Militants Blew Up Police Station, Burn Ruler's Palace.

Armed youths invaded Bonny Island, an oil and gas export hub in Rivers State in the early hours of yesterday, shooting sporadically before burning down a police post and the palace of the traditional ruler, King Edward Pepple the Amayanabo of Bonny Kingdom .

State police commissioner Felix Ogbaudu who confirmed the report, said the gunmen also used dynamite in the attack, which happened between 2 am and 5 am

He could not confirm if anyone was killed or injured during the attack in the city which serves as headquarters of the multi-billion-dollar Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Company (NLNG).

The security experts working for an oil major and a construction company said the raid took place in the middle of the night near the main jetty on Bonny and several vehicles were torched. The attackers fled in speedboats before dawn.

"Armed men attacked and razed the marine police building at the Bonny main jetty. Several vehicles were also torched," one of the security experts said.

He said the attackers were thought to be members of a local group that had recently written to state and federal authorities complaining that oil company funds meant for development of the region had been diverted by politicians.

The authorities had tried to negotiate with community chiefs to avert a crisis, but the attempt failed and local youths threatened attacks.

Such conflicts are frequent in the Niger Delta, home to Africa’s biggest oil industry which produces 2.1 million barrels per day.

Under corporate social responsibility programmes, oil firms provide funding for what they say are development programmes, but human rights activists say the money often gets used to pay off extortion racketeers, or is pocketed by politicians.

Competition for oil money has fuelled many local wars between communities in the delta and numerous revenge attacks on police and troops, seen as agents of a hostile state.

The reports, according to Reuters, did not suggest that any oil and gas facilities had been damaged. Royal Dutch Shell has an oil export terminal at Bonny and the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas company has its installations there.Mi

An American, Mr. Sean Alsilski, was seen hawking gala sausage rolls yesterday, at the Ojota area of Lagos state.

He easily drew a large crowd as Lagosians laughed and wondered what could have made him to hawk gala in Lagos, and on a sunny day too.

But Alsilski, unperturbed by the people watching and giggling at him, continued to sell his stuff to motorists and passersby who were eager to buy from him, some just for the fun of it.

He rebuffed people trying to ask him why he was out in the streets selling gala, saying he was too busy to talk to anyone. After much prompting by this reporter, he opened up on why he was out selling gala on Lagos streets. Alsilski said he came to Lagos to carry out a six-month research project on hawking and street trading in Lagos, and the best way to get the answers that he wants was to get involved in the real business rather than be an observer.

He said he had already spent five months in Lagos, hawking gala at different parts of the state. “I am here to do a research on hawking and street trading. I was billed to be in Nigeria for six months as part of the Full bright exchange programme. “I have been here for five months now, hawking. I have one month to go. I am going to give a presentation to the United States Embassy about my research,” said Alsilski. Born in the city of New York, the United States, Alsilski lamented that from what he has observed, government was harsh on hawkers and street traders.

“Hawkers here are under stress right now from the government and I am studying what the government is doing right now. We can make some recommendations. “Government is harsh on them. Some of them have had their goods taken away. I am not sure that is the best way to go about it. “In some cities, hawkers and traders are given licenses and allowed to go to certain areas to hawk. But hawkers should not be allowed to hawk in places like Oshodi,” he stated. Alsilski’s hawking business has taken him to Yaba, Ojuelegba, Mushin, Ojota, Mile 2, Apapa, Lagos Island and Agege

Culture / Origins Of The Vampire by abasifo(m): 7:36pm On Jun 16, 2009
Origins of the Vampire
How did vampires originate? If vampires did (or do) exist, where did they come from? The answers to these questions have varied widely as the vampire has appeared in the folklore of different countries and various fiction writers have speculated on the nature of vampirism.
The Folkloric Vampire: The vampire figure in folklore emerged as an answer to otherwise unsolvable problems within culture. The vampire was seen as the cause of certain unexplainable evils, accounted for the appearance of some extraordinary occurrences within the society, and was often cited as the end product of immoral behavior. The earliest vampires seem to have originated as an explanation of problems in childbirth. For example, the langsuyar -the primary vampire figure of Malaysia -was a beautiful young woman who had given birth to a stillborn child. Upon hearing of her child's fate, she clapped her hands and flew away into the trees. Henceforth, she attacked children and sucked their blood. A similar tale was told of the lamiai, the original vampire of Greece .
Just as tales of vampires were inspired by childbirth problems, they also originated from unusual circumstances surrounding births. Children who were different at birth were considered to be vampire candidates. For example, among the Kashubian (Polish) people, children born with a membrane cap on their heads or with two teeth were likely to become vampires unless dealt with properly while growing up.
Similarly, some vampires stories originated from problems surrounding the death of a loved one. In eastern Europe, vampires were individuals who returned from the grave to attack their spouses, their immediate families, and possibly other acquaintances in the village. Symptoms of vampiric attack included nightmares, apparitions of the dead, and the death of family members by a wasting disease (such as tuberculosis). Some of the symptoms point to the vampire as a product of the grieving process, especially the continued ties of the living to the dead, often taking the form of unfinished emotional business. Thus, vampires were seen as originating from the failure of the family (in a time before the existence of funeral parlors) to perform the funeral and burial rites with exacting precision. A common event that allegedly led to the creation of a vampire was allowing an animal such as a cat to jump over the body of a dead person prior to burial. Vampirism was also caused by unexpected and sudden violent deaths, either from accidents or suicides .
Suicides were also part of a larger class of vampires that existed as a result of the immoral behavior of the person who became a vampire. The vampire served as an instrument of social control for the moral leaders of the community. Thus, people who stepped outside of the moral and religious boundaries of the community not only jeopardized their souls, but might become vampires. A potential vampire committed evil acts, among them suicide, and anyone guilty of great evil, especially of an antisocial nature, was thought likely to become a vampire after death. In some Christian countries, notably Russia and Greece, heresy could also lead to vampirism. The heretic was one type of person who died in a state of excommunication from the church. Excommunication could be pronounced for a number of unforgiven sins from actions directly attacking the church to more common immoralities such as adultery or murder. Heresy was also associated in some cultures with witchcraft, defined as consorting with Satan and/or the working of malevolent antisocial magic. Witches who practiced their craft in their earthly lives might become vampires after their deaths.
Vampire Contamination: After the first vampire was created, a community of vampires might soon follow. When a particular vampire figure, such as the original lamiai, took its place in the mythology of a people as a lesser deity or demon, they sometimes multiplied into a set of similar beings. Thus, Greek mythology posed the existence of numerous lamiai, a class of demonic entities. They were assumed to exist as part of the larger supernatural environment and, as such, the question of their origin was never raised. Also, such demonic entities did not create new vampires by attacking people. Their victims might suffer either physical harm or death as the result of the vampire's assault, but they did not become vampires.
Things were quite different in Eastern Europe. There, vampires were former members of the community. Vampires could draw other members of the community into their vampiric existence by contaminating former family and neighbors, usually by biting them. In the famous case of Arnold Paul, the vampiric state was passed by meat from cows that had been bitten by Paul.
The Literary Vampire: In the nineteenth century, the vampire figure was wrenched from its rural social context in eastern Europe and brought into the relatively secularized culture of western European cities. It was introduced into the romantic imagination of writers cut off from the mythological context in which the vampire originated. Those writers had to recreate a new context from the few bits of knowledge they possessed. In examining the few vampire cases at their disposal, most prominently the Arnold Paul case, they learned that vampires were created by people being bitten by other vampires.
The imaginary vampire of nineteenth-century romanticism was an isolated individual. Unlike the eastern European vampire, the literary vampire did not exist in a village culture as a symbol warning residents of the dangerous and devilish life outside the boundaries of approved village life. The imaginary vampire was a victim of irresistible supernatural attack. Against their wills, they were overwhelmed by the vampiric state and, much like drug addicts, forced to live lives built around their blood lust. The majority of beliefs associated with the origins of vampires were irrelevant to the creators of the literary vampire, although on occasion one element might be picked up to give a novel twist to a vampire tale.
Underlying much of the modern vampire lore was the belief that vampires attacked humans and, through that attack, drew victims into their world. Again, like drug addicts might share an addiction and turn others into addicts, so the vampire infected nonvampires with their condition. Writers have generally suggested that vampires primarily, if not exclusively, created new vampires by their bites. The radical simplification of the vampire myth can be seen in Dracula especially its treatment on the stage and screen. Stoker did not deal directly with the problem of Dracula's origin as a vampire. In Dr. Abraham Van Helsing famous speech in chapter 18, where he described in some detail the nature of the vampire, he suggested that Dracula became a vampire because he "had dealings with the Evil One." More importantly, however, was his ability to transform people into vampires. Dracula's bite was a necessary part of that transmission, but, of itself, not sufficient. Jonathan Harker was bitten a number of times by the three vampire women, but did not become a vampire. On the other hand, Lucy Westenra did turn into a vampire and Mina Murray was in the process of being transformed into a vampire when the men interrupted Dracula. In the key scene in chapter 21, Dracula, having previously drank Mina's blood, forced her to drink his. Thus, in Dracula new vampires originated not from the bite of the vampire but by an exchange of blood.
Bram Stoker had little material to draw upon in considering this point. The question was avoided by John Polidori in his original vampire story. Varney the Vampyre the subject of the 1840s novel, became a vampire as punishment for accidently killing his son, but the actual manner of transformation was not revealed. Sheridan Le Fanu was familiar with the folkloric tradition and suggested suicide as the cause of new vampires, but saw the death of a person previously bitten by a vampire as the basic means of spreading vampirism. His anti-heroine, Carmilla was the product of a vampire's bite.
In the rewriting of Dracula for screen and stage, the scene from the book during which Mina consumed Dracula's blood was deleted. It was considered too risqué, but without it some other means had to be found to transmit the vampiric state. Thus came the suggestion that merely the vampire's bite transmitted the condition-the common assumption in most vampire novels and movies. At times, vampires required multiple bites or the bite had to take enough blood to cause the death of the victim.
While most vampire books and movies have not dealt with the question of vampire origins apart from the passing of the vampiric condition through the bite of a preexisting vampire, occasionally writers have attempted to create a vampire myth that covers the origin of the first vampire. Among the more intriguing of recent origin stories was that told by Anne Rice in the third of her Vampire Chronicles , The Queen of the Damned Akasha and her husband Enkil ruled as queen and king of ancient Egypt. At one point Akasha had two witches, Maharet and Mekere, brought to her court. They allowed her to see the world of spirits, but then one of the spirits, Amel, attacked her. Akasha turned on the two witches and in her rage ordered them raped publicly and then banished. However, both Akasha and Enkil were intrigued by the spirit world and began to explore it on their own. Meanwhile, an uprising occurred and the rulers were seriously wounded. Akasha's soul escaped from her body temporarily only to encounter the spirit Amel who joined himself to her. Her soul reentered her body and brought Amel with it. Fused with her brain and heart, the presence of Amel turned her into a vampire. She, in turn, passed the vampiric condition to Enkil and to their steward Khayman by the more traditional bite. All other vampires in the book, who originated from a vampire's bite, have a lineage that can ultimately be traced to these three first vampires.
The Vampire Bat: In chapter 12 of Dracula, Bram Stoker suggested, but did not develop, the idea that vampire bats might ultimately be the cause of vampirism. Quincey P. Morris delivered a brief oration on his encounter with vampire bats in South America . Although vampire bats made numerous appearances in vampire lore-primarily as humans temporarily transformed into animal form-few writers developed the idea of vampirism originating with vampire bats.
Most prominent among the few stories in which vampirism originated with a bat was Dark Shadows The Dark Shadows storyline, took Barnabas Collins back to 1795 to his origin as a vampire. Spurning the witch Angelique's love for him, Barnabas wound up in a fight with her and shot her. Wounded and near death, she cursed Barnabas and a bat attacked him. He died from the bite and arose from the grave as a vampire. Subsequently, Barnabas created other vampires in the common manner-by biting them and draining their blood to the point of death.
The Science Fiction Vampire: A final option concerning the origin of vampires was derived from science fiction. As early as 1942 in his short story "Asylum," A. E. van Vogt suggested that vampires were an alien race who originated in outer space. The most successful of the comic book vampires, Vampirella was a space alien. She originated on the planet Drakulon and came to earth to escape her dying planet. Ultimately, in the Vampirella storyline, even Dracula was revealed to be an alien.
Science fiction also suggested a second origin for the vampire: disease. Not incompatible with either vampire bats or outer space aliens, disease (either in the form of germs or altered blood chemistry) provided a nonsupernatural explanation of the vampire's existence-an opinion demanded by many secularized readers or theater-goers. Disease explained the vampire's strange behavior, from its nocturnal existence to the "allergy" to garlic to its blood lust. This idea was explored most prominently in Richard Matheson's I Am Legend.
In the end, however, the science fiction space vampire was like its supernatural cousin. Whatever its origin, the vampire was the bearer-at least potentially-of its condition to anyone it attacked, and the vampire's bite was the most common way to spread vampirism.

Subject: A Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife for reading the Bible

A Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife because she was reading the Bible and then buried her with their infant baby and an 8 year old daughter.

The girls were buried alive! then He reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 days later, another family member died. When they went to bury him, they found the 2 little girls under the sand - ALIVE!

The country is outraged over the incident, and the man will be executed.

The older girl was asked how she had survived and she says 'A man wearing shiny clothes, with bleeding wounds in his hands, came every day to feed us. He woke up my mom so she could nurse my sister,' she said.

She was interviewed on Egyptian National TV, by availed Muslim woman news anchor. She said on public TV, 'This was none other than JESUS, because nobody else does things like this!'

Muslims believe Isa (JESUS) would do this, but the wounds mean He really was crucified, and it's clear also that He is alive! But, it's also clear that the child could not make up a story like this, and there is no way these children could have survived without a true miracle. Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure out what to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie doesn't help! With Egypt at the centre of the media and education in the Middle East , you can be sure this story will spread.

Christ is still turning the world upside down! Please let this story be shared. The Lord says, 'I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.' Jeremiah 17.

BLACK PEOPLE, PLEASE, READ & HEED. POIGNANT!!!

The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true.
The truth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion
towards making real progress. Chris Rock, a Black comedian, even joked
that Blacks don't read.

Help prove them wrong! Read and pass on.

Please Note:

For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES
We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of
physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they
use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.

Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once
said, 'The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it
in a book.' We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the
opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of
their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous
books readily available at Borders, Barnes &Noble, and Amazon.com, not
to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to
reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all
along), but few read consistently, if at all,

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the
abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their
disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas,
out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).

Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture
we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it.
Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed.
They continually want more, with little thought for saving or
investing.

They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a
business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or
FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house
gives them 'Status' or that they have achieved their Dream.

They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty
because their greed holds them back from collectively making better
communities.

With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often
broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue
to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has
even jeered them, saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how
the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They'll continue to
show off to each other while we build solid communities with the
profits from our businesses that we market to them.

SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the
major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois
said that there was an innate division in their culture. A 'Talented
Tenth' he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are
segments of their culture that has achieved some 'form' of success.

However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't
read that the 'Talented Tenth' was then responsible to aid The
Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life, Instead, that
segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on
their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never
achieve what we have, Their selfishness does not allow them to be
able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When
they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way
of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to
promote their name without making any real change in their community.

They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels,
and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best
speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness?
They steadfastly refuse to see that Together Each Achieves More
(TEAM).

They do not understand that they are no better than each other because
of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but
one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the
control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.

Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read,
continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are
'helping' their communities by paying dues to organizations which do
little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way,
don't worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, 'THEY
DON'T READ!!!!

It's Up To You!

Throughout the Scriptures, God reveals to us just how important and powerful prophecy is. One of such portions of Scripture is found in the thirty-seventh chapter of the book of Ezekiel:

"The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest" (Ezekiel 37:1-3).

God took Ezekiel to a valley full of dry bones. There were dead men's bones everywhere, as far as the eyes could see all over that open valley. And in Ezekiel's description, the bones were very dry indeed. Then God asked Ezekiel a pointed question, "Can these bones live?" In other words, "Can things change here?" Ezekiel looked around and probably thought to himself, "It looks really bad here, I doubt that they can," but he replied, "Well, Lord, Thou knowest!"

He was telling God in other words, "You only know if they can live or not. It's up to you to decide! If you want them to live, they'll live. If you don't want them to live, they won't." He threw the ball right back in God's court! The Lord's response was very instructive. He told him, "It's not up to Me, Ezekiel; it's up to you to do something about these bones and see to it that they live!" God then told him what to do. He said,

"…Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:" (Ezekiel 37:4-6). God told Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones and tell them, "Oh ye dry bones, hear the Word of the Lord. God's going to cause breath to come into you and you shall live!" God was teaching Ezekiel how to change things through prophecy, and He taught him exactly what to say in his prophecy.

"And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord."

Ezekiel saw that as he prophesied to the dry bones, something began to happen, so he prophesied some more as God taught him and gave him words to speak: "So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone" (Verses 6 & 7).

Can you picture this! Imagine this huge heap of bones with each bone shifting around, searching for its members, and joining together until they all formed human skeletons! What a great noise they must have made in that open valley! Understand what God is talking about here. He's letting you know you can prophesy to the things you want changed. You can also prophesy to God Himself.

Observe what He said: "Prophesy unto the wind." That wind represents the Spirit of God. He said, "Come from the four winds, O breath." The original Hebrew word rendered "breath" here can also be stretched to mean "breath of life," which is synonymous with the Holy Spirit of God.

Ezekiel 37:10: "So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath (of life) came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army."

Prophecy: The Spoken, Revealed Word of God
Prophecy is the spoken Word of God; it is the revealed Word of God by which He leads and guides His people. The man who prophesies speaks with the ability of God's Spirit.

When God said in Joel 2:28, "Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy," He meant that everybody in the Kingdom will have this ability of God to prophesy, to speak forth God's Word and cause it to come to pass. We'll all be able to bring about changes that will affect our lives and the lives of others around us positively.

What power, what great knowledge this is! How exciting to know you're not at the mercy of life's circumstances. If the life you have is not appealing to you, you can change it. You can control your destiny by the power of God made available to you through prophecy!
Some people don't believe this but it doesn't matter whether they believe it or not. God didn't say they must believe it; He says the one who believes is blessed but the one who doesn't is damned. So the choice is yours to make.

If you say you believe, what have you done so far with what you've believed? If you haven't done much with it, what you need to do is believe even more and make up your mind to put what you believe to work.

TV/Movies / Big Brother Africa Iv Unveils Without Shower Hour, Now People Will Sleep At Nigh by abasifo(m): 9:46pm On Jun 13, 2009
Big Brother Africa IV unveils without SHOWER HOUR, now people will sleep at night.

DESPITE raging controversies and much heated debate, M-Net's prime reality show, Big Brother Africa (BBA) is set to hit the airwaves with its 4th edition from the 6th of September to the 6th of December 2009. At the media launch of the BBA4 in Lagos at the weekend, Managing Director of M-Net Africa, Ms. Biola Adekambi, announced the return of the Big Brother Africa tagged 'The Revolution.'

With gusto, Adekambi told the packed crowd of journalists that the show is "set to change your expectations. The Big Brother is here again, but it is bigger and better." Announcing some of the new innovations added to the show, she said the number of participating countries has been increased from 12 to 14.

"We will be having housemates from Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Gambia, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, who will do some exciting things in the house, so our viewers across the continent of Africa can be consistently surprised and entertained for 91 days watching the house."

Top on the bill on sweeping changes to the reality show is the stripping of shower hour from BBA. "There will be no more shower hour and you will not see nudity throughout the show," came the shocking but expected declaration from M-Net.

"We are upping the prize money from USD100,000 to USD200,000, there will be no violence in the House which will have 40 hidden cameras and 100 microphones so viewers would not miss out any action. We look forward to the new season and we are doubling the entire package in the hope that we would double the fun too. We have also changed the voting style, instead of voting for the person you want out of House, you will now vote for the person you want to remain in the House."

The M-Net boss sweated it out explaining in concise details that BBA is not all about shower hour. "Yes, it is unique to us. There are a lot of Big Brother shows around the world without shower hour. So, as a way of revamping the show, we have decided to do away with it and be responsible in our broadcast so that there will not be anything that is offensive in our broadcast, but the fun of the show is not in the shower hour, it is in the conspiracy in the House.

"Viewers will be entertained to see what money can do and how it drives people into conspiracy, especially the fact that people who are coming from different backgrounds and countries and who don't know each other will have to live together for three months. The focus of the show is to bring entertainment to our viewers in close to 50 countries in Africa, it is not a talent search."

Explaining how the BBA will be exclusively monitored to prevent the scores of media displeasure that attended its last showing, Head Corporate Communications of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr. Segun Fayose said the BBA station, which is on Channel 198, would be scrambled. "BBA will not be available on DSTv, instead interested viewers will have to inform MultiChoice that they want to watch BBA by sending SMS to 08036393788 or send a mail to bba@multichoicenigeria.com . If you don't do that, you will not watch the show parents can also decide what their children want to watch by activating the Parental Control device."

The Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr Joseph Hundah, said the pay TV station was putting all these measures to avoid the deluge of disapproval the show generated the last time. "After spending a lot of time in Abuja last year talking to committee members of the House of Assembly and the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), we have decided to change the focus of the show and I can assure you that this time around, we have gotten their approval and blessing to continue with the show.

He however noted that pay television is a matter of choice, "you can choose to subscribe or not, and even with that, you can choose to block out any channel you don't want to watch with the use of parental control. But this time around, you can only watch BBA by choosing to call us or send an email to us that you want the show, which will be available on the premium and compact brocade."

49 Nigerians stole N143.6bn public funds - EFCC

FORTY-NINE Nigerians looted the nation’s treasury to the tune of N143.6 billion (One hundred and forty-three billion, six hundred million naira), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission revealed yesterday. Also, Chairman of the Commission, Mrs Farida Waziri, at an interactive session with journalists, in Abuja, to mark her first year in office yesterday said the court cases of some former governors were ongoing and that there was no letting up on efforts to prosecute former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili and Senator Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State. 49 Nigerians docked over N143bn fraud It has also come to light that 49 Nigerians are presently being prosecuted by the EFCC for fraud, totaling N143.6 billion.

This was contained in a list of “On-going High Profile Cases” made available by the anti-graft body yesterday. The high profile cases include that of some ex-governors. 11 of the fraud cases were commenced by former chairman of the anti-graft agency, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, while the incumbent boss of the EFCC, Mrs Farida Waziri has filed 20 fraud-related charges against suspects. Most of the suspects have been granted bail by the court. The suspects in the UBEC case where high profile public servants connived with an American, Alexander Cozman, to defraud the government are however still in the custody of the EFCC.

Some of the cases listed include the case against former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State at the Federal High Court, Lagos over N1.2 billion. Another case is against former Governor Joshua Dariye of Plateau State at the Federal High Court, Gudu. Also listed is the case of former Governor Saminu Turaki of Jigawa State at the Federal High Court, Maitama, over N36 billion. Also ongoing is the trial of former Governor Jolly Nyame of Taraba state over N180 million; the case against former Governor Michael Botmang of Plateau State over N1.5 billion. The ongoing trial of Mr Roland Iyayi, former Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) over N5.6 billion is also listed. The trial of Mr Eider George, an Ustalian Business man at the FCT High Court, Maitama over N5.6 billion and that of Mr Patrick Fernandez, an Indian Businessman whose trial is ongoing at the Federal High Court, Lagos over N32 billion fraud is also listed.

The trial of four Senior Managers of a bank over N3.6 billion at the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt is also one the cases listed by the EFCC. Also, the Rural Electrification Agency fraud case to the tune of N6.2 billion involving a serving Senator, three serving members of the House of Representatives, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power and other top public officers was listed. The suspects in the case include Senator Nicholas Ugbane, Mr Ndudi Elumelu, Mr Mohammed Jibo, Mr Paulinus Igwe, Mr Samuel Ibi, Dr Aliyu Abdullahi, Mr Simon Nanle, Mr Lawrence Orekoya, Mr Kayode Oyedeji and Mr Garba Jahun. According to the EFCC, charges have been filed against the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, but he is yet to put in an appearance. No letting up on Odili, Tinubu On former Governors Odili and Tinubu, Mrs Waziri said: “I inherited most of these case files and no file was at any time involving the governors was declared missing as reported by the press. Instead, we have been investigating and building on the files.” Answering specific questions on Dr Peter Odili and Senator Bola Tinubu both former governors of Rivers and Lagos states respectively, the EFCC boss said the Commission was working hard to drag them before the law court. According to her, “there was no time the case against Odili was dropped.

There was this obnoxious court order of perpetual injunction restraining us from prosecuting him but we have appealed against it. We have been contesting the obnoxious court order restraining us from prosecuting him. We have assigned the case to a SAN to try to vacate it.” On Tinubu, she said that the Commission was working on gathering evidence with which to establish a case against the former governor but admitted that certain words of her predecessor did not make that effort easy. Mrs. Waziri said she has been very sincere in handling her responsibilities in the last one year, adding, “I don’t have any basis to lie as posterity will judge me because in the last one year, what I have done is to build case files, analysing them and working day and night to ensure that suspects are arrested once a prima facie case is established.” Cases of ex-govs stalled in courts She, however, expressed frustrations at the delays corruption cases were suffering at the courts. Her words: “The cases of past governors are ongoing. They are in court. I have been crying hoarse that cases are stalled. This is the area that I expect you, the media, to assist me; to cry out with me.

Cases that were filed by my predecessor are still there in the courts. They are stalled, one way or the other. “I have told you many times why I feel the cases are stalled. If you have a bad case and you engage a lawyer whom you pay everything that you can pay and even from the charges drafted, he knows that if this case gets to its logical conclusion, he will end up in jail, they will do everything they can to forestall the trial and this is what is happening. The cases are not moving. “I told you that what some of these lawyers do is to first of all challenge the jurisdiction of the court. Even when it is clear that the high court has jurisdiction, then they go to the court of appeal to ask for a stay of execution, so the case is not moving at all. And the delay of trial has its own repercussions: witness fatigue, witnesses may die or move. “My job is to compile the case file, charge them to court and the next thing is to monitor the trials, to see whether on grounds of technicality, the investigation was thorough or something was missing; secondly to ensure that witnesses attend court and to ensure that exhibits are tendered. And that is where my job stops. I don’t go to the bench; I can’t do anything else. “This is what is frustrating us and I leave that to you.

You are Nigerians. If one arm of government is trying to solve this problem, you should highlight it; you should ask questions.” The EFCC boss stressed the need for all Nigerians to buy into the anti-corruption crusade, insisting, “all Nigerians are stakeholders in this crusade.” Reacting to the claims of civil right groups that the Commission had performed below expectations under her watch, Mrs. Waziri said: “I hate armchair critics who sit on the fence and criticise everybody’s efforts. This country belongs to us all, if they are given opportunity, they will steal this country silly because they suffer from the Pull Him Down Syndrome (PHD).” On the role of the banks, Waziri said “some of the banks report (suspected transactions) while others don’t, that is why we re-organised the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit to make it more proactive and responsive to strategic intelligence.” Estates built with stolen money to be confiscated On the allegation that politicians were building estates and the Commission is not beaming its searchlight on the property industry with a view to confiscating those built with looted public funds, she said that once the Non-Conviction Based Assets Forfeiture Bill was passed, she would move against ill-gotten estates.

Her words, “A lot of estates are springing up in Abuja. We are waiting for our Non-conviction Asset Forfeiture Bill to be passed then we will really go into that. Find out the owner of this estate, find out how he got the money to develop the estate. If you can’t, we investigate you, we take the property to court. It has nothing to do with the person. And we will take the property which will be forfeited to the government if you are unable to satisfactorily tell us how you came by that money. “If you say you got a loan from the bank, we will investigate that claim. If you say you inherited anything, we will investigate. We are waiting for this law. It is going to make a great difference because the incentive to steal will be lost. The incentive to acquire properties in the country or outside the country and acquire luxury cars will be lost. “Even the fact that some are developing the estates through proxies, companies or those that are developing properties using prominent individuals as partners notwithstanding, we are taking note of all of them.” The Chairman said the Commission secured 65 convictions and has recovered over N50 billion looted money. It has also developed the EagleClaw, a software designed to combat cybercrime and advance fee fraud (419) scam.

Like someone said in one of the comments "You can't turn a H*e into a Housewife". Who really cares about Jim Iyke and his side piece? , but then i read an interview where Jim Iyke is blasting Nigerian Women. Read Below: "I have nothing against the Nigerian woman.

As a matter of fact, I think some of the most beautiful women are in Nigeria, and indeed Africa in general. But I have made my choice, and my choice is a Jamaican woman, someone who has come to understand and appreciate me for who I am .

I do have my grouse with the Nigerian woman, though. Our women often go by the dictates and symbol of status, parental influence or pedigree as opposed to substance. I struggle hard to make them understand who I am, but I am always unsuccessful.

I am tired of that struggle. I have come to realize that it is better to deal with a foreign woman. With our women, you struggle to define yourself. Foreign women are willing to take you for who you are, as opposed to what you are, which our women tend to emphasize.

If I am in a relationship with a Nigerian, and I am seen outside chatting up another girl - innocently, with no strings attached, I will have a lot of explanation to make to gain back her trust - even though I have nothing romantic to do with that woman.

It’s always a struggle to prove that you are not the person the society has defined you to be, and I am really tired of that struggle." So as you can see, Jim Iyke has a problem with Nigerian women being "normal" and having "dignity" so what does he do? Get himself a girl that's pretty much been around the block (few times). Mohammed Buba Marwa delivered the letter bomb that Killed Dele Giwa” -- Dr. Taiyemiwo Ogunade

“Mohammed Buba Marwa delivered the letter bomb that Killed Dele Giwa” -- Dr. Taiyemiwo Ogunade

Mohammed Marwa
On Sunday, Professor Taiyemiwo Ogunade gave a bombshell interview to the NATION newspaper in which he made startling revelations about those who killed Dele Giwa in 1986. In a subsequent chat with Saharareporters, he spoke specifically about the role of former military administrator of Lagos State Buba Marwa in the assassination of the journalist.

Dr. Ogunade disclosed that soldiers loyal to the slain General Mamman Vatsa identified Marwa as the person who delivered the parcel bomb that killed Giwa, the Newswatch magazine founder.
He said the revelation came from a confidential discussion he had with one of the military boys who came to the City University of New York (CUNY) to press the college to train Nigerian military officials in “Peace and Conflict Resolution”. He said that Vatsa gave a four-hour long testimony to the military tribunal that tried and later sentenced him to death for a phantom coup plot against former military dictator, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

Saharareporters: Do you know who delivered the bomb that killed Dele Giwa?

Ogunade: I believe that Buba Marwa did it. Some Mamman Vatsa boys told the full story in New York during a visit to my college to lobby our college to accept to train Nigerian military officers. Ambassador Olusola was on that entourage. [My informant] told me Dele Giwa was killed because he was in possession of a tape containing Vatsa’s testimony before the military tribunal. For four hours, Vatsa requested to tell the full story about how the Babangida regime was operating and his knowledge of the workings of IBB’s mind. He pointed out that after Halilu Akilu and Col. A.K Togun of the military intelligence prepared the parcel it was handed over to Buba Marwa to deliver to Dele Giwa. Marwa is a well–known “IBB boy”. But I was the one who gave Dele Giwa the tape.

Saharareporters: How did you get the tape?

Ogunade: Vatsa had a copy made by his friends in the tribunal and smuggled out to me and I “loaned” it to Dele Giwa who got on the case immediately. I still don’t know how Dele Giwa found out that I had the tape till this day.

Saharareporters: Do you still have a copy?
Ogunade: Yes, but you know I left Nigeria hurriedly after the death of Dele Giwa. I left [the tape] with my aged mother, who did not know the value then. I won’t say more, let the military release that tape to the Nigerian public.

Saharareporters: Did Dele Giwa return the tape to you?

Ogunade: Yes, he returned it after 24 hours. Don’t forget that I loaned it to him; I think he went and played it to Babangida’s people and they eliminated him after they heard the tape.

Saharareporters: What about Gloria Okon? It’s been said that Dele Giwa’s discovery of her was the reason he was killed?

Ogunade: Gloria Okon is actually Chinyere, that’s her real name. She married Charles "Jeff" Chandler, the fellow who killed Nzeogwu and was killed a day later. Chinyere, Maryam and Princess Atta were young friends who hung out together. They all married into the military, because the military was a proud and respectable profession then. Charles Chandler, who was Tiv, married Chinyere who I think is from Imo State. IBB married Maryam from Asaba and Mamman Vatsa married the princess. So Chinyere became a widow and resorted to trading between UK and Nigeria. And then she was caught with drugs; Mamman Vatsa was the person who put Chinyere on the next available flight from Kano to London – and then claimed that she was dead by parading a dead woman picked out of the mortuary. Dele Giwa later found out that she was in London having delivered a baby by another man. He sent a French photographer to the place and they saw Maryam Babangida at the event. Kayode Soyinka brought back the photographs.
Dele was sitting across the table from Kayode examining the photos taken of “Gloria Okon” (Chinyere, Richard Chandler’s wife) at the naming ceremony in London. Maryam Babangida was there. And then a letter parcel was delivered to him and he said excitedly that it must be from “Mr. President” referring to the discussions he had with IBB days earlier. The bomb exploded and severed his lower abdomen; he died a few hours later.

Saharareporters: Did you ever meet Marwa again? And did you ask him about his involvement?

Ogunade: Yes, Marwa was very active in the Nigerian embassy in New York. For a long time he was the “military attaché” to the Nigerian mission in New York while I was a professor of Black Studies at the City University of New York. He came to my college to sign a $30 million contract with the college so that members of the Nigerian military could attend a “Peace and Conflict Resolution program” and then be awarded a masters degree upon completion of the program. I fought bitterly against it, but the chair of the department, John Muyibi Amoda, badly wanted the money. I kept fighting and one day the college authorities acceded to my request. When I got home the college had dismissed me, but also I got a fax message saying the $30 million had been returned to Marwa. But between Marwa and Abacha they never returned that money to the Nigerian treasury. They shared it. I heard between him and Abacha, over $250 million was laundered through an account used by the New York mission of the Nigerian embassy. Marwa later set up an airline with his share of the loot. When he showed up to run for president I was the one who petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate him. He confessed to money laundering in handwritten statements to the EFCC, but today he is the ambassador of Nigeria to South Africa. The police officer that investigated him, Ibrahim Magu, is permanently suspended from the police force after he was humiliated by the EFCC. It is a shameful country.

Saharareporters: What else did you do?

Ogunade: We helped start the Obama phenomenon in Chicago.

Saharareporters: How?

Ogunade: We fought and exposed Carol Mosley-Braun who was Abacha’s agent in the US Senate. She was removed from the US Senate because she took $5 million from Abacha to help cover his tracks in the US. We exposed her, which was how it became possible for the brilliant Obama to become the US president today. We set the stage for it.

Religion / Why do Christain pray to Christ to come soon? by abasifo(m): 8:46am On Jun 10, 2009
I often hear in churches - praying for the Kingdom of God to come soon. It seriously gets me confused. If this prayer should be answered, I personally don't think a hundred will make it - with the situation of world right now. Many things about His ways still needs to be understood and put right before such prayer. I know no soul has been created for hell!

So the question is:- should such prayers go on or should we instead be praying for more time?
